Ooo I just been setting up a media PC in my living room and testing out windows media centre and might I say it is a delight to work with. Looks the bomb with it's wavy lines in the background and look beautiful on my 50"er :)

Vista Home Premium has media center which was a delight to read.

I finally got it connected to my 360. I could never do it on XP.

I just found the 360 on my pc, on the 360 clicked a few buttons and there I've got my saved playlists playing through my xbox.

Shame about it only playing wmv though. Would have liked to stream my avi files to my tv.

Still I can just put the VGA cable in the back of the laptop and have dual screen, 17" and 27".

Sorry off topic there.

My Zune finally arrived today!

It looks pretty good, and so far is working out great.

Do talk more about your experiences with it. It may make me buy one myself.

Installing

The bit that was a little annoying for me (because the online shop i bought it from had given me on without the disk in!). I found the software online, and it installed pretty easily.

Software (not the marketplace, just the libary etc)

Looks pretty good, like wmp11. It automatically imports all the music on your PC and if you want to also imports your movies and pictures. I had a problem when first trying to sychronize my files to the Zune, and the software crashed. I tried again and it worked perfectly, and hasn't done anything like that again. The zune also automatically updated the firmware for me.

The player

It looks better than the video ipod imo. The big screen is a nice touch and its got a nice finish to it, and the blue "glow" around the edge on the black model makes it look even better. The buttons are easy to use and its not hard to navigate around the menus.

The sound quality is very good, and the headphones with it are pretty comfortable (I usually find in-ear headphones painful after a while, but not these ones.).

It can go up to a pretty loud volume if needs be and the quality of the screen is excellent, basically the same as the video ipod.

I've watched a movie on the screen and it was fine, no problems at all. It was fully charged after only 2.5 hours too which was great. I've not had a chance to use the wireless etc yet.

Overall so far Its definitly the best Mp3 player I've had. Simple to use, great looking, and very updatable.

(the only problem some people seem to have, my mate did, is installing which can sometimes be a hassel on certain pc's, though there is a special .msi install package microsoft have made available which sorts out the problem if you have one.)

That looks heavenly (avril not so much XD). I just love the massive album cover option. Tell me what about the songs which you didnt obtain through "normal" methods, did you manage to get the album on.

That does looks really nice.

I know I'm sounding really annoying, but could you try playing an .avi file on it please.

I'd be thankful if you did.

Stefkov, i can tell you now, you can't normally play .avi files on a Zune.

However! There is a DivX/XviD hack on Zunescene.

I got a Zune brought back from the Us for me for Christmas, and it's by far the best MP3 player I've ever had. The screen is big and everything's clear, the album art is huge and the sound is brilliant. You'll never use the wireless feature, but that doesn't matter ... the software was terrible at first, but it seems to have improved with the updates so there's no problem now. I think Haggis' review is an accurate description of it all.

You said I got something right? You are now officially my favourite new member on the forum lol

But as he said, its a great little player. The screen is such great quality.

Btw, do you have a case or a screen protector for yours?

Haha well I'll leave it to you to prove me wrong in the future then! ;)

I just have the pouch that came with it, which is a crazily tight fit ... it is pretty cool though, because you can still control it through the pouch. I haven't got a screen protector, I don't really like them, I like my screens naked! :) It's a strong thing anyway, I've lost track of how many times I've dropped it, and all it has to show for it is a small scratch on the screen which doesn't really bother me.
