Well that's why you set the tags manually on the website... And then set it so that nobody else can edit them other than you I set all of mine to Speedrun (except for the Bonus levels, which are mostly Gimmick with a couple of Puzzle tags for some of them - also 3-3 was set as Puzzle; though of course it's also designed for Speed Running and the Staff Ghost on that one proves it ) My difficulty curve looks pretty nice as well (except for the Bonus levels of course; though I'm surprised that Bonus 1 is listed as Expert and not Super Expert!) I need to get back into making more levels. Hopefully I'll get some time in the new year...

Pokemon Symphonic Evolutions NE-Meetup anyone?
Dcubed replied to Dcubed's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Well a bit of cringe is kind of part and parcel of a Pokemon event really It was only the last two songs anyway, the rest was all very nice (well, when the audience weren't screaming at everything that was happening in the video footage that is!) Nah, the Zelda one is classy all the way through. -
I told you that it wasn't useless! Glad to see Nintendo agree with me Great... Now I'm gonna need to find something else to annoy him with... hmm... Single character Tri Suit might do the job...
-
Try and let me know by tonight and I'll send the rest to you tomorrow! : peace: Oh yeah, just to remind you. Grab The S-Flags only works properly in 2 player (as I'm sure you remember what happened during the Smash Tourney when I forgot to account for myself as the 3rd player )

There's already a bunch of 3rd party games on a big Xmas sale right now that runs until 31/12/15 (and there's more being added to it on Thursday). I don't think we're gonna see any 1st Party Nintendo games get discounted. They've already done their Black Friday weekend sale and I think that's all we're getting as far as 1st party games go.

Oh hey, @S\.C\.G. I finally got round to sending you two my custom stages (bit late, but I got there in the end :p) You should've received 5 each. Let me know if you got them all! (There's at least one more I want to send, but I reached my limit for the day and the game won't let me send anymore till tomorrow )

Nintendo take 30% on all eShop games (Virtual Console split is something more like 60-40 or 70-30 in their favour though, since they handle all the actual emulation/QA work internally - the original publisher literally just provides a ROM and that's it) 30% is the industry standard across all digital platforms. That being said, I think that some publishers get secret sweetheart deals... I know that Activision get a cut from Xbox Live and PSN subscriptions (they were directly responsible for the $10 price hike that XBL got back during the 360 era) and I think they get some sort of a royalty break from Nintendo (for a long time, they refused to release anything digitally on Wii U or 3DS because Nintendo weren't offering them any sort of preferential treatment. Since their stuff is now appearing on the eShop, I assume that Nintendo gave them some sort of offer...) Likewise, Nintendo have worked with Capcom on special deals with Monster Hunter and the like (remember the offer where you got extra copies of Monster Hunter to give to a friend?). I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo helped subsidise the costs of that...

Woah!! Noitu Love Devolution is finally coming to Nintendo platforms! This one was announced for WiiWare way back in the day, but its development was cancelled along the way. Now coming to Wii U with Wii Remote/Nunchuck controls (Pointer controls for the onscreen cursor) and Gamepad controls (Touch Screen for the onscreen cursor) and 3DS (Touch Screen controls for the onscreen cursor). I was always so disappointed that it never came out on Wii, since it was always a natural fit. Nice to see that it's finally coming in the end! Really looking forward to this one!

The only RPG ever made that I would say is as good as Chrono Trigger is Xenoblade. They're polar opposites really, but they are the apex of the genre. Simple as

The SNES version looked much further along than I had ever expected! It looks great! Cool to see that the giant Dinosaur Foot idea got reused in Banjo Tooie in the end BK Beta is just bizzare! It actually looks a lot like that fan game from a few years back! Just goes to show how influential Mario 64 really was! Really cool to see how many enemies got repurposed from that old prototype into the final version too

HOLY CRAP!!! FOOTAGE OF PROJECT DREAM AND BETA BANJO KAZOOIE!!!

