Paj! Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Neon Bible, Taller In More Ways, Tired Of Hanging Around, Le Fil, *pauses to think, moves on* Jukebox, OK Computer, Alright, Still ,Takk... Cant get the middle one.
chairdriver Posted May 17, 2008 Author Posted May 17, 2008 Yay! All correct. Paj got the most right, so he can do the next batch (if he's up to it).
jayseven Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 awesome idea I didn't have a clue for any of them, though.
Coolness Bears Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Great Idea Chairdriver! I recognised a few of those! but only after Paj had said them! Before that they had me scratching my head!
Dan_Dare Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 I had a few. Kinda hoped I'd be the one to guess Camile, mind. if we're doing this, should we limit the ammount we can guess in one go, like the quiz thread.
chairdriver Posted May 17, 2008 Author Posted May 17, 2008 Those were just warm-ups. Can you get this one?
Paj! Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 That's so easy. But apparently I'm allowed a turn afterwards, and I want to see if anyone gets it.
EchoDesiato Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea by PJ Harvey. I don't wanna do the next round, anyone who wants to can. If I'm right of course (but I am).
chairdriver Posted May 17, 2008 Author Posted May 17, 2008 Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea by PJ Harvey. I don't wanna do the next round, anyone who wants to can. If I'm right of course (but I am). It's actually "I Sing Of The City, I Write Songs About The Sea: A PJ Harvey tribute album whose cover was doctored by Chairdriver". :p Yeah, it is SotC,SotS by PJH. I think Paj is going now.
Paj! Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 K here's my attempt at one; I think i've made this deliberately hard... What should the guess limit be? 2 per person? I dont know...
chairdriver Posted May 17, 2008 Author Posted May 17, 2008 I'm taking two guesses, ok? The centre one is Drawing Restraint 9 by Bjork. The bottom row middle one is Overpowered by Roisin Murphy.
jayseven Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 ... This game is no fun when not only can I not recognise them, but I've never even heard of the bands involved. Make it more user friendly guys!
Calza Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 But it wouldn't be fun if you knew all the bands, you can't really make it more user friendly without making it ridiculously obvious. My only objection is that it should guesses limited to one person.
Dan_Dare Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 I'll set up a quality one tomorrow when i get my mitts on photoshop
chairdriver Posted May 18, 2008 Author Posted May 18, 2008 Bottom Right is Let It Die by Feist. Damn, I knew that one, and was hoping no one else would get it. I'm still really annoyed by the one with the necklace in it. I know it, but don't.
jayseven Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 But it wouldn't be fun if you knew all the bands, you can't really make it more user friendly without making it ridiculously obvious. My only objection is that it should guesses limited to one person. I suppose you're right But it's just as un-fun not knowing any, either. No biggie, really! This game reminds me of the Retail Alphabet Game. I was considering doing one from movie/game titles (because I haven't been able to track down the existing ones online yet), but I need some of that 'effort' stuff. EDIT: Well I found logogame.com but I can't seem to load the page.
chairdriver Posted May 18, 2008 Author Posted May 18, 2008 ... This game is no fun when not only can I not recognise them, but I've never even heard of the bands involved. Make it more user friendly guys! My one was quite user friendly. All of them were famous (or semi-famous) albums (I had Camille's album cover as my avatar for ages, so even if it is obscure, you should recognise it). I realised I didn't officially say what they were: From top, going along the rows: Neon Bible - The Arcade Fire Taller In More Ways - Sugababes Tired Of Hanging Around - The Zutons Le Fil - Camille Idealism - Digitalism Jukebox - Cat Power OK Computer - Radiohead Alright, Still - Lily Allen Takk... - Sigur Ros
Paj! Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Current Scores: The Music From Mathew Barney's Drawing Restraint 9 - Bjork Let It Die - Feist (You got the positioning wrong, but I know which you meant) Overpowered - Roisin Murphy Grow Up and Blow Away - Metric Clues on the still left ones(sorta); -Only one on there is a band i'd never heard of before I saw the cover. -One is a VERY popular band, despite not having strictly mainstream success (yet?) -One is a very influential band from many years ago. -One is an artist with a penchant for style changes (and not just in music) I'll see if that gets any more. I say if you know one and people have posting quite a bit more after you, you can post it.
chairdriver Posted May 19, 2008 Author Posted May 19, 2008 I've got it! The one in the top right-hand corner is Uh Huh Her by PJ Harvey!
