I've not played them before myself, but I hear that they explore some similar concepts that are seen in 999.  That alone is enough to make me interested

Keep in mind that they are apparantly pure VNs though, no puzzle gameplay at all.  Aside from being able to make some choices along the way, there's very little in the way of gameplay.