I noticed just now! Congrats on being the second person in the whole world to find it legit BTW! : peace: Just two more Staff Ghosts to go now! Edit: Done! All the levels now have Staff Ghosts in place. They're all far from perfect (that was intentional, Staff Ghosts should be tough, but very beatable), but they have all taken The True Speedrunner's Paths, so they're not easy to beat! Just to get you guys started, here's the intended True Speedrunner's Path for 1-2... 1-3... and 1-4... Good luck! : peace:
-
Wait! No! Scratch that! I just thought of a way I can still do Staff Ghosts! MWAHAHA! BRILLIANT! I'm not going to make them perfect, but I'll make them tough enough to make you think twice about how to best get through my levels
-
Ahh... Seems that you can't set best times on your own levels... A shame. I was hoping to put up some Staff Ghost times for people to beat on my levels... Speaking of which... https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/54BA-0000-0038-B116 I hold the world record on Redshell's first Wario Ware Mega Microcourse level, see if you can beat it

AHHH!!!! THEY STOLE MY IDEA!!!!! Thieving gits! I did it first!!!
-
The tag feature will be a godsend! Hope that the game gets updated to allow you to set tags from ingame! Finally, I can filter out all of the boring automatic and music levels! Right guys! Get to competing for the best times on my levels! They're all built for speed running (outside of the Bonus levels) and have the tags to prove it

Woohoo! Awesome! Hope we get the levels unlocked in the EU version... The e-reader functions were completely removed in the EU version IIRC, so it'll be interesting to see if they give us the US version, or if they modify the EU version to restore access to the e-Reader content... Also, will the US version include the e-Reader levels that remained Japan exclusive? I remember that someone managed to modify the e-Reader barcodes to make them compatible with the US version and that someone managed to make US save files that contained the JPN only levels, so it's definitely possible...

I would generally say that SMRPG ers closer to Mario & Luigi than Paper Mario. The isometric perspective is similar (but not the same as the 3/4 top-down view as M&L1-3), there's a much bigger focus on platforming than in the Paper Mario games, it features a ton of non-Mario characters and they share the same music composer (actually, Alphadream is primarily made up of ex Squaresoft staff who worked on SMRPG, so the M&L series is actually basically a direct successor from the same team ) The isometric perspective does make for some awkward moments (now HERE's a game that begs for the 3D Classics treatment!) and there are some really obtuse secrets (don't even bother trying for 100% completion without a guide) but it's a great game though. An absolute classic for sure! : peace: Also one of those rare few 16 bit RPGs that got a great localisation as well! It's very funny and well done (though with some strange pop culture references thrown in that do stand out as a bit odd, Bruce Lee? Really?)

Pokemon Symphonic Evolutions NE-Meetup anyone?
Dcubed replied to Dcubed's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Well it was only ever used the once in the actual series wasn't it? Otherwise you had to buy the CD, so yeah... -
Some nice sales, but especially nice with the KORG releases! (First time they've been on sale I believe!)
-
Human Resource Machine went on sale fast! Great for me, since I still need to pick that one up

Pokemon Symphonic Evolutions NE-Meetup anyone?
Dcubed replied to Dcubed's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Heh, me and @Ugh first aid said exactly the same thing Seriously though! Props to that guy who beat Red with that crappy team! Must've been a hell of a lot of Revives used in that attempt Yeah, they picked some great choices, but the B&W part really stole the show. It was the part I was looking forward to the most and it was every bit as good as I was hoping it would be! Glad that it wasn't just pandering to nostalgia with nothing but the expected fan favourites (as much as I love the Zelda Symphonies, their choices were very safe for the most part) and I liked how they did a lot of medlies as well (makes sense, considering how short a lot of the music is, so they have to find ways of mixing tracks together - something they did especially well in N-Counter!) -
Pokemon Symphonic Evolutions NE-Meetup anyone?
Dcubed replied to Dcubed's topic in General Gaming Discussion
That was hilarious, everyone gets all psyched up and then you get nothing but a big mumble from the audience I'm glad that I didn't read up on the song list before hand, was a great surprise to hear the oddball choices come up one by one! (I loved the applause when Professor Sycamore's name came on the screen : peace: ) -
Oh my God! An actual Square Enix game on the Wii U VC! HALLELULIA!! More please! (And can we get some more from the Enix side this time? It's criminal that we never got Actraiser 2 or any of the Soul Blazer trilogy on the Wii VC!)

It also doesn't count the people that play offline (those who might not have stable internet connections and disconnected after downloading it), however small a group that is. But either way 27K is the minimum and that's not a bad start
