Dante
AnimeNewsNetwork - The September issue of Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine is announcing on Thursday that Hiromu Arakawa is drawing a new special Fullmetal Alchemist side story manga in the next issue on September 11. Arakawa just ended the main Fullmetal Alchemist manga series in June, and the second television anime series based on the manga, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, also ended in July. Fullmetal Alchemist will also adorn the cover of the October issue, and the issue will bundle miniature Hagaren W Swing figures of the character Roy Mustang and the dog Black Hayate. Readers can then send in forms to receive a comic box (shaped like the suitcase of the main character Ed) and travel stickers in the mail. The issue that contained the 108th and final Fullmetal Alchemist manga installment sold out throughout Japan, so Square Enix had already announced that the September issue will include a reprint of the final installment. Viz Media will publish the 24th volume of the manga in North America in January. Funimation has been releasing both of the Fullmetal Alchemist television anime series and the 2005 anime film Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie - Conqueror of Shamballa. A new Fullmetal Alchemist movie has since been green-lit. Edited August 8, 2010 by Dante
Jonnas
Interesting. I wonder if the new movie has anything to do with this.

Guy
They're never gonna let this franchise rest. Not that I'm complaining.
Sheikah
They're never gonna let this franchise rest. Not that I'm complaining. To be fair, they're not like Naruto or Bleach; the Japanese animation equivalents of TV soaps. I'm glad that they did the second anime series since the first one didn't follow the original story at all. The last movie was pretty poor, here's hoping this one is better. The original movie ends terribly. Such a poor resolution to what I felt was an excellent series. Brotherhood is just as good, however, if not better. It was a much more complete storyline. Shame really, Shamballa had a pretty excellent premise with the alternative world and the Nazis and stuff. I just can't forgive Edward for dicking Winry over so badly in it. What a douche! Also the CGI armour suits was laughable.
