RedShell Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Everyone needs to be checking out this awesome NES mashup game: http://abobosbigadventure.com/fullgame.php It's seriously entertaining. : peace:
darksnowman Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Lol, kicking Goomba's and punching DK to death ftw. I failed miserably on stage two because my fingers haven't evolved to allow me to maintain swimming and to attack at the same time.
RedShell Posted January 14, 2012 Author Posted January 14, 2012 I completed this earlier, it's easily the most fun I've ever had playing a Flash game. So many laugh out loud moments throughout, plus it's a lot of fun to play. It really is incredible how they've recreated the gameplay from all of the different NES games so perfectly. I failed miserably on stage two because my fingers haven't evolved to allow me to maintain swimming and to attack at the same time. Are you using a controller? If not (and if possible) you should try playing it like that, instead of using the keyboard. I played it using my GCN Hori digital pad, and it works great.
Pit-Jr Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Amazing but it keeps glitching on me and i have to restart
Ville Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Yeah, tried this yesterday, but had only 1 life and died at the Zelda boss. Couldn't be arsed to beat the level again then, maybe later...

You should try playing that using the A & S buttons on the keyboard as your action buttons. My fingers just can't sustain it.
Pit-Jr Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 The last few levels and ending are ridiculous in the best possible way
Jonnas Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Played it, beat it. Ridiculous stuff, in an awesome way.
Rummy Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Goodbye sunday morning! I'm taking forever on the megaman level Yeah, tried this yesterday, but had only 1 life and died at the Zelda boss. Couldn't be arsed to beat the level again then, maybe later... It's much faster once you know where you're going/doing etc I completed this earlier, it's easily the most fun I've ever had playing a Flash game. How/what do you use to map it to a pad?
Ville Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 It's much faster once you know where you're going/doing etc Well, luckily there's a level select at the beginning of the game, so I can start straight from that level : )
Jonnas Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Goodbye sunday morning! I'm taking forever on the megaman level Honestly, I think that level is actually much easier than the original level it's based on
Rummy Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 (edited) Honestly, I think that level is actually much easier than the original level it's based on Haha yeah true, it's them blasted lasers messing me up so much though! EDIT:Having said that, just managed to go through it without any continues on my first retry! Only problem now is bloody mac Edited January 15, 2012 by Rummy
RedShell Posted January 15, 2012 Author Posted January 15, 2012 Just going to bring @Dog\-amoto @Hero\-of\-Time @kav82 @Mokong X\-C @tapedeck ...check this game out if you haven't done so already. You should try playing that using the A & S buttons on the keyboard as your action buttons. My fingers just can't sustain it. I started playing like that, but soon realised that a controller would be loads better. How/what do you use to map it to a pad?You need to install something called Joy2Key. Which can be found here: http://abobosbigadventure.com/gamepad.php : peace:
Rummy Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Ah yeah, saw the note on the game, unfortunately it seems to have problems with me! I've managed so far with the keyboard though, so I guess I'll just carry on!
Ville Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Ok, completed this now. Was pretty good: controls worked perfectly, animations were nice, and story was interesting and full of humour. Although, the fact that they used so many old sprites does weigh it down a little. Makes me wonder what kind of original awesome they would be able to conjure up, if they decided to go for it...
Lorfarius Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Isn't the point of the design that they use the old sprites? It looks fantastic and some serious funny nods to older sprite design.
