ShadowV7 Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I can't wait for this. Wonder when the US/EU will even get it. Instant purchase from me.
Guest Maase Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Don't get your hopes too high.. Is there any chance of seeing this in Europe?
ShadowV7 Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Why shouldn't we? No reason not too. Yes...yes there is...
D_prOdigy Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Looks might shmexy. Nice to see a JRPG not set in a medieval magic-filled fantasy-land. This should suffice nicely until Persona 4: FES comes to Wii. *wakes up*
ghost_zero Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Hmm... I really wonder if this game will even make it into the US. I hope so. is there anything known regarding this game and US release (or even better European release)? @Shino: As it gets develped in Japan and it is a RPG, I would go so far to call it J-RPG Isn't this game even develped or co-developed by those who created Eternal Sonata and therefore also Baten Kaitos (tri-crescendo)?
D_prOdigy Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Its a JRPG?! Funnily enough, it's never been 100% confirmed to the public... I definately get a sort of real-time, RPG vibe from it whenever I see the game, though.
Shino Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Are we sure this is a RPG? Funnily enough, it's never been 100% confirmed to the public... I definately get a sort of real-time, RPG vibe from it whenever I see the game, though. Ah, see, action RPG would be much better.
pedrocasilva Posted July 22, 2008 Author Posted July 22, 2008 This should suffice nicely until Persona 4: FES comes to Wii.Hell yeah (Persona, Persona, Persona, Persona)Isn't this game even develped or co-developed by those who created Eternal Sonata and therefore also Baten Kaitos (tri-crescendo)?Kinda. Tri Crescendo developed Eternal Sonata alone, whereas with Baten Kaitos they collaborated with Monolith who did graphics and scenario (and leaded development)... With this one, we have another cooperation of sorts. Tri-Crescendo+Venus and Braves team (and we don't know who's leading, but I'd bet on Venus and Braves team).Funnily enough, it's never been 100% confirmed to the public... I definately get a sort of real-time, RPG vibe from it whenever I see the game, though. It has, confirmed as an Action RPG.Are we sure this is a RPG?Yep.
ghost_zero Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Everywhere I read about that game it is said to be a RPG, so I guess it should be one. Though I don't know about the battle system but that doesn't change the fact that it is a RPG
D_prOdigy Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Well apparently, Zelda is supposed to be an RPG and this looks more like an RPG than that series. It's settled. N-Europe has decided that this game is an RPG. An RPG made in Japan that has action in it. I also know that some of the locations look creepy as hell, so here's hoping it's gonna have an awesome atmosphere.
ghost_zero Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Zelda is a RPG type game? Sure it is not supposed to be an adventure?
Guest Maase Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I want Turn-Based combat :'( Without that, it isn't considered a J-RPG for me.
ghost_zero Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 So you don't consider the "Tales of" games NOT a J-RPG or Eternal Sonata?
ShadowV7 Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Screw turn based, real time is better. What you got against other fighting systems. And not considering it's a J-RPG, that's just plain in denial
ghost_zero Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 It depends. On DS probably turn based would be better but on a home console it depends. I like both types. It depends on the RGP I play, e.g. I never would like to play certain RPGs without turn-based but also I would not like to play certain RPGs with turn-based instead of real-time... I have just looked on IGN and there was an older news from the end of June this year where they were talking about the battle system about too. And according to that it seem to be real time OR at least NOT turn-based: http://wii.ign.com/articles/884/884837p1.html

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Anyway, how works that system? You run and click to strike? Or its one of those where you click and wait seeing him attacking again and again (WoW)?
ghost_zero Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 From the IGN news I posted it appears to be like you press a button for actions during the battle and NOT just click and it continues attacking on its own... And btw.: I think for this game this is not a "NO". I don't think this game would be that suited for a turn-based game but it is very likely suited for real-time battle.
Dante Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 site has been updated. (new gameplay screens, character designs and voice samples.) some screens
Noku Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Good god! That site just oozes with atmosphere. The music, the layout, the screenies... yummy yummy
ShadowV7 Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Give me a freakin date already. This looks delightfull.
Shino Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Its incredible, one of the most atmospheric games I've seen! The mini map reminds me of MGS. Edit: The music is exactly what I hoped for this game! So good. Uhhh, QR-Code! Too bad my mobile phone camera can't read it.
mariosmentor Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 The gameplay footage looks like Resi 4 mixed with Skies of Arcadia. Looks trippy.
