Shorty Posted August 30 Author Share Posted August 30 Don't get me wrong when I was younger I probably watched the first 300-400 episodes of One Piece more than once and enjoyed it repeatedly. The pacing was occasionally bad back then but not a total joke. It's the subsequent 600+ where its lost the plot lol. One Piece is tied together by awesome, emotional, gut-punching backstories and takes exciting leaps forward in the story where other series would just stew for a while. Probably because they stopped doing fillers arcs, which everyone hated. At least you could skip them. They've improved since Wano started though. They've increased the animation budged for action scenes which look great. You still get recap episodes every so often, but it's not too bad. S2 is still the peak of it for me, but that entire 30+ minute finale and the penultimate episode's credits were just flexing so damn hard with the craziest anime eye candy I think I've seen in a show – it matched movie quality and then some. Which makes complete sense with the knowledge that we're getting a trilogy to finish it all off. It does seem a bit rushed, but hey, I'll take three gorgeous and fight-heavy anime films to round this all off before it would otherwise run itself into the ground Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
