Happenstance Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I understand what you guys mean, I think for me its just my comicbook love thats driving me to get a copy now
Choze Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 (edited) Been hearing that the endgame content is better than Cataclysm. Now that is a huge claim. Apparently way better than other new MMO like Aion and the like that have come out recently. I will do a breakdown when I get the game. Been on GT5 and WOW mainly lately so this should break that up. My WOW guild loves DC universe so far. Its looking very good long term. yeah I'm the same as you....hopefully it will go free to play at some point in its life and then there will be a swell in numbers still making it a viable MMO that it might not otherwise get later down the line. It does come down to this console gamer mentatiliy that we have that online gaming should be not be charged per game! I would not exactly put much weight into what the 'average' console gamer thinks. Everyone is different. Edited January 18, 2011 by Choze
Dyson Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 I would not exactly put much weight into what the 'average' console gamer thinks. Everyone is different. Good advice. I'm thinking of APB.
Happenstance Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Managed to get pretty much the last copy in Oxford today. According to the guy in Gamestation they werent actually supposed to get more stock in yet but one turned up with everything else.

Happenstance Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Right thought id start posting my characters/servers so we can try and meet up. At the moment my main character is (not suprisingly) called Happenstance and is on World 4 Crossfire
MATtheHAT Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 I am also on Crossfire. My winged blue villainous healer is called...........Fat Mat
Happenstance Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Well im a hero on Crossfire so maybe we will meet one day.....in battle :p Im up to level 10 so far, really enjoying it. Although I think most of the voice acting is really terrible, especially for the heroes.
Ryuk Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 I plan on getting this but it'll probably be for the PC if i can get it upgraded
Happenstance Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Just tried playing in a group with ReZ. This games communication options are some of the worst ive ever seen, its really pissed me off. Took too long everytime I wanted to send him a message and we never seemed to be able to start missions together. Id usually just be happy playing a game on my own if it had problems like that but this is an MMO! The whole reason I bought it was so I could play it with you guys!
ReZourceman Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Exactly. What the fucking hell was that shit. Just. What the fuck. Right. Okay. Its an MMO. So why the FUCK do I have to press START (lag), then use R2 to go across to "chat" (lag) get there, type it out and send it. What. Took ten years. Then what the hell. Way points are the most confusing thing ever, I don't think they even worked. Then...bloody...it said "To continue your mission go to the East End Police Station". You go there....and then it doesn't tell you what to do next. I go to the Watchtower and then get lost because theres just millions of arrows pointing to...nothing. Such a pointless fucking thing. Then Happenstance and I party up and we want to do a mission together, but there is just....nothing telling you what the fuck to do. FUCKING MESS.
Daft Posted January 23, 2011 Author Posted January 23, 2011 Just use MSN to communicate. If you have a netbook it's way easier that way.
Daft Posted January 23, 2011 Author Posted January 23, 2011 (edited) True but then MMO's are never released finished. Edited January 23, 2011 by Daft Too many words
Happenstance Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I think voice chat is still down (not that I have a mic anyway)
ReZourceman Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 (But) the communication was the least important of the problems anyway.
Happenstance Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Yeah the communication was mainly the annoyance of having to stop what we were doing a go through menus (though with the keyboard plugged in I could at least just press enter). I also found no easy way to view who was in my group or how to only speak to group members.
flameboy Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 hmmmm seems like holding off is the way forward....thats if people are still playing once they sort out all these intial problems.
ReZourceman Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I'll be surprised if I play it again lol.
Happenstance Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Its a shame as ive had a really good time playing it on my own and im sure that I will carry on playing it that way for now until they hopefully sort out the groups and communication.
flameboy Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 watched this today: http://revision3.com/trs/dcuo It's kinda sold me on the game but I really can't afford to be paying a subsciption every month.
Happenstance Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Legend Pricing For Legendary DCUO Players
Choze Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Really good game. There are always some issues look at WOW Cata. But overall there is a ton to love in DCU. Also they are releasing new content much faster than WOW right now. Wow seems to artificially add extra grinding through heroics and pvp ratings without new content. Main thing is its alot of fun. I'll probably also get it on PS3 sooner or later.
