ShadowV7 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Hmm interesting. I'll try and keep an eye out to see if it works or not, though I have no idea where to look for these things. I'm thinking about waiting for NMH till I find out of it works or not and in the meantime get DQ Swords with Brawl.
Fandango Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Definitely a Day 1, this solves all my problems with Brawl now
david.dakota Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I was thinking the exact same thing there. I can't seem to find it. Be carefull with NMH though. I hear it doesn't work with a chipped Wii, so maybe this will be the case too with a Freeloader. How can you make a game not work with a chipped Wii? Where would i look to see if the freeloader is going to allow me to play NMH?
Noku Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 How can you make a game not work with a chipped Wii? Where would i look to see if the freeloader is going to allow me to play NMH? I've got the same question. A mate of mine is coming back from NY in just a few days' time, so I'll have to be quick about this!
EchoDesiato Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 How can you make a game not work with a chipped Wii? Where would i look to see if the freeloader is going to allow me to play NMH? No idea. The only way is to wait for other people to try it out I guess.
Zelda_Rulez Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 So how do we know Brawl will work then? Same way, I guess. Try it or wait for some other people to try it
ShadowV7 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 It's a chance. But the point of the freeloader is to play import games anyway Wouldn't be good if it didn't work on the good games now would it?
ShadowV7 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 And me. It looks much better with blood imo.
Blue_Ninja0 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Yeah, Datel must've fixed the automatic installation of firmware updates problem as well. It'll brick your Wii if you install foreign firmware. Let's hope they fixed the problem of having double Weather and News Channels as well. You guys are already buying Brawl but don't forget what happened with the Super Paper Mario importers and the bricked Wiis. If I'm not mistaken, the japanese version of Brawl has a mandatory system update that obviously will brick NTSC and PAL Wiis. The USA version of the game will probably have that update too. If it does, and if Datel didn't circumvent it somehow then you can kiss goodbye to your Brawl import. Take care. Let the guinea pigs test it first. No More Heroes, on the other hand, I never heard of it having a system update.
ShadowV7 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 It would tarnish Datel if they didn't think a Wii around this since the whole Super Paper Mario thing. It would be a really stupid move if they done that to their fans.
Gizmo Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Yeah its probably rash to buy it at this point, but my parents are paying for it, so it's all good It can't brick my Wii if I don't initiate the update, so the worst that can happen is I waste £25 buying the disc, which I could probably recoup on eBay anyway.
ShadowV7 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Yep, and me and a few others have alreayd ordered it.
Ashley Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 This is £10 on the code junkies website. I presume everyone else is talking about the cost of Brawl.
Ten10 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 What would be the likely hood of being able to import SBB successfully over the game's launch period. Probably quite unlikely. So I think I'll try out Fire emblem instead. My wii could do with some rpg lovin.
Gizmo Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Thinking about it; they probably won't force updates on us from discs, as the Freeloader loads up from the disc channel then asks you to change. So you won't have the import game in on the disc channel at any stage, unlike with mod chips.
ShadowV7 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 True, anyone have any ideas what the updates for the games are like? I've sorta been avoiding all news Brawl related. But if the modded Wiis can do the updates, can the Freeloaders one not?
Goron_3 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Well i've ordered this AND brawl but i might cancel (incase it doesn't work).
ShadowV7 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 The thing I want just now is assurance really that we can bypass the Brawl updates and future patches from Nintendo won't kill the Freeloader. They might just turn around and read a patch to make it useless, so confirmation on this from Datel and Nintendo (doubt they would say anything) would be good to have.
Ten10 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Another question to throw into the pot is, will online gameplay be brutally murdered. I can't see it working very well if you do manage to get a game going. And you will probably be locked out from playing with anyone on N-E who ends up with the pal version
ShadowV7 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Online games are becoming worldwide now anyway. With Brawl and MK worldwide i'm sure other games will be aswell.
killer kirby Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Just wait, 2 days after it comes out Nintendo will have a new update that blocks the freeloader.
