So I've got this N64 jumper pack. It doesn't work with my NTSC copy of Perfect Dark, or Resident Evil 2. I've tried blowing on it and everything. And I have another one (3rd party), so I know its not the console. The pack's label is in Japanese and English, do I have a Japanese pack and its region locked, or is it just broken? The Console is NTSC also.

IIRC, Perfect Dark requires an Expansion Pak.

Exactly (well, 70% of it does anyway) - the jumper Pak is just the piece of plastic that sits in there normally but even then, the games should at least boot.

Is it rare?

Well on Ebay it's quite cheap, but it was released in 99 near the end of the lifecycle and I doubt that very many copies of the game were made, at least compared to the other versions of the game. I don't know how well it sold though. It was also a very large cartridge (data size wise) so intial cost was probably very high.

Aww I thought after the title of the thread your question should have been 'Is it dark grey or black?' it's definetly dark grey, mwahaha

Ok, so from what I understand, the jumper pack was the original thing that came with the N64 to fill that slot, and the expansion pack upgraded the RAM from 4MB to 8MB, or something like that. And the N64 needs one of those to function.
