Ojiari Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 http://cctgamecalendar.com/content.php chek it (Raid over the River). What did you think about it? In my opinion that could become nice space shoter. Revo's Controller gives many possibilities...
Hellfire Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 VERY interesting find. It seems that things might be more advanced than we thought.
nicolasmasset Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 What would it be? A spaceship shooter?
Shino Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Great find indeed, possibly the first image of a revo game (MP3 doesn't count) even if its is only artwork. Ps. if you're using Firefox, the images might not show (at least for me it didn't), open it with IE.
Stocka Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Fantastic find! Has to be legit too, the rest of that page seems to be.
Konfucius Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I googled a game homepage. Looks like a shoot'em up and it says so in the description.
Towers Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 I saw the screens and they look nice.. who knows how real it is though
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 I googled a game homepage. Looks like a shoot'em up and it says so in the description. *Gives Konfucious a gold star*
Darv Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Did anyone actually read the website. All it is is a fans idea for a modern version of the classic Atari game "River Raid" It's not being made by any developer. All it is is an idea and a few mock up pictures of what they imagine it could look like.
Retro_Link Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 This pictures awesome; a game of this style would be great!!
pedrocasilva Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 these 2 seem a whole lot more "in-game" than the one you shown (not saying that it's impossible, far from that, but these ones even have a HUD): Seems pretty good, it seems to have advanced HDR lightning aswell as bump mapping AA and AF applied (but those last two might be due to the resize from 640x480 to 500x375) still it does appear to be no snail in graphics department.
Darv Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 If you are interested in developing our game, please contact us by mail or phone. Seriously, it is just a fans concept for a game. Has anyone downloaded the dodgy word document with a whole story line to it.
pedrocasilva Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Seriously, it is just a fans concept for a game. Has anyone downloaded the dodgy word document with a whole story line to it.the mocl-up is well rendered, so i think it's right to say that these might portrait what the revo is capable of doing without much effort, pretty graphics, tech demos are also mock-ups you know? Killzone shown at E3 this year was a mock-up made on-spec, even if this is a mock-up, it's made made on-spec of what will be clearly easy to push. it's good to see it posted. and who knows, even if it represents a inexisting game it might come true. This game (AOE3) runs pretty well in a computer with a Ati 9600pro... what's the big diference from the rotr mock-up? (I resized them to 500x375 like the original images of rotr)
DCK Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Those seem Revolution graphics to me alright It still doesn't seem very demanding visuals to me. I bet the Revolution controller helicopter control will make up plenty for that though
Darv Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Well it's not got anything to do with the Revo. Infact the word document was dated August 2004!
pedrocasilva Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Well it's not got anything to do with the Revo. Infact the word document was dated August 2004!but you saw the first webpage posted in this thread right? it says it's now, in 2005 that it is a exclusive game for revolution, maybe this NIBRIS company has the rights for the game now and is developing it, they wouldn't need to update thei original site for that. it's not like they are showing footage or have a publisher for it, as stated in the first place just a possible outcome, but not impossible isn't it? this game might be in development if they had a green light for it, or someone picked it up. it's a matter of contacting them, or not, if they want to keep it a secret for now.

Source: The CCT Game Calendar; NIBRIS Web Site Date: 11.30.05 The Rumor Report: According to a listing on the CCT Game Calendar 2006, there is a game in development titled Raid on the River apparently in development for Nintendo's next-generation console, code-named Revolution. The site states that the developer NIBRIS is still searching for a publisher. The Rumor Man says: This is a peculiar find. I contacted the head of NIBRIS for further word on this matter, and in response I was told that the developer "would like to do this game directly for Revolution and DS." Apparently, "only Nintendo platforms get this game." In regards to having a development kit, the developer responded, "To be honest - we don't have Revo dev-kit yet - so we do [a] version on PC but we have a lot of ideas how use the Revolution controller." When questioned on whether or not they had found a publisher, the developer head said, "We don't have [a] distributor yet but some of them are speaking with us." In other words, stay tuned to Revolution Report for more information on this promising project.
