An alright win against Noodleman! Bring on ReZ : peace:

Should be pretty even I think.

I think its going to be a very interesting game.

Regarding my match, all I have to say is, at least it wasn't a loss. Johan goal whores again. God bless my Johan. Best forward in X11 history TBH.

The skill levels are rising but you still want to stay

Essex Elites 2-1 Noodle Esporte Clube

The Elites started off their campaign well winning against a determined Noodle side. The 1st half was quiet but the Elites suffered some misfortune as Hagersten their youth goalie collied into a post and was taken off, he will be back early next month. The game stepped up in the 2nd half as both teams had chances to score. It was the Elites with their daring 3-4-3formation that took the lead, Marples hit in two shots within a 12 minute period to put the Elites on the home stretch. However Noodle hit back with Batistuta the veteran Noodle striker opening his top league scoring with a a close range shot that went in off the post. The Elites were strong though even with only 3 defenders and goalie substitutions they held on for the win. This was a good opening game for both teams, the Elites secured the win. While Noodle showed they are not a walkover and are ready for the top league.

Secret United 1-1 AFC Rez Rabies

The shock result of the day came as Rabies returning to the top league as Division 1 champions held United to a draw. Maybe it should not have been a shock, Rabies manager has proven himself to be a tactically astute manager and worked to Rabies strengths today. Ignoring the midfield battle where Rabies were hopelessly out gunned, Rabies played a 5-3-2 formation. Gladh set up Fjallstrom who headed in a cross giving Rabies a great early lead. United pushed forward but failed to make ground against a 5 man Rabies defense led by the inspirational Soder. Just as United fans were bracing themselves for the awful reality of a shock away defeat Brusling the club legend volleyed in a goal with 3 minutes to go. The match was over and Rabies sent a warning shot out to the top clubs that just as Happenstance stayed up last season, the established order might not be able to swat away the promoted sides. United are still a great team looking for glory but need to bounce back quickly after this set back.

Roostophe Rovers 5-2 The Sixty Fourthers

Rovers showed they are ready to win the title again beating the 64s comprehensively in their opening game. Rovers went ahead via an awkward own goal in a 1st half that was strewn with bad fouls and 5 yellow cards. The 2nd half had another 5 yellow cards but Rovers kept attacking with Hasopolaltli striking in a close range shot then threading through Mazzoleni to make it 3-0. Goblecoqe scored with a diving header to bring the 64s back into the match. Sheldon however scored not 1 but 2 direct free kicks. The first a blasting effort that hit the crossbar and went in, the second a curler that nestled in the top right hand corner. Collins headed a goal in for 64s 5 minutes into injury team but by this time the Rovers fans were singing loud and nothing was going to stop them. Rovers really underperformed last season but look to be back at their best this was a ferocious display that completely took the normally steady 64s off balance.

Battlestar Odwinica 0-2 Happenstance FC

Happenstance scored the only away win in the league as they outplayed a promoted Odwinica team. Odwinica while having a much respected manager seemed unready for this match with injury worries and transfer business still looming, their performance was not a great one. A few of their team had never played a game before and teamwork seemed to suffer because of this. Happenstance also had new additions, but their new midfielder Kono crossed in a great corner for Burbage to smash in his 50th goal for Happenstance. Happenstance played out the rest of the game with no real threat coming from Odwinica, Happenstance had 60% of possession. On the 91st minute Harford who had been a rock in defense curled home a direct free kick to give Happenstance a 2-0 win. Happenstance start off well while Odwinica look uneasy in their new environment.

Analysis

Most Important Result: Secret United 1-1 AFC Rez Rabies, only promoted side to get a point Rabies did very well in their first match.

Turned on the Style Award: Roostophe Rovers, could Rovers ageing but incredibly talented side be at their best this season? This results says yes.

Player of the Day: Otto Sheldon, Roostophe Rovers, 2 direct free kicks and an assist rounded off an incredible day for Rovers.

I'm going to attempt to be a bit more active on here, after all I do post countless press releases, so it's not as if I have nothing to say! I'd like to think I should win against Veni, Mcoy was pretty unlucky, but my team has a track history of underperforming, might be because I've focused a lot on youth?

