I used the search and I'm surprised that only a few posts within topics come up regarding this internet fad.

 

Personally, I found it highly addictive the day I first heard it. And have been a fan of it ever since. I even created a t-shirt with the loituma image on (I'll post a picture of it if I can find it).

 

Anyways Loituma Girl is practically what the internet fad consists of;

For non anime fans, the girl is Orihime from the anime Bleach.

 

Basically, for those not in the know, the background music is the looped section of a chorus of a song by a Finnish band. The chorus in itself is literally gibberish (even to Finnish folk) and whenever they sing the song they make it up pretty much.

Errr, it's not mainly anime...it's a mixture. There are various takes on the finnish song. And nothing wrong with posting something different ?

 

In fact, I've only post 5 threads in total, one being a thread asking for help.

I'm not trying to start an argument I'm just saything you should try and pipe down on the threads and contribute to threads which share a similar theme and relevance.

Far be it from me to try and give people more things to talk about (there aren't that many new threads it seems, and well, once you've posted in loads there ain't much else to say).

 

This is something that deserves a thread of it's own, imo, since it doesn't fit neatly in with others since it's a mixture of music, anime, internet fad, 3D, spin offs, etc.

I listened to leekspin for 1 hour and 16 minutes the other day! :D

 

Once i started, despite wanting to do other things, i couldn't stop! :)

 

It didn't annoy me and after a while i got used to the noise and continued working with it going on in the background. but eventually i broke myself fre from the song as i wanted to watch FMA.

To be honest I prefer disambiguated threads like these, rather than thumping everything under generic titles. I don't like the idea of the forum ending up with four threads each a trillion pages long :)

 

Love the first 'take' with the weird moose thing. Could totally boogie to that.

how weird.. i came across that leekspinny thingy randomly a while ago - i wasnt aware it was anything more than a rather random anime clip with a pretty cool song in the background (*jazzes out*) little did i know it was an internet...phenomenon...? is it really....? :S

 

this would go well in the anime thread though, i do agree :heart:

Well, wiki classes it as such, and it's quite well known in some forum circles. I first came across it when I was using Firefox stumble. Was hooked ever since.

 

It's like the Numa Numa song. I got hooked on O-zone music due to that.

 

Would love a Loituma album, and O-zone album.

My friend was huge on anime, out of all his films I saw those were the only ones I enjoyed. Yes, I didnt like Ghost In The Shell or Spirited Away (ducks for cover).

 

eeh. each to their own. i didnt like akira that much ^^ animation style was really great but story...? meh....

i really really really REALLY love miyazaki's movies... but i can imagine spirited away being a bit too storyline-all-over-the-placey for some people :) if you liked mononoke though, can i recommend "nausicaa of the valley of the wind" to you? s'good!

I'd listen to Ant, actually. He made the mistake of creating loads of threads when he first came onto these boards - first impressions count for a lot, and he's only recently shaken off his bad reputation.
