  1. No way. If the reason for the delay was to pad out the schedule, then Mario Tennis would've been the one to get pushed back; not StarFox Zero. SFZ is a far more important title than Mario Tennis and one with a much bigger chance of selling consoles. SFZ clearly needed it anyway. We've all been saying that for ages.
  2. Slight little peeve of mine there... Everyone keeps paraphrasing that quote wrongly! The actual quote reads thusly... "A delayed game is eventually good; a bad game is bad forever." Ok, minirant over. Carry on :p I agree. They're gonna have to push Xenoblade X as their big Xmas game now, cause Mario Tennis Ultra Smash is not a big enough title to do the job (and I doubt that Animal Crossing Amiibo Party is gonna hack it either - especially with Happy Home Designer stealing its thunder) I'd be A-OK with them finally releasing Starfox 2 on the VC in place of Starfox Zero this Xmas
  3. Good news all round. I've said all along that I didn't think that there was any way it could realistically make for 2015 and I'm glad that I was right; cause it looked like it needed more time in the oven. Pretty crazy that NOE went ahead and announced an actual release date before the game got delayed though. Clearly NCL didn't communicate anything properly regarding the game's development status to them...
  4. Kirby Blanket is here! IT'S SO FRICKIN CUTE AND FLUFFY!!! Got my Goodbye coin and my Endings/Credits CD too
  5. Man, the CG version of the main boy character looks even more like Billy Hatcher! Looks great, but I wish they'd just show us some un-cut gameplay already!
  6. So we finally have a UK date! It's Sunday 20/12/15 Tickets are available to book now from eventim Looking forward to this one!
  7. I quite like that idea actually, makes things quite organic It's also a sort of way of picking your favorite level of the bunch as well; adds a personal touch to your final score
  8. They're DONE!!! W1-1 to W1-4 are now up, click here to see the codes. Go nuts! : peace:
  9. They're finally done!! W1-1 C3E8-0000-003E-C124 W1-2 6510-0000-003E-C281 W1-3 897A-0000-003E-C682 W1-4 B2D8-0000-003E-CB46 Each level has been built with three different types of players in mind... 1: Total beginners to Mario who have never played a SMB game before, teaching them the basics of Mario Maker gameplay (so get your loved ones to give it a try ) 2: Veterans who know what they're doing and who want a bit of a challenge (AKA, you guys ) 3: Speed Runners Each level (except for 1-1) also hides 3 1ups (basically they're NSMB's Star Coins), so get exploring! Enjoy! : peace:
  10. I LITERALLY just uploaded the perfect speed run levels for this! The timing is just creepy! Use my 4 levels I just uploaded, I've built them with hidden speed run paths in mind! W1-1 C3E8-0000-003E-C124 W1-2 6510-0000-003E-C281 W1-3 897A-0000-003E-C682 W1-4 B2D8-0000-003E-CB46 If you want to stick with just 3, then use W1-2 to W1-4.
  11. Woah!! I can't believe it! SLOPES!! ... oh, wait... Never mind... Brilliant idea for a stage! Smash Wii U really needs more crazy stages like this (the hand is just the cherry on top too. Hilarious )
  12. So... I'm nearly done with my first set of four levels! (Been working all weekend, so I only had yesterday to work on the last two - I spent more or less the entire day working on em!) 1-3 and 1-4 have turned out disgustingly well. So well in fact that it kind of makes my first two look a bit crap in comparison When I get back from work I'm gonna go back and just polish them up. It's crazy just how the tiniest of changes (a single block in many cases) can make such a huge difference to the overall feel of a level! So for all those chomping at the bit to tuck into my levels, Please Understand. I'm gonna need just a little longer to make them just right... Lol! Good stuff
  13. Good week Shame about MvsDK2 being unable to share custom stages though... (no WiFi support obviously)
  14. Looks like EAD and SPD may have fully merged now. Kimishima was the obvious choice. He's by far the person at Nintendo who is best qualified for the role (coming from The Sanwa Bank, he was CEO of The Pokemon Company for 2 years before becoming President of NOA until Reggie took over that role; then becoming CEO of NOA, until 2013 when Iwata took over as he became Managing Director back at NCL) He's someone who has always eschewed the spotlight, so I wonder if he'd even consider taking a front facing role like Iwata did... Also looks like Shiggy and Genyo Takeda have relinquished control over software and hardware respectively and moved into advisory roles.
  15. I did. Lovely being able to play it Off TV! Loading times are dramatically reduced too (cut down by more than half for the most part )
  16. Ash Greninja!? Really!? Is... is this what the edge of despair looks like? When all ideas have faded and the barrel's bottom is so thoroughly scraped that your gaze pierces right through... Well... It's SOMETHING that the anime hasn't done before I suppose!
