EddieColeslaw
I answered one once and just went "LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOOO! LOOOLLLOLOLO!" until they hung up. You forgot three letters.

Charlie
Skipped the whole thread but here is how to avoid all of these calls. Sign up for the Telephone Preference Service (Google it). Tell salesperson you're on it and its illegal for them to call this number. Be polite and say goodbye. OR Say "I'm sorry I'm not interested but can you please take my number off your list please". Oxigen_Waste
Skipped the whole thread but here is how to avoid all of these calls. Stop having a phone. You have a mobile already, what's the point?
Mr_Odwin
For a lot of people in the UK (like 99%) our broadband access is tied up with a landline phone.
Raining_again
I'm thankful that I work for an ingoing call centre. I feel awfully sorry for these people that get abused day in day out. The scammers I have no respect for, but there are genuine folk trying to get by. Call centre money isn't exactly wonderful for the amount of abuse you get. I think a lot of people dont get the responsibility and pressure put under call centre staff by management... its all about statistics and targets. In my line of work we constantly have to hassle community nurses, who by nature are out on call with patients. We get abuse from patients, doctors and even the nurses themselves. And not forgetting the stupid fucking wolverhampton job centre who has a number very similar to ours, and we get 20 odd calls a day from them alone. With a starting wage that isn't far off minimum wage
