  1. God, I swear the buses were a quid cheaper than that (at least) when I was living there. Extortionate!
  2. Yeah, the potential place seems a bit out of the way. Can you bus it there? Although, the traffic won't be too great in the morning if you need to be there for 8-ish.
  3. Tell them you're a Vet or something. :p Or that you run some kind of animal magazine. Chicks will dig that! Why not just go crazy for one night and make up an elaborate story that is far-fetched? HA! Farfetch'd. This shit writes itself.
  4. Keep your options open. I'd go batshit crazy if I couldn't have a shower every morning. :p I don't know that area too well. Seems a bit out of the way, though. Ideally, you'd want to be in the centre. Where are you working? How close to the centre is it?
  5. Brah, I'm getting relegated this season. If you don't win 6-0, then you should be ashamed of yourself. PS: Grant Conden, or whatever his name is, is complete shit. I'll take him off your hands for 67,000econ if you want.
  6. That sounds shitty, @MoogleViper. Unfortunately, you're right in saying that there's not an awful lot you can do about that without coming across as some sort of trouble maker. In that sort of situation, all you can do is (like you said) get the experience to then move on and hopefully find somewhere better. I'm annoyed at the turnover and amount of changes in our work place. I'm in my third year and this is what has happened, so far. - Deputy Head at the time has decided to retire, so a new Deputy Head has taken over. - 2 boarding house mothers have decided to retire - 1 more of these has decided to move on now, too. - 3 Nursery workers have left and as many have joined. - My Head of Junior School has left and has been replaced by another person who has recently left. - Head of Languages has left and has been replaced. - The bursar's assistant has left. - The bursar himself is retiring at the end of this academic year. - The art teacher is leaving. - The head of D&T is leaving, who is also the Head of the boarding house. - There have been 3 Geography teachers that have come and left. - 1 RS teacher has now joined after the old one left. - Music teacher has retired and another joined. - ICT teacher retired and was replaced. - Supply teacher came in, did a good job and looked like he was going to get a boarding house role before leaving. - A learning support teacher has left. - One of the Teacher assistants died midway through my first year. (bearing in mind that we only really have one teacher for each subject and one for each Junior School class) Some have asked me what I think about this and have enquired whether I "mind change"? Change is fine, if it's reasonable. What I have just typed is fucking lunacy. The place is almost unrecognisable from the place I joined 3 years ago. I understand that change needs to happen, but I'd just like a year that went smoothly without a ton of changes taking place.
  7. Both are shite options, which is why I hope the bluddy thing shows at Empire in 2D. The plus side is that there is an IMAX at Southampton, which I have never been to in my life. Could be worth it for this film. Hmm.
  8. That's a pretty sweet deal. What's the place itself like? 100 quid a week for Brighton is a very good price! It can be extortionate at times.
  9. Happenstance sums up my view on it. I've found that the only 3D film that has really wowwed me was Avatar, and that was made purposefully with 3D in mind. It's expensive, a bit of an inconvenience and I don't really want to watch a film wearing a pair of glasses. It's still a barrier. If I HAVE to see it in 3D, I'll suck it up and do it, due to me wanting to see the film quite urgently. But, given the choice, I'd rather not.
  10. It looks like there is too much damage to the disc. The only way I can describe it is that it looks like somebody has taken a sharp object and made a "dent" into it. Very surprised that GAME allowed this to be sold or even took it in the first place. Ordered another copy for a few quid. Hopefully this one will bring me luck. Very pissed off that this has happened when I was really, really enjoying the game. It's spectacular.
  11. It's actually a very dull and bland film. A monumental disappointment, as far as I'm concerned. I'll probably go to watch the second, but my expectations are vastly lower now.
  12. The transfer window. That time of year when an Arsenal player decides to leave because he wants to win trophies elsewhere. I reckon this year might be Vermaelen. :p Who knows!
  13. Well done to Arsenal for winning the fourth place trophy. InB4 Dazzy.
  14. What's happening here? Are they going to add the 2D dates/slots later, or is it some kind of 3D push? Genuinely disappointed by this. Wanted to get my tickets ready. It's looking likely that I'll have to travel to Southampton just to see this in 2D, which will be a fucking chore.
  15. They're talking about Giooooorgiooooo.
  16. I'm becoming increasingly worried that some cinemas won't be showing this in 2D. My Empire cinema only lists it as 3D and it's the same for the Odeon in central Bournemouth. I've been checking up on this for the last month and it hasn't changed. I'm about to full on rage with this one.
  17. If we go by that mindset, then we will (as a society) be passing on very, very little information down to our children, because we will have experienced little ourselves. What if your children live by that same mindset and have children of their own before experiencing more for themselves, because "it is the least selfish thing to do". We'll have a society filled with parents who have accomplished nothing, who have achieved nothing for themselves and have very little stories of adventure to pass down. Some might argue that we are already there. Yes, some doors open when you have children, but some also close. Would I be able to start up a band or create music for myself, for example? Not when I have children, because it would be a strain juggling a stressful job and bringing up a child, as well as being part of a family. Should you just give up those ambitions because it is too selfish to have ambitions for yourself? I'd argue not, and what a great shame it would be for the world if people gave up their dreams as easily as that. Edit: Just to clarify Jay, it seems like we're both in the same boat/mindset anyway that we're too "young and inexperienced/poor" to think about having kids yet, anyway. So, out of curiosity, what would you say is the ideal age to start having kids? I remember being younger and thinking that the age would be about 30, but it seems to be increasingly normal to have kids around our age...
  18. The talking sections of Giorgio work well with the track, especially the breakdown part that Dr4hkon mentions. I can't believe you don't like either Fragments of Time or Motherboard. Both are gorgeous. Give it another listen at home and with a stereo or CD player or something with speakers. Maybe give it a week and go back and listen to it. For me, it's definitely got better with each listen. Discovery was perfect as it was the right album at the right time. You can't mimic that. This is brilliant in its own right. Dat breakdown! Just listened to it again. Daft Punk made a wise choice by going with live drums rather than samples. It kicks arse.
  19. That whole segment was fantastic. It shows that they have a fantastic sense of humour. Well done to Denmark for winning. I bet @Dannyboy\-the\-Dane is dancing in the streets right now.
  20. Looks like Denmark will win this. Glad to see Greece and Malta doing pretty well, they both sang well. Looks like the UK will finish in the bottom 5. Ireland aren't doing too well, either.
  21. Go Team Romania! We just need to have a bit more fun with it, like Greece did. We keep choosing the wrong types of songs and trying to get the "oh, a famous person" vote, which hasn't been working. We'll finish in the bottom 5, I expect.
  22. Our entry is bleeeh. Why are we going for a ballad? I wish we did something that was a bit quicker and had more of an edge to it, or some kind of beat. It's slowwwww. I quite enjoyed Romania's entry, which brings their total fanbase to two. :p
  23. I wouldn't and don't get offended by it, no. I've got friends who use the term with me and it doesn't bother me at all. Similarly, in the past, I've heard it used in a very negative context, as in people shouting at you across the street to "go back where you came from, you fucking paki!" Although, the first part annoys me more than the second. I know you were joking. :p