  17. Super Mario Land as your first game is a hell of a choice @drahkon! No doubt it must've weirded you for life Sure. Fine by me And SMB2 rocks and always has rocked! It was always a much better sequel than Lost Levels was : peace:
  18. Super Mario World was the first time I encountered the portly plumber (and indeed, was also the very first game I ever played; at the humble age of 3!) Unsurprisingly it holds a place very close to my heart; there's a very good reason why I picked that one to be signed by Miyamoto when I saw him many moons ago! (and of course I still have that original cart; no way am I letting it go!) As a kid, it wasn't just a game, it was an adventure! Every single crevice of the map held untold amounts of secrets waiting to be discovered, hundreds of secret stages and worlds that you'd hear about in playground rumours (some real and many not so real!). The amazing thing is that people are still finding out new things that can be done with this game... Pure insanity! Likewise every single Mario game is chock full of surprises, new concepts and new ideas all the way. Even if some of them may look very similar on the surface, when you actually look beyond the visuals, you'll find that they're all bursting with surprises, innovation, secrets and new ideas Be it hopping, bopping and getting bopped in the mainline games, cursing that no good cheating SOB computer player in Mario Kart, laughing at the absurd goals you can pull off in Mario Strikers, wanting to punch the person next to you who just nicked that star off you in Mario Party, celebrating that crazy Hole in One in Mario Golf or guffawing as Fawful proclaims his FURY in the RPG games - each one always comes with many a cherished memory. It would take an eternity to chronicle my experience of all of Mario's various games across the years, so it's probably best to summarise the plummer's outings as a whole by saying that you never really know where he's going next! Here's to another 30 years of surprise and adventure! : peace:
  19. Well I've made 2 levels so far and they've turned out pretty well I say! (especially considering that I haven't actually cheated to unlock anything yet!) I'm trying to make some levels that are accessible enough for people who've never played a SMB game before; that teach them how to play the game - while also making it interesting and challenging for veterans as well. It's not easy! I'm gonna wait until I've done at least 4 before I upload them though. Looking forward to trying out your levels later on @RedShell! : peace: BTW, something interesting from a new interview... http://time.com/4030885/super-mario-maker-nintendo-wii-u/ Looks like we're getting some sort of music composer/sound creator as DLC!
  20. Finally getting round to playing it now, so expect god-tier level designs coming shortly... (or at least, way better than the majority of garbage levels out there :p ) Oh BTW, be sure to check out the manual, it's awesome! Here's a quick overview of the French version.
  21. Well Nintendo is the publisher in all territories and I'm pretty sure that Treehouse is localizing it (I think I remember them talking about their involvement during the Treehouse Live E3 event), so I would be very surprised if it lacked dual audio.
  22. Strange date. Surprised that it's gonna end up making 2015 after all. Thought it would be a February 2016 release in Japan for sure. Given that every major RPG from Nintendo since Xenoblade has had dual audio, I'd be shocked if this didn't.
  23. It is indeed. Only just split a few months ago actually! Nintendo and Google have always had a good relationship in general. In fact they've partnered a good few times before; they even co-developed a Japan only Wii game that was sort of like a quiz show game based on Google searches.
  24. How on earth has Wii Sports not been mentioned!? It is THE introductory video game! The one so accessible that even Grandma can get to grips with it! : peace: Ditto for the rest of the Wii_____ series games of course. The NSMB/SMB series is another obvious choice. Same with Mario Kart (though maybe start on the lower difficulty or turn item frequency down to make it less stressful to start with). The Kirby series is a fine choice as well (all the better if you're playing a multiplayer one like Kirby's Adventure Wii or Kirby Superstar where you can help each other out - will be nice for bonding too ). The first two Super Monkey Ball games (don't bother with the garbage that came afterwards) are amazing games as well; extremely simple to understand and very pick up and play friendly to newcomers (great riotous multiplayer action too!) The Tetris series is another no brainer (Tetris Party on Wii/DS/3DS is probably the best of the modern games outside of Tetris DS) The Wario Ware series (and Game & Wario), Nintendo Land, the classic Bomberman games (Bomberman Blast on Wii Ware is particularity great for 8 player multi - otherwise perhaps Bomberman 94 for something a bit more sedate or if you're looking for a good co-op game that's very accessible), the Rhythm Heaven games (Rhythm Heaven on Wii is 2 player too BTW), Yoshi's Wooly World, classic MD Sonic (they're fairly fast, but they are 1 button games and you do have co-op!), World of Goo, Picross, Donkey Konga (on the lower difficulties at least is very simple, accessible and not stressful at all). I could think of much more, but those are the ones that just spring to the top of my mind right now
  25. Nah, Pokemon Go is more like Denpa Men. It's a location based game that relies on GPS/WiFi signals; like Ingress (in fact, Pokemon Go is made by the same developer!) It's the type of game that really is a natural fit for mobiles, given the reliance on a Data signal. The actual game interaction is gonna be very basic. It's the social aspect of it that is gonna be the main draw (and it'll almost certainly tie into the mainline games via Pokemon Bank - so people who are playing on mobile will have an incentive to pick up the mainline Pokemon games to make use of the Pokemon that they catch with Pokemon Go).
