  1. No real point of comparing the intricacies of one franchise to another. The biggest disappointment with Twilight Princess is that whilst it tries to be dark, it does so far less effectively than Majora's Mask. For example, in MM, the theme of death and urgency is apparent throughout every character, area and piece of music. The NPC's add to this and it works wonderfully. In Twilight Princess, when the castle is taken over by the giant prism, NO ONE CARES. I don't think I've ever been so bewildered in a video game than the few moments after that cut scene - the towns folk are completely oblivious to what is going on. You get the impression that it was added in at the last moment. I was also disappointed with the way they treated Zant - he was an incredible villain up until that cutscene. If any of you end up with 40 minutes free at one point, I would highly recommend watching the Matthew Matosis video review. He reviews the game critically and dissects the design decisions - one of his best. @Hero\-of\-Time, I think you'd love this one...You too, @Dcubed!
  2. Graphically it doesn't look great but it's an awesome idea and it's cool that Nintendo are letting them use the Pokemon license for a GPS game. Very surprised to see that people were expecting battles in this type of game. I can't imagine anything worse than holding my friends up whilst we're out and about because I'm trying to battle a virtual Squirtle!
  3. Yeah I expect that the cost of the controller will be pretty expensive and like the Wii U, they'll have to trim down the power of the hardware as a compromise. That's the reason I don't expect the console to be more powerful than say the PS4.
  4. This is basically what I thought the handheld will be (and what the controller for the home system would look like) given the current state of the market place. What I'm interested in is what the shoulder buttons look like...
  5. Again, it has nothing to do with release dates. For some bizarre reason you're comparing the Wii U Zelda situation (and even the Twilight situation) to multiplatform games like Assassin's Creed which is the oddest comparison I've seen in a long time. What's even funnier is that I started by saying that porting Wii U games is actually a good idea and you still went off on one.
  6. You've literally just made up your own definition of the word port. Using TP as the example, that game is built and designed around the GC. Heck, they showed it before they even finalised the Wii. They copied it over to the Wii far into development. I have no idea why you decided to talk about release timings.
  7. Twilight Princess Wii wasn't a remaster, it was a straight port with widescreen and some quick Wiimote controls added. They literally took the GC code and moved it to the Wii... Do you not consider the 3rd party ports that the Wii U got early on (Batman, Mass Effect) to be ports? Or are they brand new games?
  8. Pikmin 3 never released on Wii.... I thought you were referring to a port of the the Zelda game that is being worked on for Wii U?
  9. I would keep in mind that that one of the reasons why the Wii did so well at E3 2006 was the fact that they had already held an event to talk about the console and the controller. Even with two last gen ports I think most would be reasonably happy with that.
  10. It maximises reach. My entire job revolves around social media and comms so trust me on this, but the way Sony handled the PS4 launch was frickin' genius. The pre-E3 conference, which was aimed mainly at the industry and stakeholders, put them in an incredibly strong position before E3 happened. The social reach/impressions it generated were huge and the media coverage was the biggest of any E3 since the days of the Wii announcement. Superb stuff.
  11. Care to go into detail? You often post saying 'I could argue' or 'for many reasons' but never do. Go on (I'm not against the clamshell design, I'm just interested in knowing why people want it).
  12. It just requires a £1 screen cover (the type of thin film that you'd put on your mobile). It's not an issue really.
  13. Funnily enough that's basically what I expect the handheld to be.

    Rime

This forum is like the Pokemon Red Safari Zone to you, isn't it? Dat bait spreading. I've heard that the guy involved with Rime was involved with the Castlevania: LoS fiasco? Real shame - looked stunning.
  15. I need to change my underwear.
  16. Typical...he doesn't even respond to your reply. You should know better than to go for the bait
  17. You should try Oculus with some Nintendo games. I've played F-Zero GX and Wind Waker (albeit briefly) with VR and they are both incredible <3
  18. I love how the joke flew right over your head
  19. In terms of scale the bosses are often fantastic but it's a shame they don't really threaten Link at all. I've played through the game twice before and I'm fairly certain that the boss of the 3rd dungeon (the giant fish) doesn't actually have any attacks. He just swims in a circle
  20. @MoogleViper, @Zell...when ya coming up next? A mini N-E meet up may be on the cards
  21. Honestly that sounds absolutely horrific.
  22. You should play the Zelda game in Nintendo Land if you like that sort of stuff. It's a shame this didn't come out 2-3 years ago really..would have made for an interesting early Wii U title.
  23. It's the type of RAM that the PS4 uses. DDR5 was pretty expensive back then but Sony announced that they would use 8GB of it for their system. It was one of the announcements that led to third parties developing software with the PS4 as the priority system. Apparently, prior to the event, third parties were told to expect half of that but at the last minute Sony went all out to win them over. Microsoft then made it even worse for themselves with the whole 'no used games' fiasco.
