  1. I know a lot of people will say "oh, she just wants to fit in." Really, there's no problem with that. However, we have to accept that people are different. Everyone is different in some way or another to somebody else. Most of all, we are different because of our personalities, our character, and also by the way that we look or manage day to day life. She has a plastic arm, which is a big visual difference. Thankfully, technology is pretty good these days, meaning that it perhaps it doesn't quite stick out out of the crowd like it used to. But, at the same time, it is still a plastic arm. I have no idea what it is like to have a plastic arm, or any kind of physical disability, because I have been lucky so far in my life. This girl has had to deal with that, and the way she copes with day to day life is something that I find special. Many people have to overcome adversity in some form, so in her case, her adversity is the fact that she is disabled in this way. Rules are definitely there for a reason. As a store, this shop is providing a service to the public. They have rules to ensure that the public knows that this is a professional establishment. That is why the floors are always clean, why there's lighting, and also why the staff all wear some form of dress code. So that they appear professional. In many shops I've been into, I've found it hard to distinguish the workers from the shoppers, because the dress code was very lax, although the majority of places uses name-tags, which I think is needed. So, the rules are there, in order to ensure that the store remains as a professional establishment. However, the store employed this girl knowing full well of her disability. They employed her with the promise of her being allowed on the shop floor. Like I mentioned earlier, every person is different in their own way, and when shops or businesses employ people they need to understand that. They need to employ people with respect to their differences. This girl didn't want to wear a cardigan to be awkward, she actually was concerned about something that was serious and sensitive to her. The last school I worked at, they employed a male teacher in a wheelchair. As a result of his post, they replaced desks in one classroom with these chairs with these removable desks, allowing the teacher to maneuver around the classroom with little problem. They respect that he was different. Is wearing a cardigan really that much to ask for? In the grand scheme of things, it seems petty, considering the emotional and physical baggage that comes with this girl's disability.
  2. It may be a beer belly, haha. I gained weight over Christmas the year before last, but that's really because I started eating properly. Well, I was pretty damn underweight before then! Only 9 stone and a half. Two stone heavier now. I'm gonna start doing press-ups more regularly. Did 40 consecutive tonight, and only really stopped because it was fucking hot in the house. So, gonna try and reach 50 tomorrow, and on from there. I wanna be in the minority, haha. Also, Buttons of Magic, that's awesome. Well done. Its amazing what will-power and determination can do.
  3. Haha. You never know, it might take off. We're starting a craaaaaze.
  4. Haha, that's what you get for doing or thinking five things at once. I'm surprised it didn't say "it could have gone either Ozzy" since I'm talking to ViPeR/Joe about Black Sabbath.
  5. Well, what are the chances? Two very awesome games in the same day. First, we were treated to a brilliant comeback by Lleyton Hewitt. Secondly, a brilliant game with Andy Murray. Both games could really have gone either Murray. I wouldn't have been surprised if Murray had lost that match, as his opponent was more than a match for him. In the first set, no matter what Murray threw at him, the guy had an answer. Both fought very well. I've enjoyed today.
  6. Maybe it's late or something, but I pissed myself laughing at that. Haha. It does seem very unfair for the company to do that. Surely they must have thought "Hmm, this girl has a plastic arm. Maybe letting her wear something to conceal it, so that it is not in full view of the public, so that she doesn't get gawped at, maybe letting her wear something like a cardigan isn't a bad thing?"
  7. Aww, but at least now you can eat your bacon buttie. I had cottage pie for dinner. YumYum.
  8. Haha, read the edits from my post above. This is a brilliant game. 30-40 in favour of Hewitt, can he do it? Shit, deuce. But, it's Stepanek's serve. I think Hewitt can break him again. Ooo, lovely shot! Advantage Hewitt. Ace. Deuce. This is lovely.
  9. Do you have bread? If you do, then that's a C-C-C-Combo Breaker. Hmm, I am now hungry.
  10. There has to be. Look at those arms...I would feel violated if she ever groped me with those. Hewitt is brilliant. Although, I think his momentum may have been broken by the rain, as it's just stopped play. The Roof! The Roof! The Roof is on Centre! Edit: Two special moments for me. Hewitt and Stepanek just come back onto the court, and begin to hit some balls to each other to warm up. The legion of Hewitt's fans begin to make noises which resemble tennis grunts. A male grunt every time Hewitt hit a ball, and a girlie grunt for Stepanek. "OOOOOOOOOH!" "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" "OOOOOOOOOOOH!" "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" I laughed my head off. Brilliant moment at the start of the Fourth Set. Hewitt was 30-15 up with Stepanek's serve. Hewitt lobs the ball back to Stepanek, and waits on the base line. Stepanek volleys the ball right back to him, and Hewitt returns the ball to the other side of the court, out of reach, to take him to 4-15. Brilliant.
