Emasher Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 So I've got this N64 jumper pack. It doesn't work with my NTSC copy of Perfect Dark, or Resident Evil 2. I've tried blowing on it and everything. And I have another one (3rd party), so I know its not the console. The pack's label is in Japanese and English, do I have a Japanese pack and its region locked, or is it just broken? The Console is NTSC also.
Guest Captain Falcon Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 IIRC, Perfect Dark requires an Expansion Pak. Exactly (well, 70% of it does anyway) - the jumper Pak is just the piece of plastic that sits in there normally but even then, the games should at least boot.
Emasher Posted May 24, 2009 Author Posted May 24, 2009 Well, aint you lucky. You've got RE2 on the N64. Is it rare?
Nolan Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Is it rare? Well on Ebay it's quite cheap, but it was released in 99 near the end of the lifecycle and I doubt that very many copies of the game were made, at least compared to the other versions of the game. I don't know how well it sold though. It was also a very large cartridge (data size wise) so intial cost was probably very high.
Emasher Posted May 24, 2009 Author Posted May 24, 2009 I think it was around $17. So about what its going for on eBay.
dwarf Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Aww I thought after the title of the thread your question should have been 'Is it dark grey or black?' it's definetly dark grey, mwahaha
Emasher Posted May 25, 2009 Author Posted May 25, 2009 I thought we already established it was grey. The question was, Dark Grey, or Charcoal Grey?
Rummy Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Charcoal, yeah?? (whats a jumper pack? or did you mean expansion pack? this thread confuses!)
Emasher Posted May 26, 2009 Author Posted May 26, 2009 Ok, so from what I understand, the jumper pack was the original thing that came with the N64 to fill that slot, and the expansion pack upgraded the RAM from 4MB to 8MB, or something like that. And the N64 needs one of those to function.
Retro_Link Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I can sell you an expansion pak for £10 inc. p&p if you need one?
Emasher Posted May 26, 2009 Author Posted May 26, 2009 Me? No, I bought one when I bought the console.
Pookiablo Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I don't remember RE2 being that rare for the 64 - there's much rarer out there e.g. all the stuff that came out in 2000.
