At that point the idea for the invasion wasn't the same as they were originally going to run WCW as a separate company with their own show, they did one test and it didn't go well which was when they pivoted. 1

I don't have Netflix but said I would be very tempted to subscribe once the WWE stuff hits, providing there is access to the classic stuff. No word on what happens to all that old legacy content, sadly I fear a lot of it will just be gone as i can't imagine Netflix transferring all of that content over but I noticed WWE launched a second youtube channel a few months ago called WWE Vault which has been uploading entire matches from the past as well as never seen before dark matches. https://www.youtube.com/@WWEVault/videos I suspect they will upload a lot of old stuff onto here that doesn't make it to Netflix. They've already been uploading entire old Royal Rumbles on their main YT channel recently, but now with this new channel, they have uploaded a lot of random old content. Such as the entire Hell in a Cell match between Undertaker vs Shawn michaels from 1997 for example. They have also uploaded some really obscure stuff from their archives, like this never seen before dark match of the Nasty Boys on Smackdown in 2007: It is surreal to see them on them in that era lol They also show all the things the WWE had stored in their warehouse, such as random props, costumes and even the huge Smackdown Fist from the early 2000s: also this was pretty cool: 3
CrowingJoe79 Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Gunther trying to rile up Bret Hart by mentioning Goldberg was an epic troll move for a bit of heat in Canada. 😜 I got a DVD once with a game, that covered his career beginning from when he started out in his dad's Stampede Wrestling promotion. I wasn't a fan of WWE or WCW during the 90s, so I missed all of his feuds. But I got into WWE around the time of that 'invasion' stuff, when WCW and ECW was about to be merged with the then, WWF. Then they had a great run in 2002 where a lot of big names debuted, and there was the very first elimination chamber match, Brock Lesnar beating up everybody on his way to the title, then Evolution formed and ruled the red brand in 2003, and so on. It sucked during the PG era. They have been picking up, though. And MVP being in AEW is actually cool. He's a great talker. He will likely resume the Hurt Business as the slightly altered name of the Hurt Syndicate, I think. Especially since his cohorts Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin have gotten out of their WWE contracts. By the way, does anyone like Nia Jax? I'm surprised she hasn't joined the Bloodline stable yet, being related to Solo Sikoa.
Helmsly Posted October 28 Posted October 28 The WWE Vault channel is slowly becoming my favourite channel: 1
BowserBasher Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Finally received an email regarding the WWE Network and the ending of it in Jan. They are not transferring accounts over to Netflix at all it seems. The email just says that from Jan 1st the Network will no longer be accessible in your area and that Netflix is the new home to weekly shows and PLE’s. If you are already a Netflix subscriber then nothing to do, if not then you will need to sign up. We have Netflix included in our Virgin TV package (funnily enough it made the bill cheaper with it because adding TNT Sports on its own was more expensive) so I’m good for now. Just hope a lot of the non live shows gets added too. Spent a lot of time watching the docs and other stuff on there. 2
Helmsly Posted November 26 Posted November 26 I am enjoying WWE's new YT channel so much: There are so many great moments in this video never seen before. One of my favourite bits is Paul Bearer doing an entire promo only for Undertaker to raise his hand with a toy puppet on it as a prank (around the 3:10 minute mark) 2
Jimbob Posted December 1 Posted December 1 Just saw something. UK subscribers to the WWE Network get December for free, they've cancelled all subscriptions for this month ready for shutdown in January. Make the most of it i say. 1 1
BowserBasher Posted December 2 Posted December 2 I was just coming to say this. I received an email yesterday saying the subscription was cancelled. Thought that made sense being the first of December. But noticed no money taken. It’s a nice gesture but I’d much rather have continued to pay £9.99 for the best streaming service I’ve owned.
martinist Posted December 3 Posted December 3 Ended up cancelling my subscription myself a few days ago. Said it ends December 8th so i'll check back on the 9th.
Jimbob Posted December 4 Posted December 4 I had cancelled mine back in July/August for financial reasons, but never closed my account. So getting December for free is a nice bonus (i honestly don't think i should get it, but i'm not complaining). Waiting for the inevitable Netflix price increase next year to pay for this
martinist Posted December 8 Posted December 8 Just checked if i still had access even though i canceled and it says I have "Complimentary Access" untill January 1st.
CrowingJoe79 Posted December 18 Posted December 18 What did you think of the two War Games matches? Jimmy Uso is your next breakout star. I'll YEET to that! 🫡
BowserBasher Posted December 18 Posted December 18 War games matches were fun, just too many injuries happened. 1
CrowingJoe79 Posted Saturday at 09:54 AM Posted Saturday at 09:54 AM WWE is moving to Netflix, which is actually a good thing. WWE and movies for just a mere tenner, or so. 😁
