Razz Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Known for his brunt and witty humour... Are we talking about the same Jaffe here? I never got to play the twisted metals, are they any good? I'd love if the PS2 back-compat news has some truth, there's a treasure trove of PS2 games I'd love to try.
That Guy Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Man this heat must be working my PS3. The full fans have kicked in for the first time since I bought it and it's LOUD! It's louder than my 360.

Hero-of-Time Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Im assuming this is for the US PSN, still worth noting though. Coming up first is Capcom Classics Collection: Remixed, available tomorrow. The game is a collection of arcade classics from gaming’s glorious past. Pay homage to the best of the arcades, like Final Fight, Bionic Commando, Street Fighter, and Magic Sword. Prove your old-school dominance with twenty full arcade titles. Check out the full list of included games here. Later this summer, look forward to Fate/Unlimited Codes. Capcom’s fighting game masters have brought one of Japan’s most popular animes exclusively to the PSN, ready for the new PSPgo. High-flying combos and fast-paced versus action show off the game’s gorgeous 3D graphics, and it’s a fighting-game experience you can’t get anywhere else. Next, keep your eyes out for more gems from Capcom, being brought directly to the PSN. Check out the full list below, including PSone and UMD Legacy titles, and come back often for more info on individual release timing. Capcom Classics Collection Remixed (UMD Legacy) Mega Man Powered Up (UMD Legacy) Dino Crisis (PlayStation Legacy) Power Stone Collection (UMD Legacy) Mega Man Maverick Hunter X (UMD Legacy) Resident Evil 2 (PlayStation Legacy) Darkstalkers (UMD Legacy) Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max (UMD Legacy) Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (PlayStation Legacy) Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded (UMD Legacy)
flameboy Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 hmmm depending how they are priced might be a few worth putting some money into the entropay account for.
MATtheHAT Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Anybody gonna get that Punisher game? Looks quite good, and has online co-op I think.
dwarf Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Maybe, it looks pretty slick for a £6.29 PSN effort: But is it worth spending on it when Battlefield is just around the corner?
MATtheHAT Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Just tried downloading it but for whatever reason I can't seem to add funds to my account. I don't know how much playtime it will get though, especially with Battlefield 1943 coming next week. But for £6, its worth a punt.
dwarf Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 And you like your shooters. It looks as good if not better than Resistance, if there's enough maps you can't really go wrong! I'm loving the look of it. So tempting.
flameboy Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 I'm tempted to get the Punisher, the second film is guff but the first one was awesome...won't get much play time what with Battlefield next week plus did anyone else see; James Pond 2: Codename Robocod PS1 game (£3.99) Must buy for me. Used to love it on my Amiga!!! Full list of stuff is here; http://playstation.joystiq.com/2009/07/02/european-psn-releases-for-july-2/
Aimless Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) It would seem that Valve aren't so down on PS3 development after all. Well, Doug Lombardi isn't, anyway. Given how long Episode 3 is taking maybe they'll have enough time to hire some new talent to put out an in-house version. Edited July 3, 2009 by Aimless
Daft Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 I'd kill to have L4D on the PS3 for the sole reason of not having to pay for XBL.
dwarf Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 All I want from them is a HL game. Each one is so refreshing.
Strider Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) I believe my PS3 may have finally fucked it About a month ago it froze during a game and after restarting it, it decided it wasn't detecting any discs. Eventually it cured itself, however since then it's not been 100%. Every so often it won't read games/blu-rays and tonight it seems that the only thing it will play are music CD's. Meh. [Edit] If i was to give sony a ring, would the 160gb hard drive in put it in affect it in any way? Such as getting a refurb one? Edited July 3, 2009 by Strider
Strider Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) Its just your BRD laser probably needs recalibration. Its pretty minor. Call Sony to sort it out. Just rang them, apparently i am to do a full system restore, if that doesn't work (not that i'm expecting it to) i'm to pay £145 for a refurb one. The robbing bastards! Spending £300 on a machine to last 18 month is shocking. Edited July 4, 2009 by Strider
MATtheHAT Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Just a quick note to anyone thinking of buying The Punisher, don't bother. Its wank.
Columnar Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 @ Strider - £145!!!! That's utter shite. My PS3's laser crapped out on Boxing Day last year after only 11 months. I phoned up Sony and spoke to a very nice chap who told me that it needed replaced and within a week a man came and swapped my PS3 for a refurbed one right there on my doorstep and I didn't pay a thing. I've just had a thought though... Has your warrenty expired?

Columnar Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Oh... sorry about that. I was typing furiously and then I just thought about the whole guarantee thing being for a year.
flameboy Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 fucking hell hope mine never breaks...no way could I afford £145 to get it repaired that involve being real skint for a month or saving up
dwarf Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Just a quick note to anyone thinking of buying The Punisher, don't bother. Its wank. That's a shame. Looked good from the trailer, although I guess the price gives it away.

Strider Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 HDD issue? I've tried a 160gb drive aswell, still the same problem.
The Lillster Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 Strider, check out consolewerks and ConsoleDoctor They do PS3 repairs and it's a lot cheaper than sending it to Sony, plus you get to keep your original console.
