Wow, is that really the case? What's the point of being able to catch pokemon and training them if you can't evolve them before you complete the game? I've done some research and you can actually buy a Fire Stone from the Athlete Shop if you compete in the Pokeathlon (next to the National Park).. It is available on Tuesdays for 2500 points.

Why didn't you save it for the legendary dogs? It's going to be a pain in the butt chasing those around forever. I saved mine last time for my encounter with Entei.

My future team: Only 3 hours in so far.:p around 16 caught and 1 gym badge.

I aim to improve myself every day, it's probably something I've picked up from Chinese culture. If you don't improve yourself one day, it is a waste of a day and a disappointment. Been a bit lazy lately, but I am gaining momentum. I am going to achieve an awful lot with programming and my Chinese over the next 2 weeks. I will be studying 7-8 hours a day and will be doing a mix of both.

The thing I hope for the most is that the 3D wont compromise an increase in the resolution of the screens.. The poor resolution of the DS was what I hated the most.

I ordered mine last night and it's been despatched.. Can't wait, but I don't really fancy any of the starters.. Can't wait to catch a Growlithe.

If 1st class takes longer than 5 working days, you can make a claim with the Royal Mail as its then considered lost in the post. 1st class recorded is the same as 1st class, but signed for. When you put something in the post, it will go to a sorting office and then they will send it off to whichever local depot it needs to be sent to in order to be delivered to your door. It goes to the sorting office on the day it's despatched and then it's probably sent to the local depot over night I'd imagine.

I think your first paragraph is pretty similar to my thoughts. We can exploit things to our own advantage, which is what we do a lot in modern society. As for condoms, I'd say that animals often have lots of babies when there is a lot of food around and don't when there isn't. We wear condoms because we don't have the resources to endlessly produce babies. Wearing a condom is brought around by the same instinct that controls the behaviour of other animals. It is an artificial fix to an artificial problem. Our bodies aren't best evolved for our current way of life... Some things are quite funny, like how our bones are growing faster than our brains. We often have to have teeth removed because our skulls are too small to house them all.:p Our bodies are lagging behind the world we are finding ourselves in, meaning we have to wear condoms, have our teeth pulled out, shave our faces and etc.:p I don't think what I said is insulting to gay people because I think they are programmed a bit differently (I am guessing they think of women like how women think of other women), so their brains aren't telling them to like women in that way. They are probably looking at women and admiring their beauty, like a woman would. I don't know enough to explain what goes through their minds, but they do seem to have some feminine characteristics. I would say that being gay is like being a blood parrot cichlid: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_parrot_cichlid An infertile hybrid of two different species. In their case, they are like a mix of both genders and can't really breed yet, but just like the hormone treatment of blood parrot cichlids, modern science will find a solution, like in that Arnold Schwarzenegger film.:awesome:

You call me close minded, but the reason why men are attracted to women is to pass on their genetics. If I was wrong, you wouldn't exist or be talking about husbands. Do you think I am close minded to think that? What are a male and female doing together if its not driven by the instinct to reproduce? Can you explain it other than with a 'feeling'? As a specie, we just go along with what we are all programmed to do and think, no matter whether we are conscious of it or not. Love is not some spiritual entity, its how we have evolved to survive. We live with it and we ignore it...we're even oblivious to why we behave and think the way we do. We find 'comfort' in love, which brings 'satisfaction'. There's no biological need for us to be aware of how robotic we really are, so its irrelevant and counter productive for our brains to acknowledge it. We live our lives in blissful ignorance, pausing every now and again in a state of confusion, which vanishes from existence the next day. I think the gratification brought from fostering a child and the reward gained by mothering it is just a matter of fooling our bodies by making it believe that we are achieving our tasks in life when we aren't. I'd liken it to believing that fictional films are actually real when watching them...you get all those emotions from those films like excitement, sadness, anger n etc when it is all fake. Yes, I think what we do always comes down to how we are programmed. We get good feelings and bad feelings from different things and then base our behaviour on it. I think the way humans live just makes our lives very cloudy. I'd even say that I don't think what I am saying I think because its impossible for me to not be human. I do not think like this, but I have paused for a moment, had a think and now I will go on living my life like the rest of us. Right now, I will get some personal gratification from watching a comedy perhaps. Time for Adam and Jo!!

You probably chose the slowest delivery option and paid more for it. They can't legally break release dates, so would probably despatch next working day orders on Thursday and the 1st and 2nd class orders on Wednesday. That's how they did it when I worked at Gameplay. It will be interesting to know when yours will be despatched. 1st class is always 1 day unless you live in Scotland or somewhere else far away from the warehouse and there's no need to sign for it.

Thanks Gio, that's really valuable information. The 14-45mm lens is as big as the camera! I am a novice when it comes to photography, but I will definitely read into the subject once I've made my choice. It sounds like the software these cameras use to process RAW images is quite decent anyway. I am getting married and settling down over the next couple of years and I'll be going to a few memorable places too, so I would like a high quality camera to help document the years ahead. I get scolded if I take a bad photo. Thanks Shorty, I will probably get one of these.

That is the before pic. This link shows it after a year: http://www.babybites.info/2010/03/03/1-year-happy-meal/ I wouldn't eat that! (ok, I'm a vegetarian) -
What kind of effect would that have on his bones? Is he planning to get his hips replaced afterwards?

haha, no, but it's nice to get a reply. A DSLR would be great for image quality, but I wouldn't mind something smaller this time. I used to have a Fujifilm camera that had an 18x zoom and that was probably comparable in size to an SLR. It was too heavy and was too bulky to carry around in my hand on a long day out. Compacts just aren't as good as SLR cameras, but some do seem to come close. I guess that the LX3 has what I am after.. It's not the best out there, but it seems like a pretty solid camera.

Nevermind. I suppose I would like a Lumix GF1, but will probably settle for a Lumix LX3 since it's a lot cheaper (£320).

I'm going to have 2 weeks off at the end of the month, so I might as well get this! Heart Gold for me.. I suppose I had all 3 games originally. Oh yeah, is it possible to trade pokemon from Fire Red and Leaf Green like in Diamond and Pearl?

I want something that is reasonably compact and have a budget of £400-£500, what are the best options out there in this price range? Is there anything that can do 1080p video? Also, are there any good tripods that are nice and portable out there?

haha, did you put any hair on those?

You can't stop at Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away... The entire Studio Ghibli catalogue is a must. If she passes the Totoro test, only then is it a good idea to think about the future.:awesome:

I've finished watching series 1 and 2 and £12 for the first 22 episodes is well worth it! I'm quite temped to get the 3rd series. I used to collect the Looney Tunes Tazos that you could find in Walkers crisps. http://spakatak.com/tazos/uk/looneytunestazos.htm It's amazing how much we forget about our own lives.. Me and my friend tricked this South African guy into stealing a box of 48 walkers crisps from the porch of this girl's house as a test for him to pass in order to join our gang, which consisted of just the 2 of us... We were so bad. We only got a couple of tazos out of it. Whenever I listen to a song, I always suddenly recall where I was and how I felt (emotionally and physically) when I last heard it, whether it was a few months ago or a few years. That is quite disturbing sometimes, but it's funny how things can jolt our memories.
