What better place than this to talk about the planned festivities for God of War's 20th anniversary? A new in-game DLC for Ragnarök titled "Dark Odyssey" is coming, as well as some neat merch and a 20th Anniversary Retrospective for the series. 

Finally, something insiders can eat some dirt over (the rumoured Greek Saga remasters). Feels good 

Also somewhat tempers expectations for Bloodborne's 10th anniversary in 2 weeks...

It's ridiculous that they aren't dropping the PSP and PS2 games on PS+ Classics for this. It seems like such and easy thing to do.

100%. 

It astounds me how few studios and publishers capitalise on anniversaries in meaningful ways for their games.

Taking the time to make the above video, put this effort into new skins for modern God of War games, position God of War as one of your biggest tentpoles, and then to not respect its legacy and origins by bringing back those earlier games for said anniversary? It's madness.

Probably because they've done a bit of research and determined that it's not cost effective. With these things, it's always down to cost. Or licensing issues. Or the cost of licensing.

Can't be licensing because they own the IP. Cost can't be a factor either because they are porting random PSP and PS2 games to PS+ and yet Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta, God of War and God of War 2 are still absent from the service.
