  1. There's solutions to each of those problems. An option with having one Barcelona for example would be to maybe group/find all of these similar rated teams and maybe ask users one by one to choose their team of preference. We could start alphabetically, or draw names out of a hat for that. There are ways of doing it. We could just allow users to choose whatever team they wanted each week, or choose one and stick to it, etc. There's different options and each of those have their own problems and solutions. The most important part though is that everyone has a good time and we keep it fun yet competitive. So, if that means going for one option over another, then we do that.
  2. What if we had three players who wanted to go Barcelona? How would we decide who gets that team? Each option brings up problems, so we need to think carefully about how we do it. If somebody gets a team that they don't like, they're more likely to stop playing and drop out of the league.
  3. I've heard that they also attacked Brazzers, dat porn site. Heard stuff about them hitting LoL servers, too. Seems like there's been quite a few things that they've done. Very dickish.
  4. With this sort of game, you're either going to love it or...not. It sort of reminds me of Killer7 on the GameCube (which I fucking loved) in the sense that the game has such a huge focus on the story and plot, and the gameplay is almost an accessory to that. Although, saying that, I thought the gameplay itself was ace. As for The Last of Us, I love it. What I'm interested in at the moment is a medium's ability to create interesting characters, dialogue, score, interactions, etc. Whether that's a film, tv show or game. There are little things that I love, such as Ellie's wise-cracks, or moments where you're reminded that a lot of shit has gone down in this world. There was one "well...fuck" moment that got me midway through the game.
  5. 90 years of old. British acting and directing legend. Won 2 oscars. Hell of a life. RIP.
  6. Seriously, the more you'll play Fifa 14, the more you'll love it. I really like it as a football game and have got tons of mileage out of only using the demo. Maybe the PS4 version is better, I don't know, but I really like it. It just feels like the way football should be seen and played. Although, PES2011 on the Wii was brilliant and is probably my all-time favourite. However, you really need to put the hours into that to see any sort of enjoyment or to develop your skill. For that reason, for a quick go against your mates who have never played it, it's inherently useless. Fifa is much easier to pick up and play. Aha, I was thinking about this earlier today, too. (I do a lot of thinking) We have a number of options available to us, so it's all about just going with the one that we feel will allow us to have a bit of fun but also keep it competitive. Here's what I've come up with. They're not in order of preference, just possibilities. 1. We register players in the league through their username. Every week, they are allowed to choose whatever team that they want. 2. We register players in the league through their username, however they choose one team and must stick to that team throughout the league. E.g, Ell, you must always be Chelsea, I must always be Man United (obviously, loooool) 3. We register players in the league through the team that they have chosen and can only have one person choosing each team. E.g, Ell, you are the ONLY person able to choose Chelsea, MadDog is the ONLY one allowed to be Liverpool, etc. 4. We select a list of teams that are of a similar ability and select a team at random for each player. So, I could end up with Arsenal (not likely, cause they have 1star rating, looooool), Lostmario may end up with Borussia Dortmund, etc. 5. Idon'tknowlooool Looks juicy as fuck, brah. I'm liking it. That logo is sweet. Can we fiddle with the columns so it was something like the Premier League table that the BBC have? Would that be an idea worth looking into? So, Played, Win, Draw, Loss, Goals for, goals against, goal difference, Points. Not sure if we'd need win%. U r 1 cheeky fukin cunt m8 i swer on me mums lyf i wil hook u in da gabba brah
  7. Horrible, horrible game. Smalling is also injured now, so our defence is even more of a joke. Cleverley gave one of the worst performances I've ever seen from a Premier League player. The only plus is that we got a point. Sunderland bossed us in midfield and were tight as fuck in midfield. Lee Catermole was easily man of the match.
