gaggle64 Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 (edited) Turn out at the lights and full screen this bad boy for maximum effect - a simulation of what Earth's sky would look like if it was being orbited at the same distance as the moon by some of the local planets, including Mars, Earth, Neptune and JupiAUUUUGHGOODHOLYJESUS. The song in the video is Where We're Calling From by Doves if you're interested. Edited February 3, 2011 by gaggle64
The fish Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Well bugger me sideways, that's a big fucker...
Jimbob Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 And there was me thinking that was a huge fireball about to hit the planet. Jeez, thats big. Talk about a total eclipse or what!!
The Peeps Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 The music is a perfect fit. The music is awesome, it's 'Where we're calling from' by Doves. Had to say that because I love Doves.
chairdriver Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I'm so bored though, since I believed people when they said "Things in space are big".
Dan_Dare Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 God, how awesome would that be? One day we'll live on Titan and find out.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I'm so bored though, since I believed people when they said "Things in space are big". Yeah, except it's pretty impossible for most people to even get their heads around numbers that big. We know it's huge, but we're simply unable to imagine just how huge.
Supergrunch Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Yeah, except it's pretty impossible for most people to even get their heads around numbers that big. We know it's huge, but we're simply unable to imagine just how huge. Accurately imagining large numbers is almost on a par with, say, visualising four dimensions - we can't do it, and only cope by sort of pretending we can. This is why the lottery is successful.
