That teaser was as disappointing as many teasers are. I mean you'd have to be really into the series to give a crap about what she just did. I'd rather see in game footage please!
Yeah it was rubbish! but WTF Lara, the mansion!!

I mean for what it is it's a cool trailer, but yeah I agree I'd rather some gameplay. There are some videos on gametrailers of gameplay, namely the developer interview.

Word from eidos employees over at the tomb raider forums, is that Lara blows up the mansion

to fake her own death

I must be 'one of those people that's really into the series' because I was shocked when she blew up the mansion!!! Underworld is my most anticipated game of this year - roll on Nov 21st.

There's a new gameplay trailer up on gamespot, although I'd reccomend the jeuxvideo.com version as it's alot nicer quality albeit in french. Looks like Natla's back then!

As a PS3 owner they've successfully miffed me. I'm not sure how that helps Eidos, but then I guess they've enough on their mind right now. Like a great big money hat.

Exclusive DLC is a trend that needs to die now before it's too late. Throwaway features such as Dead Space's console-specific costumes are okay, but to be denied playable content based on your console preference is just petty. All forms of exclusivity are annoying, but at least with entire games there's viable reasons for it; Microsoft own the Halo IP, it would take a lot of work to port MGS4 to the 360, etcetera. These displays of one-upmanship merely highlight how similar the two consoles are; fanboys can't even laud entire titles over their enemies anymore, reduced to arguing why "Darth Vadar is so much better than Yoda!"

Yup, an Eidos rep said so in an MTV interview here.

I'm seriously disappointed in this. I'm an avid fan of the series but the lack of DLC, and hell even a demo really feels like a kick in the nuts. Especially because the Playstation brand practically made Lara what she is today.

I hate crap like this. It just makes me more determined to get the PS3 version. I was going to buy it but now I'm going to rent it.

The recent Tomb Raiders were actually damn good. Not saying Uncharted isn't better, never played it :P

It came out on the Saturn first though :P

To me, better exclusive for 360 than PS3, since I dont have a PS3, but I hate this kind of things too. When will the demo be out?

ahem buy Uncharted :heh: Probably better game if the recent Tomb Raiders were anything to go by.

I enjoyed Legends more than Uncharted. They are different games though so you can't really compare.

Have to say I agree. Superficially they might look like the same type of game but they're really not. Uncharted was alot more duck and cover combat focused whereas Legend and from what we've seen of Underworld are more (and Tomb Raider games generally have always been more about) the puzzling and traversing of the environments you're faced with. I suppose that's true with some of Uncharted, but I felt the puzzles and exploration to be quite shallow. Just my opinion though.

EDIT: The demo's up on the XBLA now.

Love the demo of 'Underworld' up on Xbox LIVE. It seemed a bit twitchy at first, but got used to it especially the combat - those tigers are quite hard to kill. I think the graphics are pretty good too. Anyone else played it yet?

It weighs in at 1.27gb. Loving the atmosphere and the graphics and animation are gorgeous. Just not loving the controls so much. Hopefully they'll grow on me.

I'm buying it after playing the demo, i hated anniversarry due to the level design, i was never a fan of the first game.

The one thing stuck out to me in Underworld, what the hell did they do to the camera from Legend?! Atleast it actually worked in that game! In this its just a complete mess.

Wow, the demo is awesome. Especially once you get used to how Lara moves. I loved Legend, but like Jordan hated Anniversary.

I was amazed at the graphics. Not only does it look fantastic (the animations where Lara pushes plants and stuff out of the way is awesome) but the level in the demo looks very natural (rather than the "forced" feeling of all the previous ones). If they can do the same for all the other levels then it'll be brilliant.

I hope the amount of voice acting in the demo is the same as the final version (i.e. no contact from your annoying crew when you're actual playing) then that'll be another great improvement.

I really liked it too, very beautiful scenarios that really make you feel like you're in exotic places and most of all, freaking amazing animations. Really top notch. Lara's voice is kinda annoying and the camera is frustratingly high maintenance, but liked it. Never played Anniversary and Legend too much, just a bit of the Wii versions though.

The PC Demo is up now also. I agree with Hellfire, the animations are beautiful and shows how the motion capture paid off.

Anniversary for me was a good game, until around half way through the Egypt levels where it just got very very boring. So I can agree with most on that.

Sales of Eidos' Tomb Raider: Underworld are strongest on the PlayStation 3, with 51 per cent of all units sold in its first week of release on Sony's home console.

The Xbox 360 accounted for 34 per cent of sales, with the remaining sales made up of Wii, PC and DS SKUs.

Earlier this year, Eidos announced that only the Xbox 360 version of the game will benefit from two exclusive digital episodes, amounting to around six extra hours of play.

Tomb Raider: Underworld only beat the first week performance of last year's Tomb Raider: Anniversary by 6,700 units.

Big difference for PS3 this year. The new NFS also did better on PS3. LBP hanging in higher than WOW: Lich King etc. Though at this time of the year the charts are useless due to the very high numbers involved. A no.40 could higher than top10 titles rest of the year.

Will check this out. I liked Uncharted so maybe this could be fun.
