MoogleViper Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 What sort of thing should I put under general interests? Does it means things such as hobbies?
Ellmeister Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Sports, general music taste. Anything you think is appropriate. I think they use this to group people, like get someone with general interests in the samish area. Its not too important. But I found that a guy like 2 doors down loved skiing and put that down like I did. We are now great friends and living with each other next year! Unfortunately not in the same bed

Unfortunately not in the same bed Hahah, who knows what minght come of it Its probobly better to be with people who share your interests. Say, if you like beer, you would want to be with people who also enjoy beer.
DomJcg Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I never had to put anything down like that, they even put me into different accomodation to the one i wanted =[
Zell Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 It's more important to stress whether you're a "loud" or "quiet" person, as I reckon they locate you more to loud and quiet areas of halls. If you don't want to have a ground floor room next to the entrance where you won't be able to get any sleep, then don't put down "I like to go to clubs and stay out late". It's not the best place to be during exam time! Having similar interest is cool, but you'll make new friends anyway.
Ashley Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Say, if you like beer, you would want to be with people who also enjoy beer. True. People who enjoy beer are seldom found at university.
Ellmeister Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 True. People who enjoy beer are seldom found at university. Ziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing! To be fair, I'm a cider man. And most of my lot aren't. More strongbow for me because people don't want me to share it with them :p
Kirkatronics Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 True. People who enjoy beer are seldom found at university. I know, its really hard to find people who dont just want to learn. Ziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing! To be fair, I'm a cider man. And most of my lot aren't. More strongbow for me because people don't want me to share it with them :p I say beer more as a blanket term.I like lager, not beer =] Tell them you hate smokers. Yeah, even if you do smoke you dont want to stank of it all the time.
jayseven Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 You won't be allowed to smoke in your residence (though people may sneaky-window it) so asking for non-smokers is, frankly, ignorant, and you'll miss out on some AWESOM.
