Virtual Console - All you need to know
flameboy replied to Tellyn's topic in General Gaming Discussion
agreed but still an awesome game.i'll defo get it. doubt we will see it friday though. we don't even have link to past yet, which america got this month so reckon we will still have to wait. -
I'm guessing that after all the launch etc...that was enough for them, so they decided to take their time getting online servers up and running, guess this is why Pokemon needed a unique friend code, as they were using the DS servers or a version of them. rather than dedicated wii servers.... guess it's maybe lazy on their part they could have had it all up running by launch I'm sure...
-
well pretty much my only reason for getting this has been ruled out now...
-
god all this talk is making me want to wheel out GX, think I'm gonna have to, have so far bemoaned the lack of a decent Wii racer forgetting this is stashed away in a cupboard still uncompleted (owing to it being rock solid).....

Wiimote used to play OOT TP style! (Vid inside)
flameboy replied to Dcubed's topic in Nintendo Gaming
technically, you are allowed to own backup's of your possessions (ie the games you own, like with CD, DVD's etc...) but it's a grey area, you are still breaking the law unless you actually rip the ROM yourself for your own back up purposes (otherwise both the distributor/hoster and the downloader are still breaking the law) and even then playing it on an emulator is still abit of a no no, its meant purely for storage that law, altho say if you lost the game, wot use is the ROM? I remember I did a project on games piracy once way back at college.... -
yeah aren't there loads of unlockable skills throughout the game, that you can get? stealth being one of them, guessing though if it's as good as the 2D ones there will be a couple of different routes to take, hopefully dependent on which skills you have unlocked, rather than it being if you haven't unlocked a skill you can't advance until you do.

yep not even completed it yet, but already found that annoying that if I havn't completed a mission out right then exit and come back to it have to watch all that crap again!!!! by the way redshell am loving your new signature!!!!

Wiimote used to play OOT TP style! (Vid inside)
flameboy replied to Dcubed's topic in Nintendo Gaming
is pretty cool just a shame it can only be done via illegal means, if only we could do that on the wii, would breath a whole lot of fresh air into some games. -
yeah thats a good summary. one thing I was worried about was the lack of a contemporary FPS with epic showpieces,(something to match the likes of resistance, and ok a third person but GOW) but whilst still small in scale rooms such as the pillar room give this kind of epic gunfight sense. It bodes well for the sequel to Red Steel to build upon amongest other things this.... I was worried after completing Zelda that I would have nothing to do on my Wii for a decent single player but this will keep me occupied for awhile at least....

I've only recently noticed this.... A lot of the time I'm playing my Wii I have my laptop so don't notice the noise as my laptop's hum is loud enough. But I've noticed that it is quite load, it does always make the click sound when going back to the wii menu guess this is it checking the disc so that the image is up on the channels when it appears on screen. one load thing I have noticed it with Red Steel the disc drive constantly clicking, obviously to just stream off the game...didn't notice it with Zelda as much, guessing Zelda loads each section up at once to prevent this. But yeah the Wii is a lot louder than I expected but at the end of the day it's no real big thing it is still so much quieter than my creaky old xbox....

good point, this the first serious battle between 2 games of the same franchise both built for their consoles needs. sonic HD tried to do what it could to dazzle graphically and the game play seemed absent, yet secret rings seems to be far more innovative in control, and game engine wise (the dynamic camera in particular), so lets home this comes out top (having said what I did about the graphics though they do look gorgeous...)
-
yeah ditto, am actually quite looking forward to this.
-
yeah I'd agree on that, even though I havn't completed it yet, don't see myself going back to it, it isn't epic and the story isn't great and the lack of different difficulty settings makes replaying seem unlucky.
-
with the shredding paper its all about keeping up the momentum the same as the first shred you do.
-
well I've been abit if and but about this game so far. it's been ok but not great, but now I've completed Zelda and my uni exams are out of the way, this has proved to be my only source of 1 player gaming for now, and I LOVE IT! completed the factory level today, and also just done the financial district level, love how you can pick which to do when and how. the finance level was really good, loved the music in it, and loved seeing all the offices getting destoryed, moments like this of the game look really good graphically.

zzzzz getting bored all I want for the VC at the moment is Mario Kart 64 and ALTTP. -
http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/756/756124p1.html well quite a few people have spoken of their interests about this game. so thought I'd post this. Looks pretty good, got graphics that they compare to the the PS2. But has gameplay elements from the 360 version. Also it seems they have nailed the wiimote control for the most part, apart from the putting perhaps. anyway supposed to be out in March might be worth keeping an eye out for. sorry if this has been posted somewhere else....
-
looks awesome but would never do it myself as wouldn't wanna risk busting a wii remote.
-
220 still my best score, always seem to have a great start to a game then trail off towards the end....
-
yeah I did at first, also with the vacuuming one as well. I would agree with fukudasolokomalakikenanze though, practice making perfect, I don't have this problem anymore.... but it isn't now, I think it just takes a while to get used to having to quickly alter your pose to pointing at the screen this isn't a problem with the likes of red steel for example as you are constantly pointing at the screen.
-
my current order of preference is: 1. Ocarina of Time 2. Twilight Princess 3. Links Awakening 4. Link to the the Past 5. Oracle of Ages and before people start flaming me I never completed Majora's Mask back in the N64 days, only got past the first dungeon, but now TP is completed I'm gonna go back to it and try and complete it. also despite putting OOT before TP I still think TP is the most comprehensive telling of the tale aswell as the most epic, but the nostalgia with OOT just makes it tops for me still.

Mad Catz to make their own wii mote and nun chuck
flameboy replied to shade's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'm guessing they firstly want to try and create something that looks unique and different amongest everything else. which this dildo inspired mad catz version certainly will. also guessing maybe they have to differentiate them from the official ones enough so that people won't mistake them, also I'm guessing the exact design principles etc... are copyrighted by Nintendo so they have to be wary of making it look to similar.
