Gaijin von Snikbah Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 A advertising for Wii in a comic magazine of some sorts.
Tellyn Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 That looks like one of those 70s' safety videos usually shown on the Simpsons or Dodgeball.
fanman Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 I was looking forward to the punchline... where's the goddam punchline!!?
Nintendork Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 2 player with cats via mind control confirmed. There's your punchline.
solitanze Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Promotional material I see. Should help Wii to get at least one unit closer to the ultimate one hundred and twenty million unit target to officially surpass PS2.
Tellyn Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 2 player with cats via mind control confirmed. There's your punchline. Best guy ever.
Cube Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Wow. The wii is so amazing, you don't need to plug it in, turn the TV on or use the sensor bar. I want another one now.
Jasper Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Promotional material I see. Should help Wii to get at least one unit closer to the ultimate one hundred and twenty million unit target to officially surpass PS2. You're a number-addict. You don't need to surpass PS2, you have to beat your competitors. Five years from now, PS2 isn't the competitor it is now and what counts is how Wii rack up aagainst PS3 and X360. It's those three that are battling, because, even though it's PlayStation brand, not every PS2 owner is going to sshift to PS3. I think many see the X360 as the rightfull succesor to the PS2. Nintendo will do fine. They have always done fine, didn't trade that many units over the counter for the green notes, but they always kept some green notes in their pocket. They were always profitable - and that's what we need to look at. Nintendo has always bein profitable and Sony and Microsoft haven't always. All those 10,4 Million units of the X360 were loss. They're just catching up with the prize. Better look at the Dollar-signs (or pounds or euros - whatever) than the units, because in the end - that's what matters to companies. To get to the subject, though, nice comic (nicely drawn), but it'ss clearly advertisement. It's an advertisement style - how's that? Well, the font is standard for advertisements and the kid talks about Wii like he's actually an advertisement-boy. Wich he is. I would have rather seen them appear in regular strips. Ah well, it's a nice thing to see advertisement, more than with GameCube (Look! It looks ... like PS2 does! Even better! But not as good as the Xbox! And it's a cube! Purple! With multi-colored controllers, but mainly purple! And with discs that are so tiny, the 3+ on the game boxes actually mean that your kid can swallow them! We make PEGI-ratings usefull! - that's advertisement, Nintendo ). By the way, a comic is not always meant to be funny. It can have a story and it can have something to tell, too. You're too addicted to those online strips like Littlegamers or WullfMorgenthaler (anyone knows those guys? They're great - wulffmorgenthaler.com, please).
mariosmentor Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 If I hold onto my wii will I turn out like that guy? ...and how much will I get if I just go sell it on ebay now?
Fierce_LiNk Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 That looks like one of those 70s' safety videos usually shown on the Simpsons or Dodgeball. Haha, yeah. I was waiting for some kind of health warning at the end. I have to admit, I also was waiting for some kind of twist, possibly regarding the strap breaking or something. Kinda refreshing not to see that.
