Dan_Dare Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 man this website is good. You must have really talented, good looking staff writers too.
Ashley Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Nope. There's a good reason they're bloggers and not vloggers :p
ReZourceman Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Nope. There's a good reason they're bloggers and not vloggers :p I vlog. *Ashleys theory implodes*
Daft Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 I don't know if I want to colour it in a bit! Yeah I get what you mean but I like the sterile look. (Although that makes it sound horrible) I'm thinking the dirty red font is a bit ugly. man this website is good. You must have really talented, good looking staff writers too. Why thank you. Yes I am talented and good looking. Shame about the other two. :p Nope. There's a good reason they're bloggers and not vloggers :p It keeps the focus on the writing and people's hands out of their pants.
Molly Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Yeah I get what you mean but I like the sterile look. (Although that makes it sound horrible) I'm thinking the dirty red font is a bit ugly. My computer at home is wide so the white bits at the side are massive, it looks better on my work computrice. It has a very professional stylee, I just crave something to be a bit brighter, maybe even just the red. But then who am I? Also, grats to dan for becoming a waster
ReZourceman Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 But then who am I? Spider-Man? Anyway, I saw it at home. I think Eddages was nicer tbh.....*Runs off* But yeah. moaaarrrr collurrzzz.[/sig Hypocrite]
Ashley Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 It keeps the focus on the writing and people's hands out of their pants. Touché.move along. nothing to see here

It has a very professional stylee, I just crave something to be a bit brighter, maybe even just the red. But then who am I? Also, grats to dan for becoming a waster That's a good point. I normally view it on my weeny netbook. I'll bring it up. I'm not too sure what to do about it. Not too sure what to do there. Who are you? A (potential) reader. Spider-Man? Anyway, I saw it at home. I think Eddages was nicer tbh.....*Runs off* But yeah. moaaarrrr collurrzzz.[/sig Hypocrite] You miss the green? Eddages, as awesome as it was, was a bit to...cool, for lack of a better word. There was too much enthusiasm in it. A lot of the reviews are pretty negative.
Eddage Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Spider-Man? Anyway, I saw it at home. I think Eddages was nicer tbh.....*Runs off* But yeah. moaaarrrr collurrzzz.[/sig Hypocrite] This man speaks the truth, looked better before... [/bitterness]
ReZourceman Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 You miss the green? Eddages, as awesome as it was, was a bit to...cool, for lack of a better word. There was too much enthusiasm in it. A lot of the reviews are pretty negative. Even so I think it had more personality, and looked....like an actual thing. If you know what I mean. Like certain things, they have quite a genericy looking logo, but I think that design gave it a real identity. I'm sure Eddage could make a more..."shit stained"y version of it. You know I speak to truth. I don't like being so negative about it btw. But....if it aint broke, don't throw a hammer at it.
Daft Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 I'm afraid the hammer has been thrown. The new banner suits the site more. It's functional and clear. The identity of the site needs to come through the writing. I loved the old banner but I think this more in keeping with what we are doing.
ReZourceman Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Oh yeah? Oh yeah? So's your face. *Runs off* *Comes back for a hug, before escaping again* I will continue to read. Begrudgingly.
Molly Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 That's a good point. I normally view it on my weeny netbook. I'll bring it up. I'm not too sure what to do about it. Not too sure what to do there. Who are you? A (potential) reader. lol, I can imagine you going slightly mad sat there repeating yourself It's no biggie, the only thing would be to make the sides a colour, but you want it sterile, so...probs just leave it.
Ashley Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I know what'll add colour! Have de Blob rolling around in the background. Im sure THQ will be fine with it.
Aimless Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I know what'll add colour! Have de Blob rolling around in the background. Im sure THQ will be fine with it. It's a bit early to be selling out, isn't it? Besides, surely a deal with Square-Enix would be easier to procure. Throw in a few chains and some leather and you're done! Yeah, I don't really have anything genuinely helpful to add at the moment. I like the site, though, and its much better written than most game-related websites. (Not that I want to damn you with faint praise.)
Dan_Dare Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Square Enix? *goes out and buys a shit load of belts.*
Daft Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 We made it a year!! A bit of bumpage but I thought it was worth a mention along with the Remedial Waste Twitter page...thing... http://twitter.com/remedialwaste And we are about to launch (?) the Facebook group. We've also had recommendations from elsewhere! Startlingly grumpy… but fascinatingly misanthropic – GameSetWatch Vituperation sans cleverness – Ian Bogost Commendation/condemnation, same thing. Could an Admin change the title to just 'Remedial Waste' please?
ReZourceman Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Startlingly grumpy… but fascinatingly misanthropic – GameSetWatch Vituperation sans cleverness – Ian Bogost What are all these words?
flameboy Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Just to say congrats, I read Remedial Waste quite often and think its cracking match, your writing hits heights I can only hope to achieve.
Daft Posted December 5, 2009 Author Posted December 5, 2009 Thanks very much!! I suspect most of the quality comes from NebulaDogs quite often dizzying pieces. It's a team effort though. We really need everyone to make it actually happen. I like that often we have two opposing reviews of the same game. I think more sites need second opinions with their reviews.
