gmac Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Who shot first? WHO SHOT FIRST DAMMIT!? Han, always Han
Fierce_LiNk Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 We had a reeeeeeally great game of Supremacy yesterday on the original Endor map. @Eenuh and I were trying so hard to get that middle capture point and kept getting killed over and over again whilst we were half-way through securing it. With 30 seconds to go, our team makes a go of it. Pretty much all got killed. So, we made another dash and kept going and going. 10 seconds left, we make another dash. I think Ine puts up a squad shield and I can see the clock ticking down. We made it with ONE SECOND left on the clock. As the clock adds on another extra minute, it gave us time to go for the next one. So we managed to secure the next one and even made a go at the final capture point. Snatched defeat from the jaws of death, phenomenal game. Had a few amazing matches on the new Twilight on Hoth map. Our team were like a plague of locusts. We just swarmed the middle point, then the next one and had them camped on the final point for the majority of the game. We played badly on Friday night but were awesome yesterday if I do say so myself. I really like the new Endor and Hoth maps. The Survivors of Endor map is reeeeeally beautiful, whilst I love the layout of the Twilight map. It's put some new life into the game for me. Can't wait for more maps and other stuff!
bob Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Getting back into this game now. Been playing it for the past two nights when I can. It's so awesome. Just got the jet pack which is proving to be pretty fun. I had an awesome kill last night where I launched myself across the Ravine on the Endor and landed next to this stormtrooper, punching him in the face. Feels good man. I really wish the DLC for this wasn't so outrageously priced though.
Tales Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Yeah, the price sucks, but I just bought it myself. First dlc is out tomorrow and I don't want to wait for a discount.
bob Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Had an appalling few matches on this last night. Won one and lost two others. Although one was a Walker game that we had snatched from us in the final seconds when some fucker harpooned our Walker. I was stood right near it watching this magnificent arsehole loop around, unable to do anything other than shoot ineffectually at him. Still, Star Wars.

somme Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 The new maps are great. They seem pretty big at the moment as there are so many corridors and places to go - even though the new maps are only for the smaller modes. The new mode is fun. Generally an all-round good DLC pack. Should keep me hooked for a while longer.
bob Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Was a god last night on a Walker Assault. Got 24 kills and absolutely destroyed those rebels. Then we switched sides and ended up getting humbled by 6kills/21deaths. I have no consistency! I think playing as rebels on Walker Assault had something to do with it, but meh. I'm going to hold out on the DLC for a bit I think, although Lord knows when it'll come down in price...
Fierce_LiNk Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 I bought the season pass as I had some unexpected back-pay from work. Enjoying the outer rim stuff and Extraction is good fun. Still getting a lot of joy out of this game and it's my go-to for shooters these days.
Kav Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I put this on since... maybe since the first couple weeks of release and played a few games of Walker Assault as I hadn't played that mode before. Given that I'd been away for so long I thought I might get trounced but I kicked some ass! Playing CoD has helped keep my reflexes sharp. I took out the first two Hutt Contracts and almost have them done, just need a few more kills with the Scout Pistol and need to do the Cycler Rifle kills, although I've not even unlocked that yet, still only level 23. Haha I'll carry on gaming on this I think so that I get my money's worth but I much prefer CoD... yet I much prefer Battlefield 4 to both this and CoD, haha.
Tales Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 With private matches available, do some of you want to come together and boost the online trophies we haven't gotten?
somme Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 I need to trample 15 people with an AT-ST. I can rarely even find the pick-up and when I do I'm so overjoyed I normally run straight into oncoming fire and explode within a minute.
Fierce_LiNk Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 We've only just discovered how fucking awesome Nien Nunb is. @Eenuh was playing Hero Hunt earlier and just worked out that he is absolutely perfect for that mode. I think she hid in one spot and put bombs and turrets around the entrances and walked away with victory. Whoever put his laugh as one of the emotes is both a hero and a sadist. We both lost it when she killed about half a dozen people with a turret and hit the laugh emote straight away. Yeeehehehe
somme Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 (edited) I am loving the Outer Rim maps. Especially Jabba's Palace. The detail is just amazing. I think I read on Gaf that someone suggested for Extraction on Bespin the Imperials should be extracting Han frozen in carbonite. Edited April 6, 2016 by somme
Fierce_LiNk Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I am loving the Out Rim maps. Especially Jabba's Palace. The detail is just amazing. I think I read on Gaf that someone suggested for Extraction on Bespin the Imperials should be extracting Han frozen in carbonite. That's an excellent idea. I'm enjoying the Outer Rim stuff, too. The Hutt Contracts are an excellent addition to the game. I hope the next lot of DLC adds more of this type of stuff as it does breathe in new life to the game. Any news on when more maps will be dropping? They're gonna have a hard job trying to top that Survivors of Endor map in terms of aesthetics. I keep trying to kill rebel scum, but I have to keep stopping every few moments to look up at how fucking amazing everything looks.
somme Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I bought the season pass, which is the first time I've ever done so. There are a few bugs with the DLC. For example after every match it looks as though you're not getting any credits. You are, it just doesn't show it after every match. A few little niggles like that but nothing that's stopped me having fun. The Hutt Contracts, the way you unlock new guns/skills give a nice challenge to the game. In short, yes, I would recommend it.
Tales Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I don't care much for the hutt contracts, but I love the new maps and the Extraction mode.
somme Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I'm still trying to get that Dioxide grenade kills one. Taking ages!
Fierce_LiNk Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Would you say the DLC is worth the purchase then guys? That's a tricky one. For us, it is worth it. Up until we bought the DLC, @Eenuh would play this through her dinner break (she works from home) and we'd play this during the evenings about 3 or 4 nights a week. There's two of us using one digital copy of the game and we'd play it together. So, in terms of value for money, we're getting lots of mileage out of the game because we're both able to play it online with each other. It made a lot of sense for us to pick up the game, especially as we're both still "in to it" and we'll probably still be that way for the most part of this year. It might be different for you if you've got other shooters on the go. For us, this is our main shooter. We don't play CoD and I've not played Battlefield in aaaaaages. How much do you play the game these days? If you're on it every night and will be on it every night for the next three or four months, then definitely go for it. I bought the season pass, which is the first time I've ever done so. Yeah, @Eenuh got that credit bug. It was weird as her overall counter would go up on the next screen. Hope the issues get sorted out, although they're not game-breaking for us.
somme Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Yeah the bugs that are there aren't game-breaking, just a little confusing at first. Like, post-match the only Hutt Contracts that appear are ones I've already done. It'll all get sorted out so I'm not bothered. I can play the game and the game is fun.
