Nice but those graphics look like 360 to me. Also top spin left a sour taste in my mouth as I played it on the PC and when i reached the last few matches of the game, the CPU became a monster who would return the hardest shots with match winning ones of their own. Didn't like the way my fingers were hurting after i had won a match with one of those beasts and I was using an official PS2 pad as well.

The trailer for the wii version looks awesome. Unless this isn't the wii version...It's the one from IGN revealed today. It's obviously got some CGI in there too.

...It just looks too good :p

When asked about the biggest challenges to the developers of a multiplatform title, The talk was how they broke up the development into two versions. The Wii version would have lesser graphics then the PS3 and 360, but would have a family fun focus about it. The game is defintely more friendly on the Wii over the other two consoles. The 360 and PS3 version are focused on the gameplay and mechanics of tennis, as well as providing top notch visuals.

More info on all versions can be found here.

well get over the on-line as long as they game has good controls..which it seems to.. Ill be gettng this if it gets more good reviews. The wii is so lacking in tennis games but has many golf games? I dont understand developers.

Neither do I, where are the FPS and RTS? The same goes for DS mainly in FPS. Seriously.

As long as this game has good controls, it's a must-buy for me. Wii Tennis is still one of the most played game. The only thing I want it being able to control where I go and have an expanded game + options for me. Having licensed characters doesnt hurt either.

Im awaiting more review scores till I decide on this.

i woulnt mind if the controls were exactly like wii sports WITH movement yourself..

But i'm going to assume they'll be better. Maybe this will encourage sega to release a virtua tennis game on wii as opposed to(sigh) sega superstars tennis.

Im hoping this will turn out well and i'm sure it will:)

I've preordered this..supposadely the control scheme is excellent..and i haven't got a realistic tennis game on Wii! So hopefully it'lll be good!

No one grab Top Spin? Just a slight update is that instead of Andy Roddick being on the cover, us Brits (doubt its all of Europe...) get that bollock Anday Murray.

I nabbed that pic from the Game website, and interestingly, at the time of posting this if you click on enlarge image it gives you an enlarged picture of the box art featuring Andy Roddick.

Try it out... or buy it here.

I want to know how well this one plays. If it's as playable as Wii Tennis and being able to control the character (which it does) and has good animation, I'm up for this one.

I haven't seen many reviews pop up yet. Anyone played it yet?

I have it! Graphically it's..ok..the beginning menu looks awful though..fuzzy background..completely rushed looked..to be fair the overall presentation could and should have been better..but it's not too bad when your actually playing a match.

Playing wise..it's slightly a mixed bag in my opinion, supposadely the controls were meant to work really well...but i'm not sure..you have to hold the wii-mote side-ways..so your finger is on the B button and your thumb is on the side of the wii-mote (so it feels like a tennis racket), which is quite uncomfortable at first..and the idea is to swing the wii-mote back when the ball just goes over the net..and then swing to hit it (in time with the player on the screen) if you do it with good timing..you get a good shot and thankfully the wii-mote rumbles when you've swung it back well, which is a helpful hint! Serving is a press of the Z button..which is..dull as hell really..unless i'm missing something! Why couldn't we serve with the wii-mote?

It gets better when your in a rally and your swinging with good timing etc..but in my opinion it's just not as fun as Wii-Sports tennis..you don't feel like your hitting the ball either..it all feels rather awkward and i blame the idea of using the nunchuck to move your player (surprisingly).

I thankfully got the game for £19.99 using points..which made me feel a bit better then spending £30 on it..If your desperate for a tennis game with all the famous names..then you could do alot worse i suppose, just try and get it as cheap as possible..

That sounds a bit disappointing.. the only tennis game I have played on the Wii (apart from Wii Sports Tennis) is Sega Superstars Tennis and, to be honest, there didn't seem to be any satisfaction in making contact with the ball in it.. or any sense of power!

As far as serving goes.. pressing the Z-Button? Surely tossing up the ball with the Nunchuk and slamming it over the net with the Wii Remote would be the obvious way to do things?

im sure u can do. in the ONM review. they say theres two ways of serving.

I'll have a read up on that..my mistake if there is two-ways of serving, i hope your right!

EDIT: Serves me right for not reading the manual, there is in-fact another way of serving thankfully!

career mode?? does it visually look work worse than Top Spin on the Xbox?

I can't see a full-on 'career' mode so to speak, theres a road to glory, exhibition and party games..i believe the road to glory is the closet to the career mode..but i haven't started that yet as the controls are gonna take sometime to fully perfect!

Graphically (now it could be me) Top Spin on the XBox is better looking, looking at a video on youtube..

and serving with the wii-mote is bloody difficult..i've literally got 10 faults in a row..gotta be right on the ball!

I also have it. I got the Wii version and my mate got the 360 version. First we played it on the 360 and it was enjoyable once we got used to the controls and obviously graphically it was great.

We then moved onto the Wii version and I was very disappointed. As Owen says the menu is awful and I thought gameplay graphics were as poor, but I guess it's never a good idea to play the same kind of game on the Wii immediatly after the 360, but even so the game generally looks bad.

Controls. Basically it seems the nunchuck is the key, not the remote. You move your player with the nunchuck, and although you swing with the remote, you direct your shot with the nunchuck. I wanted more control with the remote, it didn't feel I was exerting any difference in my play with the remote (maybe power only? I couldn't tell).

Serving is all about timing and it's quite difficult. You have to get all sorts of bars and lines in the right places. How about just lifting up and throwing down?

We didn't play for long, so my views may change as I play a little more, but right now I wish I got the 360 version!
