The Bard Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Urgh. I don't like finntroll. Then again, I don't liek Tyr eithers.
harribo Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Kate Nash - Foundations is super good. Fixed it for you
Paj! Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 30 mins till Bjork Glasto coverage on BBC4. *dies of happiness*
thirtynine. Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Arctic Monkeys covering Diamonds are forever = WORST IDEA EVER. what a pile of crap and a waste of a good song.
The Bard Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Arctic Monkeys = most overrated, so called "band" since Oasis. Fact. I...er I agree. I don't get to say that very often do I/?
thirtynine. Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Arctic Monkeys are far to big for there boots. Headlining at Glasto? What a load of crap.
harribo Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Arctic Monkeys are far to big for there boots. Headlining at Glasto? What a load of crap. Yeah because that's their fault isn't it.
thirtynine. Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Its there fault the lead singer is so ubelivably arrogant. And last year for example they refused to play reading unless they were on the main stage. The hold steady are pretty good.
Mundi Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Urgh. I don't like finntroll. Then again, I don't liek Tyr eithers. So i guess your not much into the Folk Metal scene then? Polka and metal whats not to like :Þ
The Bard Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 I love Blind Guardian. That's not so much folk as it is...actually, there is a lot of folk. Just listen to The Bard's song (oh. hell. yeah.). It's the way it's written. BG is tasteful (apart from their horrendous Tolkien obsession that makes me want to cause them grevious bodily harm). Tyr, are not.
Mundi Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Hardly a day goes by without me listening to Blind Guardian. And that Tolkien obsession is immense... one and one song is fine they´ve made a lot them. Tolkien´s book are good but not that good
thirtynine. Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Who saw Bjork? You see on the last song there was some strange touch screen synth thing? Wtf was that?
The Bard Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Hardly a day goes by without me listening to Blind Guardian. Tolkien´s book are horrendously bad, childish bollocks filled with cliched fantasy iconography which serves no purpose than to further what is already an incredibly mediocre, badly written and appallingly structured story. That's...I love myself. I really really do.
Mundi Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 That's...I love myself. I really really do. I feel dazed and confused over that. I´m sensing a "fuck you" contest over this comment. More like hopefully
Mundi Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Ah yes quite, makes me wanna "Rock And Roll All Night" *wink wink*
The Bard Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 I never liked Kiss . I saw a picture of the band and thought, OMFG they're bound to be hardcore black metal. I was disappointed with the pop crap that they actually turned out to be :p. Zeppelin are the only band from the 70's that have really stuck with me. Maybe Aerosmith too.
gaggle64 Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 If you like your classical you could far worse then Aaron Copland. Bought a CD of his work after hearing the composition "Quiet City" on Radio 3. It's fantastic stuff. It has a lightness and sensitivity that most other compositions lack, remaining highly evocative without having to go into any over-bearing, epic stanzas that often seem forced in other works.
Mundi Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Saying corpsepaint originated from Kiss can start the funniest conversation with Black Metal fans :Þ I mostly listen to one and one songs from some 70´s bands, only bands and musicians i listen to a lot from the 70´s are Zeppelin and David Bowie
Fierce_LiNk Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Ahhh, looking at guitar tabs is satisfying when people helpfully write down the strumming pattern. I'm sat here playing Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead.
Oxigen_Waste Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Lol. The notion of Kiss being Black Metal... LOL And Finntroll is hilarious, but that's about al they are. Tyr is... ok, I guess.
thirtynine. Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Dub Star All Stars They make Dub remixes of songs. Dub Side of the moon is a bangerz.
gmac Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Its there fault the lead singer is so ubelivably arrogant. And last year for example they refused to play reading unless they were on the main stage. The hold steady are pretty good. from what I've seen the Arctic Monkeys are one of the most down to earth bands out there, they can't believe the success they've had and they don't feel that they deserve it. oh and the Hold Steady are great
harribo Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 from what I've seen the Arctic Monkeys are one of the most down to earth bands out there, they can't believe the success they've had and they don't feel that they deserve it. I agree I just can't see where people get this idea about them being arrogant because whenever you see them in interviews they're shy and quiet hardly arrogant behaviour.
