Mike Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 So, I think I've pretty much admitted defeat on this. For a week or so, I've only had Remix 10 to get a perfect on, and I must have had.. I don't know how many attempts. 100? 150? More? Really couldn't say. The problem is I just don't feel like I'm getting any better at it. Sometimes I'll get pretty far, other times I'll screw up ten times in a row at Donk-Donk near the beginning (which happened to me today!). Playing it again and again isn't teaching me anything I don't already know, and it just seems to be down to luck how far I get. Sure, there are the same ones that usually cause me problems (Donk-Donk, Fork Lifter, Exhibition Match, Love Rap, Tap Troupe... if I get that far), but I don't feel like I'm doing anything different each time and sometimes I pass, sometimes I don't. The furthest I've ever got is Rhythm Test, I think, and today I failed on Flipper-Flop, which was quite good. In any case, any times that I've carried onto the end after failing, I've still never made it all the way through Night Walk without messing up. I'm sure I'll try it again at some point, but I really don't think I'll ever beat it, and as soon as a new game comes along (NSMB2), I'll give up for good. Shame, as it's a great game, just incredibly frustrating at the same time.

I'm sure you'd get it if you kept trying, but if it's starting to frustrate you, then yeah, probably best to just take a break or give up. 49/50 perfects is still good going though and Remix 10 is an absolute beast.
Mike Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 :yay: :yay: And only on my sixth try today as well! I don't think I've ever had my heart pounding so much playing a video game as I did in the last thirty seconds or so of that song! Can't believe this is the one and only time I've ever got the Night Walk part of it perfect too!

I don't think I've ever had my heart pounding so much playing a video game as I did in the last thirty seconds or so of that song!Hehehe, same here. Such a great feeling when you make it, it's gotta be one of the most rewarding gaming accomplishments of all time. Anyway, really glad you persevered and got the final Perfect. Welcome to the N-E Rhythm hall of fame! Who will be next to join us I wonder...?
dazzybee Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 When the game comes down in price I'll certainly give it a bash Need to finish the DS version first. Might crack it open!
Fused King Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Who will be next to join us I wonder...? I'm working on it, I'm working on it I must say that I'm enjoying this less than Rhythm Paradise, maybe because I think the series lends itself more to a handheld than to the big screen. I also enjoy using the stylus and making those rythmic moves instead of just pressing a button. I even find myself just making the moves (punching/drumming/swinging etc..) during some rhythm games:D The endless games are also a little less fun in solo, but the co-op games are brilliant! Especially the final Rhythm Toy, that one's incredibly fun. I just need one more medal on Figure Fighter 2 and I have a few perfects here and there, but I also dread to get perfect on Remix 10, because I too don't really get the 'Donk-Donk' part. Somehow the 'Ton-Ton-TAN!' part doesn't work properly either at the beginning or at the end. I also love all the references throughout, but I kept hoping to see my favourite characters from Rhythm Paradise in an actual game/rhythm toy/endless game instead of a background cameo, but alas. . .
Ike Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Turned on Japanese voice... not the same without Wubba dub dub. The remixes get a lot stricter after 2. Can't even get an OK on remix 3 and 4 even though I only mess up a few times/
Fused King Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Oef, I managed to get 'Donk-Donk' perfect by having my Wii-Mote in one hand and tapping the A button with my other hand's middle finger. I didn't even look at the screen, that stuff just fucks me over every time. So now it's down to the last one: REMIX 10 Oh, there were times when I nearly nailed it, but then you make a stupid mistake at a point you usually don't make any, because you were finally able to get past the parts where you DO make mistakes:laughing: LET'S DO THIS!

Good stuff, Fused King. The N-E rhythm hall of fame is awaiting your arrival, we have the champagne on ice...
Mike Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 The N-E rhythm hall of fame is awaiting your arrival, we have the champagne on ice... Yeah, and I don't drink, so you'd better hurry up before RedShell downs the lot!
RedShell Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 Congratulations @Fused King! Anyone else here doing the all-perfect challenge?
Fused King Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Yeah, it felt awesome But I also know that I probably won't be checking it out again anytime soon due to backlog, which was quite different with Rhythm Paradise DS. Different times, different times. All I can do now is hype up Harmoknight and get some love going for a sequel of the Rhythm series on WiiU

Hero-of-Time Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Success!! I bomb down to the Metro Centre this morning after @welsh_gamer pointed this deal out last night. I managed to get the last copy in GAME and was quite pleased and surprised that it came with the soundtrack.

Mike Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Sorry for the massive bump, but some of you may remember a few years ago when I posted about using some of the songs from Rhythm Paradise in a series of dance lessons I taught my Year 5 class. Well, two years on and the topic's come round again. Like before, I've had 35 children all dancing in unison to Fan Club 2 and Blue Birds, then this year for the first time, they danced along to Ringside from the Wii game, with a great selection of 'poses for the fans'. Wish I was able to share videos online - hilarious!
Fused King Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Man, must be great having a teacher who's fond of gaming! You use it to inspire all kinds of activites right?
