Surprised there hasn't been a thread.

I hope to find myself watching it this friday, as apparently, that is when it is released, according to my local cinema. The adverts and other randomites, howeverm dictate that it's already out.

Has anybody seen it? Anyone going to see it? Anything.

Oh, and spoilers, keep them tagged please.

Mon Atif, I have seen.

Its a good film, however it did drag a little towards the end (perhaps that was because i'd drank so much Coke, and it wanted to escape my body?). Anyway - the acting is top quality, i couldn't fault them. Ledger played his roll well i thought. Mainly becuase he doesn't say a lot and for that that is harder to act for as you have to just body and facial skills.

The plot is also pretty sweet. Its very well written and there's no real "zomg im bord lol!" moments. The only main quarm for me was how quickly they got it on, it seemed rather fast.

To conclude, see it. It's going to be one of the best films this year. Joy and heartaches a plenty.

Yus, thank you for that. Short and concise, and didn't ruin the movie in the slightest. I am intrigued as to how the plot will develop (aside from the obvious coming out the closet event), but do not say, I shall let my intrigue guide me.

The new film from Academy Award-nominated director Ang Lee. An epic love story set against the sweeping vistas of Wyoming and Texas, Brokeback Mountain tells the story of two young men - a ranch-hand and a rodeo cowboy - who meet in the summer of 1963, and unexpectedly forge a lifelong connection, one whose complications, joys and tragedies provide a testament to the endurance and power of love.

Or to put it simply, it's a tale of two cowboys who are sure they 'ain't queer', but soon fall in love.

Watch the trailer, it in itself, is quote moving.

I've seen bits of it (I work in a cinema, and have been trying to watch as much of it as I can while 'working') and it looks very good. I'm gonna try and catch it sometime this week.

Happily it has been really, really popular so far. I guess there aren't that many mainstream films focusing on a male homosexual relationship, so it's caught many people's interest.

I was going to start a thread about this!

As you can see but my pic, i'm a HUGE Jake Gyllenhaal fan!

I'm going to buy Brokeback Mountain and Jarhead on DVD so i probably won't go to the cinema!

My fav film is Donnie Darko with Jakey in it, i wonder if one of these two will change my mind?

But i also have BubbleBoy, Moonlight Mile, October Sky on DVD as well! Might have to buy 'The Good-Girl' and 'Lovely & Amazing' to finish my collection.

I also have a couple of shirts with Jake Gyllenhaal on, but his in the role of Donnie.

His one cool dude, someone i look up to anyway! :hehe:

Good point, but that doesn't really show-off Jake Gyllenhaal's acting talent in my opinion, it's not a bad film but i'm not to keen on it!
