Cookyman Posted July 24, 2012 Author Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) About bloody time too! So now we can have a wee get together on this - turn on cross play chat too - who's up for it??? Source - PS Blog Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational Update Enhances and Adds Multiplayer Modes + Posted by Tsubasa Inaba // Senior Producer, International Software Development Calling all golf fans! Update 1.04 for Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational on PlayStation Vita (which just happens to be on sale on PSN right now — only $17.63 for PlayStation Plus members, $25.19 otherwise) goes live this evening! Here’s what to expect the next time you hit the fairways: Invite friends to play in private tournaments Whereas before you could only play in Real Mode tournaments that were open to all, now you can create private tournaments for you and up to seven friends, as well as private rooms in the online lobby space. Out on the course, you’ll be able to see your opponent’s ball after each shot, and between holes you can also use text chat to communicate with your friends, on the scorecard screen. Stroke Mode (Head-to-Head) Previously Ad-Hoc only. A head-to-head competition for two players, where the golfer with the best results at the end of a round wins. You’ll be able to chat with and heckle your opponent between holes. Match Mode (Head-to-Head) Previously Ad-Hoc only. This is also a head-to-head competition for two players, but this time it’s the first competitor to get to 3UP status during a round who wins. Once more, chat and heckling is possible between holes. Introducing Rank for Real Mode tournaments Players will now be rated G0 (strong) to G4 (novice) depending on their online performance. Rank will act dynamically, with players ranked according to their performance in official tournaments with more than ten participants. This way, novice players can play without the fear of being completely decimated, while experienced players can compete with other skilled golfers. Introducing Seasons to Daily Tournaments In Daily Tournaments mode, there will now be one game per day — a reduction from the previous three — so that each Tournament will be more focused and exciting. One season is equivalent to seven days, with a variety of rankings measured per week. These include a Weekly Champion and Top 10 rankings. That’s it for the new additions to Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational. Now grab a friend and your PS Vita and get golfing! *EDIT* Just checked and the patch is up - 220mb downloading it now!!! Cookyman Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) Well have any of you lot given the update a go - I've been playing a hell of a lot online and the community is thriving absolutely fantastic stuff. Nice little additions to this patch - if you place in an online tourney you can unlock items to further customise your avatar and the better grade you are the more actions they do in the online lobby. As per usual none of you lot play this game and all I can say it is your loss - it's easily my fave Vita game this update makes it even better. Whats really interesting is in Japan they are getting update 1.08 which will add hooks for the dlc characters and new courses - so still lots to look forward to. Very disappointed I haven't played any of you lot online yet. Edited August 1, 2012 by Cookyman
Happenstance Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Have any of you played Everybody's Tennis? Was just wondering if it's worth getting as its on sale.
Aimless Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Have any of you played Everybody's Tennis? Was just wondering if it's worth getting as its on sale. Whilst I don't have personal experience — or time to play it at the moment — it's supposed to be great. Apparently the singleplayer is quite RPG-like. A second-hand recommendation, then.
dazzybee Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Everybody's tennis? Never heardof it. I do mean to play golf more but I just never play the vita anymore, and with the xl out I want to play that even more. The vita is really struggling as a device. Where all the people who attacked the people who said its almost dead on arrival still confident the machine can turn itself around? Now the golf online is better (wish wipeout would sort itself out too) I may give it a go again!
Happenstance Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 I've gone back to playing my Vita quite a bit, including Everybody's Golf. It does need a load of announcements though, only game I'm waiting for is Persona 4 The Golden.
Cookyman Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 More dlc news for everybodys golf. You can now get the Kat character from Gravity Daze and a new course - Northern Fox Country Club in Japan - wonder when the dlc will get over here?

Cookyman Posted September 2, 2012 Author Posted September 2, 2012 Heard this was getting ported to ps3 or summit. It is in Japan no news here as of yet. It will have online crossplay with the Vita too which is cool. I'll get it and Platinum it on the PS3 too - love this game.

Cookyman Posted March 14, 2013 Author Posted March 14, 2013 (edited) Two new courses and three characters (including Kat) available next Wednesday. @Cookyman, when the update arrives, I'd be interested in the turn-based mode. The update is live already. Really looking forward to the dlc! Wow DLC is dirt cheat - I'll get it all, roll on next Wednesday! Keep telling you Vita owners buy this game it's fucking brilliant! Everybody’s Golf PS Vita: Kat from Gravity Rush steps up to the tee If you haven’t played Everybody’s Golf on the PS Vita in a while, now is the time! As some of you may already know, we recently released a feature update (patch 1.05). This long awaited update adds the following features: Turn-based Challenge Too busy to join a tournament online at a given time/date? Not to worry! By introducing this “Turn-based Challenge” mode, you can now challenge your friends in an asynchronous competition and play head to head, hole by hole. Players can now also set up 20 different parallel games at any given time. To avoid cheating, there are no re-dos, similar to Daily Tourneys. Short messages (like SMS) are also now enabled, as well as competitive score history between friends. Additional gameplay updates include: Four-player stroke mode enabled in the multiplayer rooms A slot mode added to the online/adhoc, enabling a slot machine style handicap system applied per hole to keep the game interesting in case there is an imbalance between player skills We’ve also added a new visual lobby in the online space, and tweaked the game balance a little bit New DLC content The classic Mt. Sakura returns from Everybody’s Golf on PS2, great for advanced and novice players alike. Those of you who have been with us over the years can reminisce, while those of you who are just joining us can experience some of our great courses from the past. Another course we are bringing back is Northern Fox. This too is a novice-friendly course, but don’t be fooled — there are some tricky course designs here and there. Both Mt. Sakura and Northern Fox have been revamped completely and look great in today’s resolution standards. Last but not least, we’re also adding a brand new golf course named Mar Cielo. Surrounded by emerald green waters, this pretty beach resort style golf course is sure to keep the intermediate and advanced players challenged. Don’t get too relaxed on this beautiful golf resort, and watch for the landscapes and obstacles we’ve thrown in there. We’re also adding new characters to the game: Erika, Gloria and Kat from the PS Vita fan-favourite Gravity Rush. Kat is very much intrigued with her discovery of golf, and is gravitating to the sport with a great deal of curiosity. These new courses and characters will be available next Wednesday when PlayStation Store updates. Each character will cost €0.75, with the courses going for €2.49 each. You’ll be able to grab the whole set for €7.49. So once again, a big thanks to everyone for your patience. We’re happy to finally offer the extended features and DLC available on Everybody’s Golf Happy golfing! @Cookyman, when the update arrives, I'd be interested in the turn-based mode. Sent you a turn based invite - think I better wear two pairs of trousers in case i get a hole in one! Edited March 14, 2013 by Cookyman Automerged Doublepost
