EEVILMURRAY Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 This may be in the Xmen thread but I'm too shocked to check, but going through IMDB looking for links in movies, randomly searching I came across Topher Grace, many will remember as Eric Forman im That 70's show is Venom. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0413300/ Not on. Simply not on. I can't imagine him as Eddie Brock at all.
Sooj Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 I agree with you, Topher Grace is a thin, weak looking fella. Eddie Brock is a broad shouldered, built man. Thus the name brock ie Rock =P I don't like this. Hopefully, they will make him look the part...maybe.
Retro_Link Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 It does seem a REALLY strange choice, but I guess they'll do with him as they did with Toby Maguire/Peter Parker! In the comics and cartoons, Peter Parker really isn't anywhere near as weak/nerdy looking as Toby Maguire looks at the start of Spiderman; they just show it that way to make the transformation all the more extreme! A real zero to hero story!! It's likely they're just taking the same theme with Venom as a character (whether it's exactly fitting with the comics/cartoons or not)!
kopo Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Wow, venom gets a sense of humor and has a witty reply to everything? Awesome
Ashley Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Im not against Topher being Venom or whatever, as im neither way about it. Im against him leaving That 70s Show, and the crappy Eric replacement.
rokhed00 Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Meh, old news. But, seeing as Venom is probably going to be 100% CGI, he's not really going to be playing venom, just voicing him, if that, probably just playing Eddie Brock really, but still, that is some bad casting.
Ryan Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 I read this at Superhero Hype! (hint) ages ago. He won't be skinny for the film he's lifting weights alot and hates it apparently..
Dan_Dare Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 mmm, considering the awesomeness that is the spiderman casting in previous films I'm going to say they've probably got a decent choice. maybe he's more like the ultimate version of Venom?