I'm happy with my first result though, managed to squeek out an away win! Also nice to see a fellow Essexer winning today, hopefully Elliot can somehow gain a surprise title in the top league, you never know ;]!

my 19-3 defender may seem like a silly purchase, but he has four awesome skills (and one bad one). He's going to be a sturdy 24-9 hopefully :P

I see your 19-3 and raise you a 19-4 forward with the abilities:

  1. Training
  2. Headers
  3. Speed
  4. Freekick
  5. Leader

Hopefully he does well. Shames he not in the N-E league!

Hello League One

Tin Can Club 1-1 Recall United

A demoted side met a promoted side in a matchup that really picked up in the 2nd half. Tin Can Clubs 4-3-3 vs Uniteds 5-4-1 looked to spell a bore of a game as there was 1 chance in the 1st half. However there was 9 in the 2nd half as both teams tried to establish themselves in this league they are both new to. United's larger midfield gave them more chances and new striker Gers headed in a goal at the near post with 4 minutes to go. Tin Can Club staring defeat in the face suddenly upped their game and the formation worked out with two strikers, Piearce and Einersen combining, the former crossing a ball in for the latter to strike in. Tin Can Club now looked out for blood, the game went into added time and they poured forward against the barricaded United defense. One missed tackle and Tin Can Club were given a penalty. Marteinson stepped up bravely, stamped down on some grass near the ball took a run up hit it right and.... it was beautifully tipped past the post by Antia the United goalie. The game ended in a draw a fair result in what was an entertaining encounter.

Emo Blades 1-0 Soap Box Utd

Blades edged a victory against old foes Utd in a tactical match. In this match too, the 1st half was a slight bore fest with no chances at all. However in the 2nd half the game picked up with 7 chances. Blades were playing a youth here and there and Utd seemed to be capitalizing with 57% possession. Utd however couldn't work their way past the Blades goalie who was on fire. Utds defense was on very good form but Blades worked a move that got past it, Piechnik ended up heading in a floating cross in the 61st minute. Utds young strike force were not up to overturning the Blades to get a point out of the match. Still it was an even encounter that showed both teams up as hard to beat tactical sides whose only weakness may be the ability to land a killer blow.

Silverdale Hotpot 2-1 DuDs Baggies

The report has long been an admirer of both of these teams, there is talk as of late among managers that Silverdale are favorites for promotion. While favoring Silverdale the report was unsure if this was true with such strong competition. However Silverdale have got off to a winning start in a chaotic match. The game started off very badly for Silverdale as their star striker Sidwell was injured 4 minutes into the new season. However Hardings finding himself with the ball just outside the box after a cleared corner, smacked it in with a great shot for a defender for his first ever goal for the club! Baggies played 5-3-2 fearing a loss, however this strategy backfired. Firstly their midfield was limited to creating 2 chances, secondly one of their defenders was injured on 62 minutes but because Baggies used all 5 of their defenders to start, a midfielder had to take his place. 7 minutes later Silverdale struck again as a superb Drynan threaded a ball through the chaotic Baggies defense to put Beresford through for a chance that he wouldn't miss. Gillchrist hit back for the Baggies with a nice shot. However it was to little to late and Baggies lacked the get up and go to fight for a 2nd goal. These are 2 of only 3 teams that were in this league last season and both will be fighting to be promoted, first round to Silverdale but theres a long way to go.

Jaffa Munchers 3-1 Madpool

Munchers were on top form as they became the only promoted side to earn 3 points. Not only that but they did it against former top league team Madpool. Madpool did suffer some misfortune early on as sublime midfielder Quintal was injured early in the match. Despite this Hadley another Madpool midfield star whipped in a ball for Mumby to slot in. Playing 5-4-1 though Madpool once they were unable to win the midfield race looked like they were on the backfoot. Munchers were a much more cohesive unit and began to create chance after chance. McAnuff suppled Geller with a cross that he headed in before the break. In the 2nd half Munchers kept on creating more chances, Elias put away an easy close range shot then McAnuff followed this with a shot just inside the box to make it 3-1. Munchers deserved the win and have now won their past 3 games from this league and last seasons league. In comparison Madpool have lost their last 3. Is promotion momentum going to help the Munchers succeed?

Analysis

Most Important Result: Jaffa Munchers 3-1 Madpool, great win for the promoted side against the former top leaguers.

Turned on the Style Award: Jaffa Munchers, other teams need to start taking notice, 10 chances and 3 goals is not something to take lightly.

