I really think the Williams had the pace to win, but they never seem to get everything together at the right time. Obviously the changing conditions doesn't seem to suit them at all, but in the dry they're right up there on certain circuits.

Silverstone showed a great GP, and really proved that the rest of the season has been mediocre at best. Hamilton's pit stop for the Inters was by far one of the most perfectly timed stops in recent years, as they said you get some right and you get some wrong. Gutting for Williams, they had it right up to the first pit, then got it wrong and didn't really recover from there.

At least Alonso scored his first point for them, that's something at least.

Incredible race, I watched the highlights after the race just to take it all in again. Dare we dream of another thriller in Spa after the break? If Ferrari have their act back together the rest of the season could get really good.

Bumpety Bump

So, the US GP just happened.

First things first, wow. What a race indeed, so much action from the word "Go" right to the end. 8 car retires, plenty of overtaking. And 2 very surprising Red Bull cars. This was one of them "edge of your seat" races, as we knew that Lewis Hamilton needed to be 2 points clear of Rosberg and 9 from Vettel to take the title, meaning at the least it had to be a 1-2 Mercedes podium in Hamiltons favor. And again, both McClaren's starting to show they have more power as they headed up the pack.

And of course

Lewis Hamilton is the 2015 F1 World Champion with 3 races to go

Man, it's not been quite a classic season but we've had a couple of good rounds and this was a classic. Great test for Lewis before taking the championship, nothing was plain sailing but he got it done. He's just been A+ class all season. Hope the other teams & engine suppliers really come back next year though, we're overdue for a Lewis V Seb showdown (maybe throw some Danny R & Alonso while they're at it).
