Karts tend to have a higher top speed and bikes have higher acceleration so if you use a light character pick a kart and if you use a heavy character pick a bike. Also some bikes have tighter drifting where instead of sliding around turns they just turn really tight, however it's difficult to take wide drifts and charge up a red mini turbo.

What's the difference between that and the Triple Deluxe version? That trailer looked cool, might buy Triple Deluxe if it has all that.

It's good for multiplayer if you don't already have a Wii Remote and Classic Controller, that's all I use mine for.

I agree about the stages, the changes they made to the Brawl stages are pretty rubbish and I need to figure out how to bring back the regular ones. They gave Squirtle a new bubble move that trips opponents up, you should use it more often if you think Squirtle is bad. It lets you start up any combo, just jump in and hit them with a bubble then they're completely at your mercy... Metaknight and Snake aren't as strong as they used to be, Snake has a tranq gun now instead of his nikita missiles and Metaknight's tornado moves don't last as long so you can't just spam them. His teleport attack is a lot stronger now however. As a Sonic player I love what they've done to him, making his homing attack useful and changing his 2 spin dashes so there's actually a difference between them now.

I had to get an import copy of Brawl... That's why you need a hacked Wii, so it can play the USA version of the game.

The problem I have with Brawl is that it's too slow, you can't do combos and the game is very defensive. Infinite air dodges don't help matters... I've read online that in the new Smash bros there is a landing lag when you do an air dodge so it's actually possible to punish people now. If any of you guys have a hacked Wii you really should give Project M a try. It's basically Brawl but with Melee physics, it feels so fun to play. They've also changed some of the characters' moves to make them stronger so it's not just a pick between Metaknight, Snake and Game & Watch.

If you still have Melee and Brawl then pick Captain Falcon and do a running jump, then do a walking jump. You'll notice that there's no difference in Brawl but in Melee he will jump a lot further in his running jump.

I don't mind the d-pad for the 3DS or the XL and like Dcubed I only have the cheapest of television sets with the tinniest speakers available so it looks like I'll be getting the game on 3DS. 3D + headphone sound + no cumbersome gamepad

Miis and Palutena have completely different moves that you can select. The other characters just have variations on their special moves. Sakurai always crams in a ton of content into his games, I dunno how he does it! He makes every other Nintendo game seem bare bones in comparison.

I think that's just a New York thing There are some commentators who actually provide insightful commentary although with a game as frantic as Smash Bros it's quite hard to do.

Am I the only one that holds the Wii remote in their left hand? I hate it when motion control games are designed just for right handed people, feels very awkward e.g. Just Dance, Legend of Zelda and Punch Out. As for 3DS games the only game I can think of that actually uses the stylus for controls is Kid Icarus Uprising and you can just use the ABXY buttons or circle pad pro for left handed controls... I've never really found it a problem. There was one game I played which didn't have left handed controls, it was Super Monkey Ball for DS and there was a fps mini game in it which only let you move with the d-pad.

Classic Controller master race here, I've already adjusted to using a normal controller for Smash Bros so playing on 3DS won't be a problem for me I saw a Gamexplain video of them playing the 3DS version and it actually looks really nice on a big screen. I wish Nintendo would let us play 3DS games on Wii U with an adapter or something like we could do with GBA and Gamecube.

There are DS games that support voice chat online, it'd be pretty sad if Monster Hunter doesn't.

I'll be getting MH4U on launch and hopefully joining you guys since my current hunting partner is too cheap to buy a 3DS so I doubt he'll be able to join me.

In some screenshots of the Megaman stage they show platforms going across the stage but the one in the tournament didn't have any of that... I imagine they're still working on it.

So how much is this game and when will it be released? Did they say how many levels it will have? I saw the dragon boss level on the stream, that looked pretty cool. A few friends of mine who weren't too impressed with Mario 3D World saw this and think it looks amazing

It was awesome, my only complaint is that the players should have practiced using items more :p They clearly didn't know how to use them and the one guy actually avoided picking up the Fairy Bottle which completely heals you when he had about 120% Also no one seemed to know or care that you can attack Yellow Devil to make him explode and damage all the other players... The ZSS player did well throughout the tournament, making good use of items and played smartly in the final against Kirby. Would you prefer it if he tried to attack Kirby when he had a clear positional disadvantage and lose the match entirely? Running the timer to go into sudden death was the best thing he could've done. Kirby's up throw bouncing off the lights isn't a problem unless you're at high % and if you get caught by it at that point then you deserve to be KO'd

It could be the diorama mode which allows you to pose trophies together in stages and take photos of them, I remember Sakurai saying on Miiverse before that Phosphora was a regular trophy.