Player of the Day: Morris Drynan, Silverdale Hotpot, set up a goal and kept the Baggies at bay helped Silverdale get off to a good start.

I quite like the little things they've updated in the interface such as the running order for captains and free kicks as well as the match experience + average form popping up when you hover over a player when setting tactics. Pleased with the victory on Tuesday, hoping it's a sign of things to come.

During a practice session to see who can hit the bar the most times, Jerrard Beresford hits it six out of six. His teammates are so excited they jump on him and as he tumbles to the ground he manages to twist his ankle. He will be missing for 10 days due to his injury.

Eights United is a superstar

Mcoys Sons 1-1 Veni Vedi Vici

An interesting encounter, saw the only fully new manager of our league take on the manager who introduced him to us! Vici got off to a feisty start taking only 4 minutes to score their first ever goal as Gower a veteran midfielder thumped home a corner. The Sons were taken aback but kept control of themselves and the game. Just before the first half they hit back with Jevons feeding the ball to Harris who hit it in, the two strikers both have a good game. Not good enough however to score more than once. The Sons controlled the rest of the game but Vici held out and showed resilience, Kilner the Vici goalie kept out a few shots for Vici and had a great debut to the league. Sons will be annoyed at being shown up by a side they surely saw as a mentor not an equal. However it was a good game for both teams and neither should be upset with this result.

Discount Viagra 3-1 Martinists Men

Viagra after just missing out on promotion last season started off strong against a poor Men's side. Playing 4-3-3 Viagra were confident of victory, the young midfielder Jordan skipped past two defenders and took it round the goalie to put Viagra in the lead. Flood and Ewing both scored in quick succession in the 2nd half, Flood with a guided header and Ewing with a awkward looking but successful close range shot. Arcanu scored his first ever goal for Men with a last minute header but it was nothing more than a consolation for the Men. Viagra weren't on supreme form (Men were rather poor) but showed intent and scored 3 goals, looks like they will be trying for another promotion push!

Complete Domstercool 1-3 Eights United

Eights United impressed last season testing the dominant forces of the league and are now a major player. Grorud fed a ball through to Yusri early on to put United 1-0 up after he shot it in off the post. Domstercool struck right back as Rodwell curled in a sweet shot 2 minutes later, the 33rd goal of his career. United played 3-5-2 and this formation worked to perfection, knowing the weakness of Domstercool is usually their forwards and their usual strength are their midfield this was a great strategy. United ended up with 7 chances to 1 a great feat, they converted one of these chances before the half was over as Grorud hit a looping header home. Domstercool lacked any cutting play and their eternal decline as a club seems to continue. United sealed a deserved win as youth midfielder Fjellbekk who had a tremendous game, fed a ball through to Gresdahl who made no mistakes. United are stepping up and must be considered a contendor after this display, Domstercool on the other hand need a huge change in direction.

Ten Plus Win 2-3 Edd Kirby Athletic

A captivating match saw former Made of Win manager returning with a new club facing relegated Athletic. It all started so badly for Ten Plus Win, Hotei hit a back pass in by mistake scoring an own goal then gained a yellow card for arguing with his own goalie! Athletic pushed their advantage, playing 3-5-2 Kirby Jr had space to set up fellow midfielder Hill who hit a shot into the top right hand corner. Athletic seemed to have sealed the win but the 2nd half started and Ten Plus Win rushed out of the starting blocks. Koji a Ten Plus Win skilled defender set up a cross from the right hand side twice in 3 minute for 2 goals to make it 2-2 as the home crowd cheered and roared! Ten Plus Win came at Athletic with chance after chance just like Athletic came at them in the first half. Amongst all this offense that man Hill slotted a goal in with 10 minutes to go out of a scrappy cross to break the home crowds hat. Athletic closed out the win as Ten Plus Win still went for a victory. A thrilling match that could have gone either way, this season could well be a thrilling one!

Analysis

Most Important Result: Complete Domstercool 1-3 Eights United, United are priming themselves for a really good finish this season and what a way to start.

Turned on the Style Award: Ten Plus Win and Edd Kirby Athletic, had to give this award to both these teams, 18 chances an incredible display of football.

Player of the Day: Fredrick Hill, Edd Kirby Athletic, the difference maker in a thrilling game.