  8. Lame. So, basically, just to piss people off then? Hope it doesn't take too long to get things back up and running.
  9. What exactly is a DDoS? I'm seeing it mentioned a lot on Gaf and they've referred to the people who do this as the lowest of the low. Basically, is it just to waste people's time? Seems dickish. Anyway, not a lot has changed for me, tbh. Ine's playing Assassin's Creed, I've played Fifa 14 (demo) since this morning. So, I've not really felt it. Had I wanted to play Battlefield or Watch Dogs, I would've been pissed off. :p
  10. Di Maria would be a weird as fuck deal. The only reason we're pursuing it is because Real Madrid won't give him moar money. If they gave him moar, we wouldn't have a chance of nabbing him. He was the best winger in the world last season, I was cumming day and night watching him play. It reminds me of the Van Persie deal, mind. We're going after him because he's there, rather than because we actually desperately need him. We can't not go for him because he's that good, just like we couldn't not go for Van Persie, when perhaps we actually needed moaaar in other positions. We need a CM and another CB desperately. I would kill for a new right back, too. In terms of CM, if Strootman were fit, I think he would have been the one. Carvalho or Vidal looked like real candidates earlier on this summer and I think Vidal would have been a good fit. CB wise...we should have gone for Garay. Too late now, because he was the right man. Had a great world cup, too. Pissed off with that one as he is easily better than every defender we have.
  11. Yeah, sorry brah. Fucking hate hackers, mind.
  12. @kav82, @Sexual Chocolate, @Blade, I'm going to play some Battlefield now. Shall I open us up a party chat?
  13. Fucking hell, he can't leave anything alone, can he? What's he smashed this time? The PSN servers?
  14. Wuuut? That was a perfect goal. Linesman must have "expected" there to be a push or something, because there definitely wasn't one there. What a shame. That keeper is probably never going to have another chance to end up on the score sheet again!
  15. Eenuh/Ine suggested yesterday that maybe she should give the game a try. I was about to pop it in for myself and she just finished Strider so needed something to play, so I thought "...ok." She's been addicted to it. Don't think she's moved all day. I wonder if I'll ever be able to use my PS4 ever again.
  16. Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnng, The Lion King. So many memories. :'(
  17. Ine is playing Asses of Creed and is receiving a back rub from me. Something is very wrong with this picture. Or very, very right.
  18. That last part is what I was thinking about earlier. I used to play Xpert11 with the guys on here and the tricky thing with that is that you can't join midway through. Mainly because it isn't possible, just like it wouldn't be possible for a team to get promoted or relegated half way through the season. I've worked through a number of scenarios in my head to try and figure out what all of the options are. 1. We go with one league and say no to newcomers until the league is completed. 2. We go with two leagues, a higher and a lower (Like Premiership and Championship) The theory behind that is that it'll mean the fixture list will be shorter, since the players will be banded into two groups. It would be more newcomer friendly and might even add a bit more competition between being promoted and being relegated, etc. The downside for this is that we will need quite a few players to make this enjoyable. 3. We allow newcomers at any stage but add in extra fixtures to the fixture list (so each player will have an additional game to play in order for the newbie to catch up) In theory, it's not something that is going to crop up all that often because it relies on three factors: them owning a PS4, them picking up FIFA and then them wanting to join a league. Given we're still a mostly Nintendo demographic, it shouldn't be likely that this will happen often. But, just in case it does, it's good to have a contingency.
  19. It's a good price, but I can't spend any more money at the moment. I'm already spending waaaay too much, especially as I've got pre-orders down already for Destiny and Fifa (with Alien soon). Think Ine would throttle me if I spent that much on a headset at the moment. On the plus side, the poverty PS4 headset isn't actually that bad! Think I'll survive with that for a while, then may look to the better headset in the future.
  20. It's funny, you are in the same boat that I was in beforehand. I hadn't played Tomb Raider or The Last of Us before owning a PS4 and I was really excited by Watch Dogs. If you're going to get one anyway, I would just jump in when you have that "twitch" moment where a deal or offer comes along and you know internally that it is the right one. For me, ShopTo's price was just right. For you, it could be that white bundle. I enjoyed the shit out of Tomb Raider and playing The Last of Us still (Left Behind). Both have been phenomenal for me and I also enjoyed Watch Dogs. Things are also still very early days and the software is just going to get better. If you owned a PS3 and thought you got your fix from there, you should be good with this.
  21. Sounds great, brah. You've already run a successful league, so to have you on board with that side of things is amazing. This could be something really special! What did you think of my league proposal? No doubt that there will be things that we change to it to make it better, but what did you think about making it flexible with having a week to organise the matches? Anybody else got anything to add with that one? Fucking awesome! That's another one, then! Excellent. Welcoooooome. I've added you to the first page. That brings us to about 7 people (I think) who have the game on pre-order. 11 people down for this already.
