Dante Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 Well I think it looks very cool and funny with great visual and promise of gameplay. Also knowing this is coming from the guy behind Devil May Cry makes it more promising to me. Dante Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 Aaaaahhh, I'd murder someone for a Resi 2 remake. In RE:make style than RE4/RE5 style?
Daft Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 As in make it for the PS3/360 and improve on the now fairly dated RE4/5 style.
Chris the great Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 is it a bad thing i think it looks really good?
Dante Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 Bayonetta Locked At 60fps On Both Consoles We got a chance to discuss Bayonetta with Sega the other day. We talked story, design elements and multiplatform parity. They’ve ensured 60fps on both the PS3 and 360 with no differences whatsoever. Interview Video
Deathjam Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 One Hand Mode Wow. That was cool to watch but is it fun to play that way?
S.C.G Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 One Hand Mode Wow. That was cool to watch but is it fun to play that way? I guess that depends entirely on what you choose to do with the other hand...
Dante Posted August 26, 2009 Author Posted August 26, 2009 Blog Updated: Bayonetta Director Hideki Kamiya here. At long last, here we go! Gameplay video of Very Easy Automatic Mode (AKA Mommy Mode)! Writing a ton of words would be a disservice, so instead, check out this video. This is the power of Automatic. Automatic can be used on Easy and Very Easy difficulties, and leaves the most complex controls up to the CPU. At the controls in this video is character designer Mari Shimazaki. All she is really doing in this video is pressing a single button, the Punch button. She may occasionally be pressing Kick, but only for the Torture Attack events. With Automatic ON, the game will do the following things for you. 1) Attacks/Jump Attacks Of course attacks go without saying, but automatic jumps are also included. Even if an enemy is in above Bayonetta, the game will jump you up and into a perfect position, then attack. Various combos are automatically triggered, allowing you to enjoy action rich in variety. 2) Dodging This also takes place simply by pressing the Punch button. Of course, if you are caught flat-footed the game won’t forgive you; however, as long as you get the button press timing correct, you will automatically dodge. …Of course, as you can tell by watching the video, you will probably end up defeating the enemy before there is ever a need to dodge. (LOL) 3) Warp I don’t really know what I should call this… Immediately after you’ve defeated an enemy, you will head towards a distant enemy and automatically jump off towards them. With this ability you can take down enemies from A to Z. To complement these, even when you are in Automatic mode, you can still move and dodge under your own control as normal, if you so choose. This means you don’t have to play one handed like in the movie. You can weave in your own movement, kicks, and dodges, enjoying a battle packed with originality. You can consider Automatic mode to be a helping hand from an incredibly skilled expert in the game. By the way, you can turn Automatic mode on and off anywhere in the game, so you can try a few different play styles I think… If you want to turn it off and get some hands on practice, you can. If you are feeling like, “This is impossible!”Then just turn on Automatic, go back, and try again. Another thing to add, and this one is important. In the easiest mode of the game, Very Easy, we have included the ability to recover your vitality in a few short moments should you take damage. So just in case you happen to run out of health, try to get some space between you and your enemies. But even if you take damage, you won’t take that much, so I don’t think you need to worry about your vitality falling to zero. (LOL) So even if you are a hardcore user or an absolute beginner, I hope you are all looking forward to getting your hands on a controller and seeing what it feels like to dive into the tempest of violence that is Automatic Bayonetta.

sumo73 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 I'm interested in getting this game when it comes out next year. It's over the top and doesn't take itself too seriously. I heard that Hideki Kamiya wasn't so happy with what happened with DMC4 so I think this game will be different from all of that.

S.C.G Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 I'm interested in getting this game when it comes out next year. It's over the top and doesn't take itself too seriously. I heard that Hideki Kamiya wasn't so happy with what happened with DMC4 so I think this game will be different from all of that. Same, it's not top of my list or anything but I could certainly see myself buying it at some point if the gameplay is decent and the price is right.

Dante Posted September 24, 2009 Author Posted September 24, 2009 TGS 2009 Trailer. Fire and Lightning Combo
Dante Posted September 25, 2009 Author Posted September 25, 2009 (edited) "We’ve decided to celebrate TGS the same way we celebrated San Diego Comic Con – by making one-of-a-kind Bayonetta game consoles! This time, we’ve made both an Xbox 360 and a PS3. But right after we ordered the hardware, the PS3 Slim was announced… (@o@)!? So unfortunately, it is the previous model of the PS3, but this is what it looks like! First up is the 360." First page: Within Upper left On top of the systems we have covered, such as "Witch Time" that slows down the flow of time and "Witch Walk" that allows walking on walls, we are going to reveal another stunning system. Bayonetta can transform into three types of living things, this transformation system is called "Within". Lower left Beast Within Bayonetta transforms into a dark panther. When in this form, speed and jump power are enhanced, allowing Bayonetta to reach places that otherwise inaccessible. Upper right Crow Within Bayonetta transforms into a crow that is able to fly. In this form, Bayonetta can still consume magic power to attack. Lower right Bat Within When being hit, the player can input a command and let Bayonneta transform into many bats, thus nullifies the damage. The button used is the same as that of the Witch Time, making this move much more valuable when the players fail to dodge the attacks coming after Witch Time. Second page: New weapons Upper left Durga A pair of artifacts that are said to have sealed the power of Durga - a god with thousand hands. The portals at the front end can summon and control fire and electricity. Durga is good for melee, it can also be equipped at the feet. Also, its elemental property can be changed. Upper right Light of Selene An artifact that was once owned by an Egyptian witch called Cleopatra. When the wearer is attacked, this artifact consumes some magic power and initiates Witch Time automatically. It is said that Cleopatra was a very good magic tutor and she made this for people who are not too good at perfecting their witch craft. It's a highly effective artifact when battling with groups of enemies. Middle right Demonic Walkie Talkie A walkie talkie used by the notorious triad gang "Little Devils". The user can establish a short contract with the Little Devils and use them to attack. Bayonetta can use this attack as a chain combo. It has a long reach, making it quite effective. Lower right Bad Karma Akshamala Owned by a witch, Akko, who used to serve Queen Himiko in ancient Japan. The wearer can evade a dangerous hit and counter with magic attack. Lower left Summons Fantazumaneara - A demon living in the Sea of Magma of the Hell. It is seldom seen in the Hell, not to mention on the ground. It's also called the "Ghostly Spider". Last page: Angels Bayonetta's enemies are the divine army from the heaven. They come in different froms. Also, they have a serious hierarchical system. The four "Cardinal Virtues" seem to be at the leader rang. Here we will introduce another four. Middle left Sapientia - One of the Cardinal Virtues who represents thoughtfulness and wisdom. It's often described as a sea monster swimming in the ocean. It affects people through waves and tides. Lower left Joy - Belongs to the highest class of angel, seraph. It sometimes appears to be a human woman. Also it can duplicate itself. Upper right Dia(?) and Decorations - angels with lower power who are more often spotted by human beings. The serious looking one is Dia, who is accompanied by countless Decorations, who are often confused with Cupid. Lower right Bike Stage - a new stage with Bayonetta riding a motorcycle is released. The gauge at the lower right of the screen seems to be showing the speed. Edited September 27, 2009 by Dante Automerged Doublepost
Deathjam Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Dante, you are really not helping me not spoil myself on this >.<
Shorty Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Haha that console looks both awesome and stupid at the same time, I could never have it in my living room. That controller looks quite nice though. Like Dorothy's red shoes.
