Gentleben Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 A while back then I'm sure I posted here about only getting 250 worth of stars when registering my Wii on the NOE website, and I also recall some people saying they they got the full 500 worth. Anyway I can't find that post so I've decided to create a new one: The same sort of discussion has taken place on the NOE Community forum as well: http://community.nintendo-europe.com/communities/thread.jspa?forumID=180&threadID=676332&start=0 and despite a Nintendo Administrator adding this reply to the topic: Sorry for the confusion about this issue. Allow us to clear it up. The correct Stars value of the Wii console is 500 Stars, however some users who registered at launch received 250 Stars. This was caused by an error in our system which has now been corrected. We are aware of those people who did not receive the full amount of Stars and we will be sending them an additional 250 Stars. Please note that the bundled Wii Sports game is worth 250 Stars on its own, so you should receive a total of 750 Stars for registering your Wii pack. Stay tuned to the site for info on when you can use your Stars to purchase Wii Points! Kind regards, Your Nintendo team I wasn't convinced, partly due to the fact that in the past people have created fake accounts on the NOE Community forums and claimed to be working on behalf of Nintendo. Anyway since that statement was dated the 13th Dec and it's been almost a month now I decided to give the Codestorm house contact telephone number a ring. Once I was able to get in touch and explain the problem how people on the community forums were generally unhappy and missing out on the full 500 stars amount then I was told a few people had mentioned it but, when Codestorm tested with their own VIP Wii code they got the full 500 stars amount. I pushed the issue further and spoke to somone more senior and was offered the chance to be given another VIP code for another type of game worth 250 stars to make up the difference. At first I was offered another VIP wii code-which wouldn't have worked you can't register 2 of the same product. Then I was given a VIP code for Street racing on the cube and another as a gesture of goodwill for Star fox assault. I went on to mention it's all very well and good me getting the missing stars but what about the other unhappy people on the forum/community boards missing out. I was told Nintendo HQ (Germany) had been made aware of the issue and would more than likely be solved in the following months. I was told I may prop log in one day to find I have a further extra 250 stars added to my account for the Wii code (been as NOE have a list of all people with only 250 added to their account) I was then told that anyone that has a complaint should contact NOE Codestorm house via the email addresses listed on the site-to which I replied in the past I'd never been given a reply to any of the emails I'd sent before, and anyone else would be in the same situtation. This senior person then commented and said that they did have over 5,000 worth of emails to check and some had not even been opened yet!! (weather or not 5,000 was an over estimate I'm not sure) He also mentioned I should post about getting the extra VIP codes on the community forums been as they did not have the staff to deal with all the calls and were busy (can't have been too busy cause the first person I spoke to mentioned it was quiet in the office!!) Anyway I complained about the website community forum somemore and was told the site was undergoing a redesign and it's possible that 6 months from now there won't even be a community board section to the site. Comments/thoughts?
Gentleben Posted January 10, 2007 Author Posted January 10, 2007 You like your stars don't you. see Sig
fanman Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 You like your stars don't you. We'll be getting wii points for them soon. And it's about bloody time they redesign the site. The one they have now kinda sucks... especially the forums they have.

We'll be getting wii points for them soon. And it's about bloody time they redsigns the site. The one they have now kinda sucks... especially the forums they have. How about an update to the Wi-Fi site which HASN'T BEEN UPDATED SINCE MAY 2006!
Platty Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 I got 500 for my Wii and 250 for wii sports. However with the GC we got 1000.... Why not a 1000 for the Wii huh? huh ?
Gentleben Posted January 10, 2007 Author Posted January 10, 2007 I got 500 for my Wii and 250 for wii sports. However with the GC we got 1000.... Why not a 1000 for the Wii huh? huh ? When the Gamecube was first released it was standard for it to be worth 1,000 Star points. NOE Quickly found out this was too many stars too be earned at one time and changed it to 500 stars about 6-12months down the line. This also falls into line with Club Nintendo in Japan. Games are worth 25pts and Hardware is worth 50pts. The only difference is we get an extra 0 on the end, and Japan gets way cooler stuff to spend their pts on. Also Club Nintendo Japan codes have an expiry date on them (normally valid for 1 year to 18months) but UK/Europe VIP codes have no set expiry date.
Nintendork Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 You are a freak. You realise this, yes? Good. I got 250.
Tellyn Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 You are a freak. You realise this, yes? Good. I got 250. Awesome. I love quoting you.
blender Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 If you reach 20,000 stars, you become a mario galaxy beta testa,.
Shorty Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 You are a freak. You realise this, yes? Good. I got 250. You know that in the past they've given away consoles for stars? Including limited edition designs? Most recently they gave away Age of Empires for the DS for 5000 stars. Soon they're supposed to be doing Wii Points for Wii Stars exchanges. A bit of effort to get free games doesn't seem freakish to me.
Nintendork Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 1 GBA for 60,000 stars and a DS that you had to pay £129 for. Age of Empires was shit, I know they give away some stuff but not nearly enough to warrant it's existance. I'll be happy once they're all gone into points. But yeah I am aware of what the catalogue is up to at the moment.

It was a Orginal style GBA Platium Colour for 6,000 stars and a DS VIP Pak for 1,000 stars + £129 that including Wario Touched Demo, Metroid Hunters Demo and Super Mario DS.

I wore the t-shirt twice.
Nintendork Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 We got a wild Nintendo.co.uk forum poster here, out of her natural habitat.. lets watch closely folks to see what she does next.
Gentleben Posted January 10, 2007 Author Posted January 10, 2007 And a T-shirt and poster. I wore the t-shirt twice. Ah yes, how can I forget the T-shirt which I sexually exploded all over after wearing. Oh Happy days
Nintendork Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Crikey, this sheilas a real dominant female! We better step back a little bit before she thinks we're going to steal her stars.. I mean children. [/australian]
ghost_zero Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 I don't even got stars with the Wii (as far as I know because I bought it in Austria - and NoE doesn't have something here - OK, I also livei n Austria but I think that is kinda stupid)...

Sabre Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 The GC was originally 500 stars actually, and then at one point they decided to raise it to 1000, even for people who originally registered it.
Platty Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Age of Empires was shit Actually I have this and love it, very addictive doing the campaign mode
Gentleben Posted January 10, 2007 Author Posted January 10, 2007 The GC was originally 500 stars actually, and then at one point they decided to raise it to 1000, even for people who originally registered it. Sorry but your wrong the Cube VIP code was for 1,000 stars from the start, then it was changed to 500 stars. What would be the sense in starting at 500 then going to 1,000 then back to 500?
Eddage Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 The GC was originally 500 stars actually, and then at one point they decided to raise it to 1000, even for people who originally registered it. Well I got 1,000 stars and I registered it the day it came out....... sooooo I think Gentleben is right on this one!
Platty Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Yeah Gentleben is right, I registered my cube on day one at about 2am (went for the midnight launch) and got 1,000 stars.
Serebii Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Yeah same here But Chris, considering you have so many, dont you think you're just getting a bit obsessed with it? I mean complaining about it. The cards said 250 so it was their intend to do it like that