  11. I cried when Sharapova went out. And, now Ivanovic. But, who needs them? We still have Mauresmo! *shudders*
  12. Hmm, what did Jimbob say about those women drivers, again? *ducks for cover from Raining_Again* I joooke!
  13. So, I has sent off de 12 applications now. Watching for the suckers to get back to me, and hopefully offer me interviews and money in exchange for blood, sweat and workings. Although, I've had two rejection laters so far saying that my application wasn't successful. Although, they were at schools where I didn't think I had much of a chance, but it was worth a shot. One was a school in Merthyr Tdyfil who wanted a teacher who also had a good grasp of Welsh. The other was at a Catholic School in Newport. I am Muslim. Not a match made in heaven. I can just imagine the interview right now, haha. I know they didn't discriminate me based on that, but the job description was telling me that they'd prefer someone with experience in Catholic Schools. I have worked in two Church of England Schools, so I thought that might help. But, it doesn't seem to be what they were looking for.
  14. Hmm, the wireless on your MaccyMacMac is just being a bit funny, I expect. Give it a few days and I bet it'll be back to normal. Just had a chat on MSN with a friend (Caz) who I haven't spoken to for a while. It was niiiice. And now...I'm still watching the tennis.
  15. There must be one who is ok. I'll try to think. Edit! What about that random Sarah person who posts sometimes? She has the heart in her name. I bet she's ok!
  16. You've probably done it, but maybe restart the router? Internet is probably just being a bit crappy for a few days. Also, bad luck for the yeast. Today, I woke up randomly at half 5, and popped to the loo, and went straight back to sleep. I didn't really need the loo, so something must have woken me, but I don't know what. Although, I was having a dream about football, and when I woke up the dream was still carrying on in my head. The only thing I could compare it to is if you're watching a band play music on telly, you turn over the channel, so you watch something else but the music still plays. Didn't receive any post today about jobs or my results on assignments. And am now watching Wimbledon on tellly.
  17. How tall are you, white chocolate? You pleased to have lost the weight? I'm now 11 stone 9, which is around 74 kilos. The last time I visited Ine, in April, I believe I was around 65, although I don't think I was in great shape around then. Definitely getting in better shape now. Stomach isn't the best, but it's looking better than it has been for about 2 years or so. Trying to drink more water to keep my hydrated, and some more fruit and veg.
  18. I always thought it was: Shake it to the left (blah blah blah) Shake it to the right (stuff) (then) Shake it to the front (ha ha) Go rouuuuuuuund. I was young, foolish, and blatantly had loads of wax in my ears, haha. Now, I go to bed. Goodnight.
  19. Haha, is that what the line was? I've always wanted to know that.
  20. Happy Birthday, ESS SEE GEE!
  21. Hmm, I really dislike that word. Anyway, Federer, Murray and Nadal are all great players, and they're each very different to each other. I'd like to merge all 3 together...and call it Murfeddal. Add in the sexiness of Sharapova, and victory is ours. In all seriousness, Federer has something about him, a certain class I think. Coming onto the court in that white suit, he looked very suave. It is class, I think, and he's got every right to walk around with a swagger.
  22. Well, there's that Brazilian goal. Start of the second half, Luis Fabiano with a nice finish. Really enjoyed this game and tournament.
  23. Like the commentator has just said, Brazil get the ball outside of the box, and then they run out of ideas. It's patient play, and then the patience seems to go out the window when it comes to having a shot on goal. They've got the ball out wide quite a lot, and there are crosses into the box, but the USA are heading the ball away each time. How ironic that as I type this message that another ball is crossed into the box with it landing on an American head. As long as they can remain solid defensively and keep knocking these balls away, they should be ok.
  24. I'm glad someone else is watching this game. The USA are playing well. Very disciplined performance, and they've worked the ball well, I think. Defensively, they look solid, with Tim Howard looking very good in goal. Going forward, they've looked dangerous, too. I tipped Brazil to win the competition, and I still think that they could do it. They've got the ball into great positions, had some good chances, but I think the luck may be with the USA today. Freekick outside the Brazilian box, right side. Headed away by Gilberto Silva. Corner to the USA. Now a freekick to Brazil outside their opponent's box. There's a good pace to this.
  25. To be honest, that's what I'm planning to do anyway. Great thing about being on a forum is that there's never a shortage of people who want to play. It's a disappointment that there's hacking taking place already, and it's something that I have just never understood. What exactly do people get out of it? It reminds me of when I used to play AvP2 online quite heavily, people would hack the game to gain an unfair advantage, and then would gloat about it. It was annoying, and it just took all the fun out of the game. People are stupid.
