I'm also more interested in developing new technology, to make rockets and shuttles and the like travel a helluva lot faster. I mean, to be honest, what else can we really find out by just missioning to our neighbours? I think funding should go towards working on a better propulsion system. I have an iRiver H300. I think it cost around £230. It has a full colour LCD which is clear as fcuk, and yes, as Steve rightly pointed out, it is able to connect directly to digital cameras, as well as other mp3 devices, and transfer data. Yes, that's right, you can link your H300 with certain types of mp3 player and transfer files directly from one machine to another. It has a line in, so you can either insert a external microphone to record stuff at up to 320kbps and 44.1Khz. You can also record things like Vinyl and tape on to the mp3 through the line in. It's a great machine. Thoroughly recommend it. Has really great EQ settings, and lots of adjustable options.

People can go and talk about music in the music board, and those who don't like music can watch metaphorical paint dry in the general forum, minding their own business! But seriously, peoples opinions differ on every subject. People have clashing views all the time. In political threads for example, you'll always get one moron coming in saying 'bush sucks lolo111!!!' or words to that effect. And hey, it makes things interesting when more intellectual people come in and put them down with their razor sharp wit. I think music is different to sport and TV as a discussion topic, because as well as there being many genres of music, there's the creative side of music, the theoretical side of it, the practical side, the technological side, all the bands and categories of music to discuss. Go on Fierce_Link. You know me love you long time. I disagree with you Platty, in that football as a topic doesn't produce as many threads in general as music does, or many other forms of entertainment. But I suppose I have no alternative but to accept that the board will never be made, so perhaps I should just give up trying to justify it now.

Huh, about the music forum, Platty raised exactly the same points as the last time I put the idea of a music forum to the other staff members back at c-e. But you say that the Creative and Tech boards needed to be made. Why? All those threads could be in general chit chat, because in essence, that's what they are. The only reason I think that there are that many posts in those boards is because they were themselves created, giving people a devoted thread to a certain topic where people can discuss said topic all day long. Music is something everyone can talk about. If you make a 'Music Discussion' thread or something like that, I guarantee you it will soon be filled.

I see your point about having to create boards for other medium if there was one created for music... but again, I think that the only reason there aren't more posts about music and movies and the like, is because there aren't boards dedicated to them. For instance, do you think there would be as many posts about rival consoles and games if that board didn't exist? I suggest a trial period of say two weeks, to see how things go. I think the forum would greatly benefit from a board for music.

A couple of things. Firstly, a music forum would be good. Not only will it save a good few threads going into General Chit-Chat, but it will encourage posters to share their musical tastes more, and basically provide a big network of bands and artist(e)s for people to consider, broadening musical horizons and giving us all more to talk about. Secondly, I am in no way interested in paying a fiver to access these boards. They've been free for the last three years, why change that now? Besides, everyone should be welcome here. People shouldn't be excluded simply because they don't have a debit card.

This was the most popular thread on the cube-europe retro board, so I thought I'd recreate it in all its glory for the new forums, much like I did back at c-e. So to start us all off (again), I'll go first. I've been playing loads of Super Mario Kart recently. Such a great game. Also played some Streets of Rage and some Contra. Isn't retro the best?

I'm pretty sure there is no season five (yet...). For all those who don't have sky, or vast amounts of DVD spending money, Season 4 is being aired on BBC2 this October. Watch it. Don't worry about it. I myself could have been a bit more layed back about it, but the more direct and assertive you are, the more you will achieve your goal, I find. Apologies about that.
