Posted February 9, 2014 So now that Nintendo has remembered that the GamePad exists and promised games in the future will use it, we can look forward to some exciting new titles. However, due to the time it takes to make games it will be a while before we see them, which got me thinking maybe Nintendo should release smaller, almost experimental, games on the eShop that make good use of the GamePad. Posted February 9, 2014 Nintendo are fantastic at the bite-size experience, as they've shown with the likes of Mario Party, Wii U Party and the Wario Ware series. I genuinely do not know why they either put some of those mini-games up on the e-shop (maybe grouped together in 'packs') for impulse buys at very cheap prices. They are the perfect thing for families to have fun playing on a night. Maybe they could do some Nintendo themed board games too. Along these lines, what mechanics/franchises do you think would work or would you like to see? Yeah I think this would be a great idea, especially if they are dirt cheap. App Store type cheap games. Would maybe get more people using the eshop, I think the biggest barrier is people using it for the first time... Wii u party actually has some games which would have been perfect - the table football and baseball are great little gamepad games, baseball in particular. Selling these for 99p woud be great, maybe even fleshing them out a little. They did the "little bit of.." Series from Brian training so you never know. Maybe bringing them back. Definitely some sudoku, crosswords etc but the thing I'd love them to do is bring 42 games in 1 from the DS. I absolutely loved that game! Loads of card games, event darts and bowling were fun. Situation with Criterion: - The higher ups left and formed a new EA studio, took the Criterion name with them. - The bulk of the team remained and is now "Ghost Games". - The two original founders then left Criterion to make a new studio. When Mario64DS came out I was sat in an airport departure lounge going back to my home in Cyprus. Stopped playing, turned around and had about 7 kids all looking over my shoulder in awe. I remember it being a magical experience having a '3D classic' console game on a handheld and all these kids just watching, calling Mario silly and loving the way the main screen could be drawn on and 'came alive'. Yeah...some games like that please Nintendo... Luigi's Casino games would be awesome. Classic boardgames with a Nintendo twist like Monopoly/Cleudo/Operation/Mouse Trap/Guess who etc. would be good £5 downloads for a start. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Give me another little Nintendoland, or a few Nintendoland-esque asymmetrical play games and I'm all for it! £10-20 depending what it is OR individual aspects for a few quid a pop or something, maybe even try that wii sports model? Posted February 9, 2014 I'd say that an important mechanic could be editors. A Warioware title where you can create your own minigames would be cool. And then allow players to share their stuff online. Sort of Little Big Planet-style. Perhaps allow people to use their own hand-drawn sprites. I was saying in Wii U general the other day - a downloadable SM64DS HD WiiU remake WITH some fresh new Wii U appropriate minigames joined in and you're onto a real winner imo. Just make sure you're not crazy and price it accordingly as a remake. You just reminded me that there are mini-games in New Super Mario Bros too I haven't played those in ages The multiplayer in that was pretty hilarious too - they should pop that in somewhere on Wii U as if two DSes(one person uses TV screen, one person uses Wii U pad - maybe add some features to mildly differentiate the two too).
