Dante Posted November 13, 2009 Author Posted November 13, 2009 Wow software certainly didn't seem to sell much this month eh? Hell DJ Hero doesn't looked to have done too well Seem to me that Activision have killed music games in US and looks like PSP Go didnt help the PSP at all because it still dropping in sales.

Guest Captain Falcon Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 GTA CHINATOWN WARS (PSP) <10k Suddenly the DS sales figures don't look so bad after all...
darksnowman Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Suddenly the DS sales figures don't look so bad after all... Yeah, I half expected Chinatown wars to sell like hotcakes on the PSP and people to gleefully see it as justification that these games don't "belong" on Nintendo consoles. In that sense, I'm kind of glad the PSP crowd haven't taken to it.

In that sense, I'm kind of glad the PSP crowd haven't taken to it. Whilst I know what you mean about how it shows it wasn't just the platform that was hindering it's sales, you can't help but feel a little sorry that Rockstar's effort has been wasted.

Dante Posted November 16, 2009 Author Posted November 16, 2009 Gamasutra: Behind the October's Numbers Hmm... Not only did Guitar Hero 5 and The Beatles: Rock Band fail to make the top 20 chart, but those games almost didn't make it into the top 10 games on any given platform. Only the Wii version of The Beatles: Rock Band made that platform's top 10 list, at #7, behind Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2010 by Activision.
Pit-Jr Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 11) DEMONS SOULS (PS3) 150,000 — 156,000 My faith in the general public has been somewhat restored..... A BOY AND HIS BLOB (WII) <10,000 aaaaaaand its gone
Shino Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 500k people bought a brand new Wii and only 10k of those AND established user base bought A Boy and His Blob... Not that I should be complaining since I didn't bought it either, but Nintendo has an huge marketing problem with the Wii right now.
D_prOdigy Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 (edited) Whenever I think of Boy and His Blob, I always think of it as a Nintendo title for some reason, not Majesco. But it's a classic case of a game being sent out to die anyway. Having a nice banner on IGN for a week does not classify as a committed marketing strategy. Edited November 16, 2009 by D_prOdigy
Zechs Merquise Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Very sad for A Boy and His Blob, but great to see the Wii back on top!
Goron_3 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Another big wii release sells very poorly :/ Seriously what the hell are people actually doing with their Wii's?
D_prOdigy Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Boy and his Blob a big release? Don't be amusing.
Goron_3 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Boy and his Blob a big release? Don't be amusing. Ok maybe not 'big' but whenever i see people talking about the wii's xmas line up they always mention Boy and his Blob and its gotten some good reviews too.
Ren of Heavens Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Some US retailers already sell DJ Hero for as low as $75 (around £45) to clear stock. Unsold DJ Hero boxes takes up a lot of storage space...
Zechs Merquise Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Some US retailers already sell DJ Hero for as low as $75 (around £45) to clear stock. Unsold DJ Hero boxes takes up a lot of storage space... I think that is because there are so many music games launched it was inevitable that one of the games would get lost in the deluge, and that game was DJ Hero.
Fierce_LiNk Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Ok maybe not 'big' but whenever i see people talking about the wii's xmas line up they always mention Boy and his Blob and its gotten some good reviews too. Where do you see these people talking? On Nintendo forums, with gamers who buy these "underground" games? In all honesty, there are probably about 10 people on this forum who have declared their interest in the game, and they're probably the same ones who buy the other hidden gems. It's most definitely not a biiiig title. The problem is purely down to exposure. If you don't frequent these message boards, how on earth do you ever find out about these games? I've preached to the world about de Blob and I've convinced about 3 other people to buy it, and these were people who didn't use message boards. You don't see many adverts for these types of games, you don't see many articles in newspapers or non-gaming publications, so how are people supposed to know that these games exist? It's not a coincidence that products such as WiiFit and Mario Kart are constantly sold out and are heavily, heavily advertised outside of message boards and gaming publications.
