I've forgotten what it was. I just found it funny how they were allowed to do that. Plus have you ever heard that black people are 'cooler' than white people? That's something I was reminded of by a few people over time lol. Other than that I can't think of any examples. But if somebody made fun of me for being white I wouldn't care, I'd just take it like I'd take any normal insult. It's not like I'd be being repressed, which IS racist.

I'd imagine words that get used enough get put in the dictionary, no matter what their origin. I know the stereotype you're talking about, with black people being 'cooler' than white people, though I think it's died down a bit now. I remember before chavs were chavs, we used to call them pikeys, but before that people called them rudeboys and stuff(from round my way anyway) and it was sort of tied to alot of 'black' culture I think, only not many people really know about it. Other than the general sort of stereotypes, I was thinking more along the lines of actual sort of racial abuse towards whites. I just can't really recall ever seeing it happen in my life or hearing much about it.

Do you see what I'm saying? I don't think it's as clear cut as the slight biological differences. I think xenophobia and racism are seperate things. If you were to say you hated the French, that would not imply a colour, as many different races own French passports. So you are singling out a nationality. However, often Race and Nationality are interlinked. So I suppose they can be viewed as seperate, or linked depending on the issue at hand. I find it silly how I can make fun of a fat person for being fat and a stupid person for being stupid. And it's okay to be treated differently because you're poor or rich. But calling my friend a nigger, in a playful friendly tone with no intent to insult, is a horrific punishable taboo.Whether religion or nationality is race or not, it doesn't mean it's more acceptable to hate it. Saying "I hate muslims" is just as hateful as saying "I hate black people". Racism should be treating a character in a derogetry sense, and should be treated the same as any hateful act. Jade calling Shilpa 'Shilpa popadom' is racist for sure. But if you insulted Jade for a belief, nationality, race, physical attribute, anything; it'd be just as bad. Not in the real world of course. Racism is holy compared to any other form of insult. You can't order 'nigger brown' shoe polish because it's racist. In my opinion, that's stupid. If I asked for 'nigger brown shoe polish' I wouldn't be asking for 'nigger brown shoe polish, like a dirty black person that I look down on in a racist manner', it's just a word, it's not offensive if you don't use it in an offensive context. I hate how the technicality of the world makes us put things high up above others and completely blows them out of proportion. Hate is hate; and Words are just words. I agree. When I was at school a young Asian lad always used to take the piss out of my mate because he was spotty. When my mate turned around and called him a 'paki' the Asian lad was mortally offended. This is total crap. The Asian kid was ok to take the piss out of my mate's skin so why not the other way around? But I don't think Jade calling Shilpa 'Shilpa popadom' is racist. It's a so what. It's a bit of a joke, no one would blink if anyone called a Scot for drinking whisky or eating haggis. The fact is, it's just words. In today's over sensitive society people freak out of a few words, it's pathetic, people should toughen up a bit. This is going to sound kind of bad, as in a way it is, but the problem is the Jews. (told you it would sound bad) Judaism is a religion, but a lot of Jewish people say that they are a race (and the Nazi's would agree), which means if I say something bad about Judaism (ie "It's fucking stupid for not eating pork. Pigs are cleaner than most animals, for fuck's sake!"), then a Jewish person might just say "You're being racist as Judaism is a race". You see my problem? I would say Jews are an ethnicity. Someone else said if you are born in Israel you are a Jew. WRONG, if you're born in Israel you're an Israeli.

They tried to pull her lip piercing out. They were all still in school and at this point we were 20. The police came straight away and we went around looking for them. When we did find them they all ran off. A police woman caught the leader of them. She was assulted while the girl she had caught was telling her to "get your dirty white hands off me". We went to the police station gave statements etc. Anyway weeks past and my partner got a phone call from some young offenders place. The girls charge? Well for what she done she had to go to a place once a week, explain how shes changed and on another day in the week she had to go make toys for children in a wood work shop for 'rehabillitation'. I don't know why we bothered calling the police. She pretty much got away with it.

If prisoners weren't treated nicely with all kinds of stuff, there might even be money to build a few more prisons and if their cells were smaller there'd be more space in a way too. Maybe the government should claim Sealand and build a prison around it.

I think what made it worse was that an asian guy came over and I thought he was comming to help us as there was quite a struggle. My girlfriend put her arms up in a sort of block pose to guard her face as the black girl kept shouting something like "I'll rip that piercing out you white bitch" and grabbing for her face. I was trying to pull her off but I know how that would have ended up if I had done too much. Anyway I squeezed her arm real hard and she let go and this guy approached us. He was late 30s at least. They started to WALK off laughing and I asked him to help me keep the one there that done the most. He shouted to them and told them to run off. I was completley fucking appauled. I asked him what he was doing, his response "You whites all deserve this" He waited untill they had gone then got in his car and drove off! (He was actually a taxi driver but went off that fast I didn't get to see what company for) I'd like to stress that we didn't do a single thing to them. Not even look at them, they just followed us and started all this off by running up and kicking my girlfriend in the back. I'm not a racist, I think that everyone is different but what got to me was that if this had gone down the other way around things would have been different. I know this all sounds completley unbelievable and if someone else told me this story I would think the same but it all happened.

Been Insane Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 The area I live in is shit, but I wouldn't really say racist. There are much worse areas close by to me and one of them is very bad. I think we were just very unlucky that evening. If it hadn't been us it would have been the next person they had came across. Also we were one road out from the high street where all the shops were and there was a jam packed pub right across the road and not one person came to help after. I do have to say the actual police were great, they drove around untill they found them, caught them and dropped us home after but as I said it was just a waste of time. I pretty much hate where we live. My goal right now is to get out of this place. I just wish I knew where to.
