navarre Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Navarre; it's not their "TIME ... Of The Year" accolade, just some top 100 votable thing that they started a couple of years back. Oh, my bad. Thank you for the correction.
jayseven Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Nay problemoo. D'you know, George W Bush has won TIME man of the year 3 times? Twice when he was elected and once joint with his father. Every 4 years it's pretty much guarenteed that the new/old president will grab that one.
Charlie Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 From the same people who granted Hitler the title... It's the person who has affected the media most that year, so in Hitler's case, he certainly did affect the media the most. It's not necessarily a good person who wins it. It's not actually always like that, Jay, David Ho won it in 96 (although Clinton did win it when elected in 92 so that's maybe why). "The Endangered Earth" in 88. Looking at the list, it seems to be only recent years when the President has been chosen....
Rummy Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Very well played by the hackers, and GothicPlague who instantly noticed it whilst everyone else just ignored his post, though...I wonder if he had prior information rather than just spotting it off the bat eh? Eh? EH!? There's all sorts of deliciousness laced into this that I love and can't come to begin to describe, and disregarding all of it, 4chan has had its pretty big share of influencing things. Besides, surely it'd be impossible to top this list without being influential, thus making it all fair game?
GothicPlague Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Yeah I quite often lurk on 4chan and I saw what they were trying to do except then they were failing. And I noticed people just seemed to ignore my post too.
