Well, I was hoping (back then) that this would be ported to the PS3 at some point. But, I am more than willing to take a Wii port with enhancements though any day of the week. I haven't played it yet so this will be a must-buy for me unless it just sucks. But this is Capcom, I have a little more faith in them than that. :P

This reminds off that movie with folk stuck in a mall and with hordes of zombies that where outside trying to make there way in to kill the humans and they got a bus or something with blades attached to get by them to escape, got on a boat to an island only to find more :heh:

Ie, Dawn of the Dead (probably the Snyder remake).

Not too impressed up until now. Wished they hadn't pulled the camera. Anyways, a long way in development ahead, so keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah, that's Dawn of The Dead. Good job someone knows about these niche films, eh? :p

Looks really good.

More enemies on screen than in any Wii game I know of, yet more detailed enemies in most of Ubi's games.

I just wish they'd remove Otis's phone, and have a pager, or just that he sends SMS messages. I hated being unable to do anything while he keeps talking on for friggin' hours about one single dude somewhere.

No wai are those the graphics. Really didn't expect them to be so epic.

What are you on about, epic graphics? This is epic?

I'll grant you that the following do look awesome:

But the difference is so blatant that one must deduce that the other 2 are the real graphics of the game, not this. And those other 2 look absolutely horrible, if you ask me, no better than what I saw in The Godfather

That's because the good ones are from cutscenes and the rest is in-game:

Dead Rising has an unusual game save system: only one game-in-progress can be saved per memory device per Xbox 360 profile. In these cases, Dead Rising allows players to save their current level and status and restart the game from the beginning as a more powerful player. The system is a deliberate game mechanic, borrowed from one of Capcom's RPGs Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter; the two games share some development team members.

That's what I figured, was just trying to show it (though it's in plain sight...) to the crazy people who are saying this game will look just a bit downgraded from the 360.... :)

It's so similiar to Dawn of The Dead they had to put a disclaimer on the cover to avoid getting sued:

It was a joke but Capcom did get sued by The MKR Group, who holds the copyright to both the 1978 Dawn of the Dead film and its 2004 remake by saying it copies DotD because of zombies in a mall.

It's Resident Evil meets jackass in a mall where you can go into stores, grab items and do all kinds of stuff to the poor zombies that want to kill you. Plus a B-movie story and it's Capcom.

Buy it.

thats sold it to me too:yay:

Looks pretty good! Any info on the saving system..i'm sure they've heard some of the negative views on that from fans of the 360 game!

What was this save system like? How bad was it?

If I recall correctly (having not played the game much and just heard about it from others) there was one (perhaps two) save spots in the whole of the mall so you would have to fight you way through zombies to get to it. If you died on route you started back at the start again.

Ah that save system. I've got Breath of Fire and restarted a few times but didn't help me out to much. Especially when my Dragon gauge or something reached 100% and I just died.

Was annoying ¬_¬

I'm not too happy about the removal of time-based events tbh, it was just about the only thing that made you think in the game. Now it sounds like it'll just be a hack & slash game :shakehead Also wft is up with removing the camera?

Still, i'll give it a chance. Hopefully it still has it's charm :)

You could only save in 2 locations in the whole Mall. This lead to a bunch of pussys moaning because they couldn't do the 'save, fail, re-load, retry' system. It also meant long runs through hoards of zombies to get to a save spot, so not a good game to play if you need to leave your house any time soon. Personally i liked the save system, it was a challenge and actually added difficulty and an element of strategy to the game.

Hmm mixed feelings about this save system. I too have played the game that shadow mentioned, and I first I abhored it, but then I got used to it (did not love) as it allowed me to steam through the beginning of the game like I was the shit. Was still a retarded system in that it restricted the use of the dragon forms, which was always the fun part of the breath of fire games.

Oh and when I said the graphics were epic, seems like I paid too much attention to the stuff grabbed from the 360 (although I am still easy to please when it comes to graphics).

Oh, boo hoo, the graphics aren't up to 360 standard, Capcom are not putting any effort into the game. Or they actually are. When you're running through hordes of Zombies, you havent got the time to look at the sweet graphics. I've played this game on the 360 on a big assed HDTV, and I thought that the game looked terribly last-gen, until I got to the cutscenes. I had never gotten the time to actually watch at the carefully detailed characters and zombies. It'll be the same here.

What's worse with the graphics in this version, when compared to a times more powerful system seems to be:

No HD

No real time lighting and shadows

Less detailed character models

Slightly fewer zombies onscreen at the same time

This game looks really good, and if Capcom optimize the graphics, they might be able to add the light effects or maybe tweak up the ammount of zombies. And also, the photo mode is tha most overrated thing ever. It was in Melee, and I don't know anyone who has used it. Same can be said about the 360 version of this game.

Did they win? if so that is complete bullshit the things some people do for money nowadays is atrocious.

hmm so ..what..wait...i barely understood this sentence but it's the whole concept that they were probably complaining about and suing for.
