Fresh Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Anything as good as Helicopter on this album? Yes quite a few. Nothing i have found yet its on par with the brilliant Price of gas yet tho.
Fierce_LiNk Posted March 5, 2007 Author Posted March 5, 2007 Well, the first album is buzzing with energy, especially on tracks like Helicopter. Personally, I think this is a lot more reserved, a little less crazy and a bit more polished. Get the album, Jordan. Only then can ye see what we mean.

Platty Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 I love the track "sunday".....wicked. Heavy night....it was a heavy night!! Sunday is the track I was going on about the 2 drummers. Imagine that drum beat at the start with 2 drum kits bashing it out. Love it. Did anyone get the special edition album with the DVD? I did.
Daft Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Did anyone get the special edition album with the DVD? I did. Yea, I did, mainly because the CD case was red and looked awesome, but I haven't managed to get round to watching the DVD. Is it any good?
Platty Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Yea, I did, mainly because the CD case was red and looked awesome, but I haven't managed to get round to watching the DVD. Is it any good? Fierce_LiNk Posted March 6, 2007 Author Posted March 6, 2007 Ok, damn. It seems like every song I listen to becomes my favourite on the album. Right now, SRXT is that song. I absolutely love that middle section, and it reminds me a little of Sigur Ros/Explosions in the sky type stuff. I love it. Fantastic way to end the album.
Sanchez Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Haha, my friend told me I should take the instrumental version of the album I have, join them into 6 songs and try to pass it over as a new post rock band.
Fierce_LiNk Posted March 6, 2007 Author Posted March 6, 2007 Reading the lyrics for I still remember and SRXT made me go a bit teary. I still remember: I, I still remember how you looked that afternoon. There was only you. You said "it's just like a full moon". Blood beats faster in our veins We left our trousers by the canal And our fingers, they almost touched You should have asked me for it I would have been brave You should have asked me for it How could I say no? And our love could have soared Over playgrounds and rooftops Every park bench screams your name I kept your tie I've gone wherever you wanted (I still remember) And on that teachers' training day We wrote our names on every train Laughed at the people off to work So monochrome and so lukewarm And I can see our days are becoming nights. I could feel your heartbeat across the grass. We should have run. I would go with you anywhere. I should have kissed you by the water You should have asked me for it I would have been brave You should have asked me for it How could I say no? And our love could have soared Over playgrounds and rooftops Every park bench screams your name I kept your tie I would let you if you asked me I still remember I absolutely love these lyrics. How can anyone not read those and feel something? When I think about this I just think about young love and how innocent it can all be. I'm not ashamed to say that I cried when I read that, as I really did feel something. SRXT Walking in the countryside It seems that the winds have stopped I took down the posters from my wall Left letters for you all I remember moments of happiness Endless summer, acoustic guitars Being a man made me coarse When I wanted to be delicate I called up Eugene Told him I was drowning Like a castaway on a warm ocean Waiting for a purpose to rise They say it's not becoming For a boy my age If you want to know what makes me sad Well it's hope, the endurance of faith A battle that lasts a lifetime A fight that never ends Walking in the countryside It seems that the winds have stopped Tell my mother I am sorry And I loved her I love this, too. Not for the same reasons as the above, though.
Oxigen_Waste Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Even worst than the first one. Alongside with The Arcade Fire, Bloc Party are the single most overrated indie band ever.
Platty Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Who has overrated them? and who has overrated Arcade Fire? Im interested to hear because I feel these 2 bands dont get enough spot light and are often forgot about (during awards etc)
Fierce_LiNk Posted March 8, 2007 Author Posted March 8, 2007 I'm seriously addicted to the whole album. At first, it was one or two songs that stood out, but now it's hard to pick out a bad track on this album. Every song is just too addictive.
Oxigen_Waste Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Who has overrated them? and who has overrated Arcade Fire? Im interested to hear because I feel these 2 bands dont get enough spot light and are often forgot about (during awards etc) You did... the people. And don't tell me that "it's what makes them good". Britney Spears sold millions and she still sucks. And on top of that, she got awards... so, while being very superior to the artist I mentioned, Arcade Fire and Bloc Party still are overrated.
