Goron_3 Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Hmm I've got a varied taste in music, but I mainly like Rock and Techno, and I've recently found myself listening to alot of Japanese bands such as Dir en grey, Mad Capsule Markets etc. Die en grey are pretty good! X Japan and Gazette are also awesome.
Oxigen_Waste Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Worst Comes To Worst by Dilated Peoples is one of the greatest hip-hop songs ever made.
Paj! Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 After finally getting all of Garbage's albums, I've realised that beautifulgarbage is vastly underrated. It's so meticulously produced and formed, it's beautiful. (No pun intended)
Slaggis Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I'm really into Ben Folds at the moment, no idea why. Also Goldfingers album "disconnection notice" is pretty great. I also bought "Icky Thump", and I have to say I'm loving it.
Paj! Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Icky Thump's good. It makes Bagpipes cool. I hate how so many scottish people seem to think playing really long notes on bagpipes is pleasant. Realistically you want fast paced stuff.
Oxigen_Waste Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 It seriously isnt Good track though Fuck yeah it is!!!
Slaggis Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Oh I am suddenly really liking the track "cry me a river". I have no idea why, I just love the beat to it. I used to hate anything with justin timberlakes name on but now I really like it.
McMad Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I take back what I said about Elliot Minor, I've actually found the worst band ever: Cute is What We Aim For. I'm calling the Catholic Church and telling them I've found Satan.
harribo Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Since getting Grow Up and Blow Away by Metric through the post I've started listening to lots of Metric. Also the kerrang Awards nominations have been revealed and I can't believe Gallows only got nominated for one award. I take back what I said about Elliot Minor, I've actually found the worst band ever: Cute is What We Aim For. I'm calling the Catholic Church and telling them I've found Satan. They are actually awful, my mate once told me the Sex Pistols weren't a punk a band and then as if to sound even stupider he said "Now this is punk music" and went on to play Cute Is What We Aim For.
Ant-Shimmin Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 You need good ol hobbzinio to help change that poor opinion If Anyone is going to change anyone's opinion you will never do it... Beside What about The Message from Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5:heart:
Slaggis Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 If Anyone is going to change anyone's opinion you will never do it... Beside What about The Message from Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5:heart: Are you purposely trying to cause an argument or something? Not cool. Can anyone recommend me any "must listen to" albums? I need more music.
mariosmentor Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 They are actually awful, my mate once told me the Sex Pistols weren't a punk a band and then as if to sound even stupider he said "Now this is punk music" and went on to play Cute Is What We Aim For. Your mate should be shot. Oh and Paj, the majority of Scottish people hate bagpipes. Just another stereotype that Americans adore. It's only demographic are the oldies that remain true to all things Scottish because lord knows they can't get laid anymore. I just filmed a bagpipe gig on Monday. Argh.
Ant-Shimmin Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Are you purposely trying to cause an argument or something? Not cool. Can anyone recommend me any "must listen too" albums? I need more music. Nah I'm just up for shits and giggles to be honest
Oxigen_Waste Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 You need good ol hobbzinio to help change that poor opinion Let's just get something settled, I take it you're a Dilated fan... right? So, yeah, maybe Proper Propaganda is better. Fuck it, Expansion Team is, in it's entirety, a very very good album.
Paj! Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Are you purposely trying to cause an argument or something? Not cool. Can anyone recommend me any "must listen to" albums? I need more music. Homogenic - Bjork Seriously. It's just amazing. If you only listen to one of her albums, make it that. With some good quality headphones. Ray Of Light - Madonna Recently rediscovered this. Got when I was little (7, I think) cause I liked the title track, but it really holds up today, and deserved the praise it got. Jagged Little Pill - Alanis Morissette Really well made, and she puts a lot of humanity into her music. Begin To Hope and Soviet Kitsch by Regina Spektor An amazing talent, and 2 stellar albums.
Tales Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Are there any other males here that prefer female singers? All I listen to is Avril Lavigne, Utada Hikaru, Rihanna and more :P
harribo Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Are there any other males here that prefer female singers? All I listen to is Avril Lavigne, Utada Hikaru and Rihanna :P Do you have no ears?
Slaggis Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Are there any other males here that prefer female singers? All I listen to is Avril Lavigne, Utada Hikaru, Rihanna and more :P I definitly prefer female singers, but it doesn't stop me liking bands with lead male singers.
Jon Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Are you purposely trying to cause an argument or something? Not cool. Can anyone recommend me any "must listen to" albums? I need more music. Try giving Gavin DeGraw a listen, realy talented singer song writer who knows how to write a great choon.
Slaggis Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 India Arie best female solo artist out. Check her out if you dont already know what kind off music does she do?
Oxigen_Waste Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Begin To Hope and Soviet Kitsch by Regina Spektor An amazing talent, and 2 stellar albums. Begin To Hope is stellarly bad. It marked her ruin. Songs or 11:11 are 100 times better than Begin To Hope. Soviet Kitsch is still her best effort, though.
harribo Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Emily Haines is the best female solo artist out there IMO. Other notable bands/artists with female singers I like: Metric Bonde Do Role CSS Kate Nash The Long Blondes New Young Pony Club Noisettes ORIGA Robots In Disguise Shiny Toy Guns Uffie Yeah Yeah Yeahs and of course Girls Aloud
