James Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 What platform do you guys have battlefield on? I'm playing the xbox version and online seems quite laggy atm..especially in vehicles :-S Im playing xbox, no probems for me at all, Add me if you fancy a lil squad.

dwarf Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Just looked at the trophies and realised that you only have to complete the last mission on hard to get the trophy. Silly me, I've been playing it on hard up to the snowblind mission.

dwarf Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Awesome games with Knee once more, you've outdone yourselves. Plus this seems to be the only game that my Jabra £5 headset tosh properly works with, so speech seemed pretty clear (as clear as you can call Cooky's accent anyway).

dwarf Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 The Rush mode on the Isla Inocentes is amazing. It's so fun for defenders, and really challenging for attackers. Managed to unlock all of the engineer weapons, haven't tested out the UMP too much but the PP2000 is incredibly good. I wish there was an extra ability specialisation box though, the guns don't have enough ammo in the loadout, so it's kind of a necessity to choose the extra mags specialisation, which means you can't have a red dot sight, or whatever. Ah well.
Tyson Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Is that why you were complaining I revived you too much last night? :p That's why you need to stick near an assault and hope they realise that your character saying "I need more ammo" is their cue to chuck out a handy ammo crate.

Even if you jump up and down in front of them and melee them in their face they just stand there completely gormless. They probably think I'm a psychopath but oh well, I thought it was pretty clear that I wanted some lead to fire.

If there was a button to hold down to make it so you could talk to the whole team, it might solve that. I suppose part of the strategy of the game is to conserve your ammo.

Struggling to get people to buy it, a lot of people are being dismissive, saying "It's not going to be better than MW2 so I won't bother." but personally I think BC2 is far and beyond better. Ironically I get killed less by vehicles in BC2 than I did in MW2 BTW, don't know if it's available in the console version, but in the PC version there's a sound setting called "War Tapes". It'll blow yer mind!

McPhee Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Short version; Punkbuster is a pain in the ass that hates half of the software on your system and uses it as an excuse to kick you. EA are cheap and should have just stumped up the extra cash for Steamworks (i.e. Valve's Steam software). I know I'd have happily paid an extra fiver for VAC instead of Punkbuster and a server browser that isn't incredibly slow. However, they have done a pretty good job overall. It's the first new multi-platform PC shooter I've played in ages that actually feels like a PC game, no console port here. Got it for nostalgia really, brings back memories of Battlefield 2 (and to a lesser extent 1942, it's a very different game from 1942). Unlike Battlefield 2 though, I'm owning at this Came top 3 in every game for the past hour! The M60 rocks! :awesome:

Ah right cheers for the tip, I thought cries for ammo were just automated. The Valparaiso map is one of the best maps ever to be conceived. Stunningly well designed, and beautiful to look at.
MadDog Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I didn't know what war tapes meant in the settings, so I switched to it, and it's incredible. No game I've ever played comes close to the atmosphere that you get in this game. Amazing.

I'd just like them to make the Conquest maps a bit more 1943-ish. It just feels slightly wrong and empty at the moment. Hopefully they'll release some more conquest maps soon. I recently unlocked the magnum bullets specialisation, it's so good! Couple that with a PP2000 or the AUG assault rifle and you'll have a whale of a time. For the first specialisation it depends what class you're using more, some weapons are much better with red dot sights, but with some guns they're fine so I usually op for the more grenades/explosives special or something else. Also whats the deal with conquest mode, Both teams were down to 5 tickets each, We had 2 of the 3 bases captured, yet the tickets were only going down on kills and ended up losing, I thought they went down quicker on how many bases controlled?
Emasher Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 For some reason the store is down on the PS3 version. To unlock the M1, you have to get Battlefield Veteran Status for 2 games. Some of the really old ones don't count, and 1943 for some reason can't be registered yet. BC1 works though. 1943 should work soon as well.
